The yoga will be an energizing two-hour practice in the morning before breakfast and a restorative session in the evening. Morven teaches Hatha yoga with a focus on mindfulness.
The sequences will be a calming, strengthening flow in the morning classes, and you will be encouraged to explore and transcend your limits. The evening sessions are all about grounding and slowing down, finding the rest and peace needed to replenish your energy in this hibernation period. In every class, there is time given to breathwork (pranayama), postures (asana), relaxation (savasana), and meditation (dhyana).
You will never be expected to do anything beyond your current ability. Morven will ensure that you are supported in your practice, whether you are a relative beginner or an experienced practitioner.
In their essence, yoga, and mindfulness are both “awareness practices” and are inseparable when practiced with intention. You are capable of living consciously, and of making choices about how you respond to your own dramas and to life's events. Hatha yoga helps you to recognize and release stress from the body, to build body awareness alongside the ability to live in the present moment.
When you bring the concepts of mindfulness into Hatha yoga, you learn to carry that awareness and sensitivity out into the world. This is known to have a positive effect on your mood, your ability to cope with life's ups and downs, and on your relationships with others. During a yoga and mindfulness class, Morven will teach yoga postures, breath awareness practices, and guided mindfulness practices.

Of course, both Devon and Cornwall are equally blessed with some of the most fantastic beaches in England. The South Coast is within easy reach, a few of the closest examples include:
Cawsand and Kingsand Beaches are next door to each other and approximately a 50 minute drive away. They overlook Plymouth Sound, offering great views of ships and provide good facilities and lots of pubs. Kingsand is dog-friendly all year, with Cawsand not allowing dogs from Easter day to October 1.
Part of Whitsand Bay, Freathy Beach is a 40-minute drive away. It is popular with locals and dog-friendly, except between Easter day and October 1.
Round to West Looe, Hannafore Point is another good, easily accessible beach with facilities. It is mainly rocky, so it has lots of rock pools at low tide. It is also dog-friendly all year.
Looe is a pretty seaside town with a beach which is good for families. It has lots of sand and shallow water plus great facilities, like shopping, restaurants, pubs, toilets, excursions, so it does get very busy in summer.
On the North Coast, the best options are in Bude (an hour away) and Padstow (an hour and a quarter). Near Bude there is a wide selection of fantastic beaches. Padstow also has a fine selection of beaches nearby, plus of course its infamous restaurants and shopping.
Portwrinkle has lots of rockpools and places to eat. It is great for young families, and also dog-friendly, except between Easter day and October 1.
This is a locals’ favorite, located only 30 minutes away. The beach is dog-friendly all year round and has some great facilities, including a country park, children’s play area, cafe, restaurant and pubs.
This is just past Looe and is a lovely small beach but a popular one in a small rocky bay. It has a beach cafe, and a few minutes away there is Talland Bay Hotel for a glamorous lunch. Talland Bay Beach is dog-friendly all year.
Whitsand Bay is famous for its surfing and consists of three miles of lovely sandy beach. Be aware that it is a fair walk down steep paths to reach it, though. This is a 30-minute drive from the farm and dog-friendly all year.
Please book your flight to arrive at Cornwall Airport Newquay (NQY).
Fast services run from London Paddington to Plymouth, taking about two hours and fifty minutes. However, it is best to book in advance to get cheaper seats. Slower services run to Saltash (which is nearer to the Farm).
A taxi from Plymouth will cost around 20 to 25 GBP. A taxi from Saltash will cost around 10 GBP; Cotton Taxis provide a reliable service.
