Yoga Breaks in Spain Yoga & Hiking Retreats take place at a 300-year old olive farm in the coastal town of Altea, an hour north of Alicante. The farm has been owned by the same Spanish family for generations before the current family decided to convert the abandoned farm into a 4-star country house hotel with 22 spacious en-suite double bedrooms, pool, gym and sauna, perfect for any aching muscles. Onsite restaurant and yoga studio with great views. All bedrooms are superbly equipped with satellite television, telephone, heating, air-conditioning, a safety deposit, free WiFi, mini-bar, hairdryer, fluffy toweling robes, complimentary toiletries, and a daily maid service. The hotel sits in a perfect location being just 10 minutes easy walk to the nearby very pretty told of Altea, 25 minutes walk to the sea and yet it sits in a rural position with tranquil views across the countryside.
Our 6 days and 5 nights yoga and hiking holidays take place in the very pretty coastal town of Altea, an hour north of Alicante. Altea is considered to be one of the prettiest villages in this region with little-whitewashed houses, cute boutiques, delicious tapas bars & restaurants all clustered round the stunning blue-domed church.
You will be on your yoga mats twice a day learning from super experienced caring teachers. They will guide you through thoroughly enjoyable and innovative yoga sessions using a blend of Hatha, Vinyasa flow and restorative yoga postures to open, lengthen & strengthen your body beautifully. Yoga Breaks in Spain yoga sessions are suitable for keen beginners and advanced yogis so expect to hear plenty of alignment cues and teaching tips to help deepen your practice.
In addition to the twice daily yoga sessions, there will be some fabulous nature hikes too & additional activities and therapies available with an elite wellness team. On your first morning there's an 14 km. 'Coast & Country' easy walk and then, two days into the program, you'll head up into the mountains for a great hike on one of Yoga Breaks in Spain's most favorite routes around the 2nd highest mountain peak on the coast where you'll see the most amazing far reaching views. For those of wanting more walks, there'll also be chance to head out for a 17k easy walk along the beautiful blue sea to the neighboring town & its lighthouse. In addition to the twice daily yoga & guided hikes, Yoga Breaks in Spain also offer a range of additional activities you can do such as; guided bike ride, aerial yoga session, Spanish cookery workshop, horse trekking and super therapies with their elite wellness team or simply relax by the pool, take a snooze, explore the town and chat with like minded people.
Nicole qualified as a yoga teacher with an "Excellent" grade Diploma after a two-year yoga training course with FRYOG (Friends of Yoga International) and has since gone on to train with some of the yoga famous - and not so famous but equally fabulous teachers - including Shiva Rea, Liz Lark, Godfri Devereus, and Claire Missingham.

With a coastline of well over 200 kilometers, soft sandy beaches washed by warm calm waters, and over 300 days of sunshine each year, the Costa Blanca has been attracting visitors to its shores for decades.
You will see coast-hugging mountains tumbling down to the sea along the entire length of the coast together with lush crops of citrus, olive, almond, peach, fig, cherry, and carob trees amongst the Mediterranean fruits and vegetables ripening in the sun. The perfume from the blossom is truly intoxicating and will help you create a naturally beautiful setting for your blissful retreat.
During this retreat, the chef will create delicious and colorful vegetarian and fish dishes using seasonal locally grown produce which ensures that everything you eat is bursting with flavour and optimum goodness. Breakfasts will be a veritable feast with fruits, wholesome cereals, breads and pastries, juices, local cheeses, Spanish cold cuts, tortilla, fresh eggs from the hotel owners hens, and a delicious cake baked each day by the hotel owner Vincenta.
You will be eating at the hotel on three evenings where the chef will be serving you a vegetarian supper. The restaurant is open during the day if you would like to have another meal. There are also supermarkets nearby and plenty of alfresco cafes and bars if you fancy venturing nearby and dining with the locals.
During your free time, you may enjoy an optional activity such as a guided bike ride through quiet mountain villages, saddle up for a horse trek, join the chef in the kitchen for some Spanish cookery workshops. You may also indulge in a book for yourself, therapies, horse trekking, and aerial yoga.
Please book your flight to arrive at Alicante–Elche Airport (ALC). Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request for the additional cost of 40 EUR each way. Yoga Breaks Spain offers a private transfer service from and to this airport. The meeting on arrival will be between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Upon departure, you will be transferred during the midday.

If you would like to travel with the locals, there is a resort hopper service that operates from Alicante–Elche Airport (ALC) at regular times throughout the day. The drop off point in Altea (the yoga town) is a 10-minute cab ride to the yoga hotel. Journey time can be up to one and half hours due to stops en-route. If you wish to catch the train, first, you will need to take a cab to the north end of Alicante harbor where you will find the FGV (Ferrocarril de la Generalitat Valenciana) train service calling at Altea.
