Yoga Bliss is an international Yoga Centre that offers daily yoga classes, workshops, retreats and Teacher Training on Nusa Lembongan, Bali.
Yoga Retreats (7)
Gwen is the Manager of Yoga Bliss and the Lead Teacher. She took her first yoga class around 10 years ago. She is a dedicated Ashtanga and Restorative practitioner and began to teach following the request of her teachers. She has studied Ashtanga Yoga, Yoga Medicine, Anatomy and Restorative Yoga in France, Mysore (India), and Indonesia with world-renowned teachers as Monica Gauci, Gregor Maehle, Laruga Glaser, Judith Hanson-Lasater, Lizzie Lasater, Cyndi Lee and many others. Her teaching style combines a strong emphasis on traditional Yoga with the needs of each individual student.
With more than a decade of practice and teaching experience, Lisa was initially drawn to yoga through asana. But as she evolved, so did her practice. From building power and strength with Ashtanga and Power Yoga - to the more subtle, mindful practices of Yin Yoga and Meditation. She believes that a “one pose fits all” approach has no place in yoga and as such, her teaching is focused on meeting students where they are at, in the present moment. When not on her mat, or engulfed in a book, she travels extensively to experience all of the amazing gifts that this life has to offer.
With more than thousands of hours of training and teaching under her belt, Echo will be one of the main teachers during the Vinyasa and Yin YTTC. Her background began with Hatha, Vinyasa, and Power yoga, which evolved then to Yin and Restorative. Her practice is always evolving with herself. Her teachings focus mainly on subtle alignment, the breath and integrate flow in the practice to create organic movement. She has spent the last couple of years sharing her practice all around the world trying to adapt the practice to the student and not the student to the practice.
Nanna’s have always been into physical activity but since a CrossFit-injury back in 2013 stopped her from the heavy lifting, she really opened her eyes for yoga. Nanna’s practice expanded to vinyasa, meditation and ashtanga. She has since studied Yoga in Australia with Eion Finn, Life of Fee, Duncan Peak and in USA with Steph Gongora and Erin Kelly and with Gwen on Nusa Lembongan. Nanna is also a certified Physical Therapist and the knowledge and respect she holds for the body shines through in her teaching. Nanna is always teaching from her heart and love to give some fun to her classes

"A Blessing! "
The whole team at yoga bliss have been a real blessing to meet. I booked a 7day toga & surf retreat & ended up in Nusa Lembongan for a month.. and planning to return very soon! From the moment I arrived I instantly felt welcome & at home. It’s been a huge pleasure to meet such a beautiful group of people & I enjoyed every moment of being there.

"Great value retreat"
Nusa Lembongan is a great choice for location, with a great vibe and a thousand places to relax.
The activities complement the yoga really well. The surfing scene on the island is great for learners, and the massages added to the relaxing getaway experience.
Nanna was the teacher and she was excellent. Aside from being an excellent yogi she really engages with the retreaters to make sure they are getting the most out of their time on the island. She is one of those people that radiates positivity - just the kind of person you want to be dealing with on a retreat!

"my main instructor was sammy "
I felt like finally i found a guru (sammy), she was very engaging and caring towards us, students. Her choice of music were soothing and energizing. I was always looking forward to her classes as she made me feel very comfortable despite my beginner level in yoga practices. And of course everyone were welcoming during our stay, friendly staff, good food, swimming pool...what more to ask!?

"Unforgettable experience in my life. "
First of all, Pick-up with Company Rocky and drop-off was amazingly smooth and safe. Also, I stayed at D' Mel sari which is the guest house nearby Yoga bliss. Owner, Ketut was very nice and friendly during the stay. Coordinator Hollie, a very responsible person, greeted and planed all messages and surfing classes with me even though she was not feeling well. I tried all kinds of yoga classes which are professional and let your stress go. Teachers are very friendly and helpful. Especially Vanessa made us happy and smile all the time during the class. Piru led me to more intense practice as I always want to. Especially It was my first time to try Yin Class. Highly recommend Yin class if you want to see yourself. Teacher Hollie will guide you to find peaceful inner body health with it. Breakfast!! gave me such a grateful morning after morning yoga classes. sometimes It took times to get breakfast around 30mins- 1hr. But all menu is very good and if you are not the morning person, then you can have it in the afternoon or evening. No time limit for retreat guests. not only breakfast, But lunch or dinner was good too. Prices are reasonable and just so cozy to relax there with good food. I miss there so much. Massages! just make your day so relaxing and masseuse find your stressful stop on your body and make it smooth again. Surfing instructors were very professional and responsible for their jobs. I was extremely enjoying every time every day. Thank you all. miss you so much.

The organization of my Yoga bliss holiday was very well done, with care and attention to making it all run smoothly. The yoga timetable and events were well planned and all help was given if any changes were requested. The yoga shala was ideal and in a beautiful setting. The teachings were of a high standard, and I enjoyed them immensely. Everyone was warm and friendly.

"Wish it was closer!"
I had a great time at Yoga Bliss, I honestly wish I could return multiple times a year. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the breakfasts were tasty and healthy. The location of shala was incredibly relaxing, no yoga location will compare now! Hollie was a great teacher, excellent instruction and guidance. Absolutely loved Lembongan, decided to stay a few extra days in the end and would love to go back not only for the yoga but also the island vibes.

"Amazing yoga retreat at Yoga Bliss"
I absolutely loved the 7 day retreat I did at Yoga Bliss. The shala is a beautiful, atmospheric and peaceful place to do yoga with a soft breeze flowing through, the rustling of leaves, the sound of cockerels and the smell of incense. There’s a really good variety of yoga taught by 3 experienced and excellent teachers who all have their different styles. They were all so knowledgable about the yoga they were teaching and created a meditative atmosphere every class. I’d not done much yoga before the retreat, but I feel really inspired to continue after my time at Yoga Bliss. The surfing lessons and massages are a great addition to the yoga. The package as a whole is a perfect mixture of fun and relaxing. Being on the retreat made it easy to meet other ‘retreaters’ and I made some really good new friends from all over the world. Everyone came on their own like me. We would often eat breakfast together in the Green Garden Restaurant which served yummy, nutritional food. Hollie, the retreat coordinator who also teaches yoga, is so friendly and good at linking up those on retreat. It was nice to have a ‘go-to’ person if you had any questions or issues and she organises the surfing and massages for you. The people on retreat could use the lovely Yoga Bliss pool even if you were staying in a partner guesthouse nearby. Yoga Bliss was near to the nice main beach on Nusa Lembongan and lots of restaurants & cafes. It’s a small chilled place so you really feel start feeling at home here.

I am really grateful for my experience at Yoga Bliss. It was just what I needed.
I was lucky to score a bungalow at the last minute. I loved the outdoor bathroom.
I enjoyed reconnecting with yoga at my level. (It's been a while... so I'm back to the beginning)
Surf lessons were great! I actually stood up so I was totally stoked with that.
Lembogan is a neat little island, very charming. I loved exploring it.
And the food at the Green cafe was yummy and healthy.
The ladies doing the retreat were all lovely to
And a big thanks to Hollie for the yoga classes and coordinating all the extras like surf, massage and travel.

"Wonderful stay in paradise"
I booked this retreat on a whim and could not have been happier with the decision: the other retreat guests, the classes, the lodging, and the food were all excellent! Hollie was so accommodating and her classes were the perfect blend of body&mind. Nusa Lembongan is a beautiful island on which to spend a week doing yoga, hiking, surfing and more! I can’t recommend this retreat enough and would absolutely love to go back someday.

What can I say, It is always a gamble if you book your Holiday and in this case an active one in the form of a Yoga Retreat. After some hectic months I really needed a break. Going for a Yoga retreat was the number 1 on my bucket list. My 15 days at Yoga Bliss was on the scale of 1 to 10, a 10+. The ambiance is giving you everything your heart needs and desires. The Bungalows are from that kind that you feel home and don’t want to leave anymore. The food that comes out of their kitchen is from another level and close to heavenly. Everything is organic and delicious. Their menu has such wide range that it is impossible to try everything during your stay. The Yoga classes given by Hollie and Gwen they are well trained and knowledgeable yoga masters. The Shala is such a serene place, surrounded by banana and palm trees. The Shala has an amazing floor from recycled teak wood. Their classes are diverse and never boring. They push you without pushing you over limits you don’t even know you were capable of. The yoga classes at Yoga Bliss are two times daily and in some occasions three times a day and they are always full, but never crowded. Yoga Bliss on Lembongan is like a new overseas family to me. While writing this review a warm feeling of amazing experiences fill my heart and I can consider myself a very lucky person, because my gamble is rewarded with the jackpot.
My love to the complete Yoga Bliss Team,
Peter Arnoud Bensen.

"A truly blissful yoga experience "
I spent my first week of my trip In lembongan and it was a mere bliss! Tika and Nanna are just the best hosts one can wish for. Unbelievably friendly, good hearted and always smiling :)
The accommodation is great, you have everything you need and the pool is just stunning.
Yoga was amazing. I took so many classes and all of them were not only inspiring but also at times the perfect amount of exhausting and fulfilling. The atmosphere is awesome and being able to do three courses a day just perfect!
The food was amazing! Thanks green garden team, already missing your awesome smoothie bowls.
All in all a marvelous experience, I am definitely coming back :)

"Confi-feeling place with very friendly staff"
I booked a Yoga Retreat for one week and had a pleasent stay at Yoga Bliss and the Green Garden Bungalows.
The Yoga classes were in a beautiful but simple outdoor shala and Hollie teaches great Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Yin classes.
The bungalow was very nice and the outdoor shower and toilet on the back as well. In the Green Garden restaurant they serve delicious food, lovely arranged smoothie bowls. The staff is very friendly. It was great to have breakfast, yoga, surf classes and water included. The surf classes were fun too, with great instructors and everyone could stand on the board the first day:-)

"Great yoga retreat "
Very nice location, good stay at retreat center (hotel services are ok but could still be a bit better... but the yoga coordinator is trying hard to train the local personnel...), amazing and challenging yoga classes by Hollie and Sami... all in all a very positive experience, thanks to Hollie&Sami!

"Amazing week at Yoga Bliss"

"Great yoga facilities, fantastic yoga teachers"
Getting this retreat made really easy to land, get picked up, get to the island and meet really nice people. The yoga studio is really beautiful and I really recommend to stay at the bungalows there if available. The island is stunning and you can mostly walk everywhere. The yoga sessions are really balanced and it is actually nice go to at least 2 of them per day, that still leaves plenty of time for other activities.
from Germany, June 2018
I stayed for the 7-day-retreat and cannot stop smiling. Hollie is one of the best teachers I ever had (and these are at least 40) besides that she is such a lovely person - we all wanted to pack her in our bags and import her to our yogaschools back home. She makes the classes interesting and challenging for all levels.
The bungalows are very very nice and stylish as well as the shala and the restaurant. (Like other people mentioned, it is not a retreat like being „away from everything“ because the restaurant and the classes are open for everyone which I personally loved because it creates great energy, especially in the classes) Fantastic food & the sweetest staff. Altogether a magic atmosphere. I wanna come back immediately and will also send all my friends there!!!!

"Luxerious week :)"
There is no better place to completly chill out then at green garden. So close to the beautiful beach, i quickly got into a routine. I absolutly loved the classes and felt comfortable getting help from the amazing instructors. Thank you for everything!
from Great Britain, December 2018
I love the idea of connection of 4 different styles of yoga (2 Yin + 2 Yang) since they all together give great basement for yoga teaching and better idea which direction to go in the future.
I liked the savasana adjustments workshop, philosophy conversations, lots of opportunities to teach, silence kept during the morning practices. Very nice and experienced teachers and beauty of Lembongan island! ♥

"10 Day Yoga Retreat"
Everything - the organization of the retreat, the bungalows/property, the yoga classes and shala, the island, the people, the weather...
HIGHLY recommend this to anyone looking for an independent yoga retreat; you will have an excellent opportunity to enjoy and explore the island on your own, as well as receive assistance With planning other activities (surfing, snorkeling). Hollie made it so easy; I never felt like I didn't know what to do/where to go/what was going on. Upon arrival, we discussed when I wanted to do the included activities and she basically sent a few text messages and it was all taken care of for me, including transportation. I also loved that there was transportation to and from the airport.
from Finland, October 2018
The yoga classes were excellent: plenty of different styles to try out and choose from, great instructors, and a beautiful shala. The bungalow I stayed in was brand new with a gorgeous outdoor bathroom; best of all, Hollie was so helpful and welcoming both in her messages and in person, I instantly felt at home. Thanks for the relaxing four days!

D’Mel Sari was a lovely place to stay. Clean and super Friendly.
The food at the retreat was sometimes really good, other times not, lack oingredients, undercooked, bad service, no organisation, however the staff were friendly..
I enjoyed the yoga and the teachers were lovely. It was great to be able to change the surf lessons for massage.
The snorkel trip was more than amazing, so good I went twice. Well organised, safety conscious and took good care of us all in the water.🙏

"A portal to freedom!"
Perfect introduction to all four styles they mentioned on the advertising ... the schedule, even though it was super intense, that was exactly what I needed to be really focused on the purpose of the course and time there! Took me a while to understand the approach with the students but now after a couple of days I just understand how seriously the teachers are about passing such a beautiful knowledge!

The content was extremely rich and I learned so much about the body, yoga and myself.
The schedule was intense, but well put together. Having heard about others, it really is the most conducive to learning.
The teaching was incredible - teachers built your knowledge up and took the time to check in regularly both on a student and personal level.
The food was very good. Breakfast was certainly my favourite with fresh fruit juices and smoothie bowls.

"Happy Yogi, happy time!"
I took part at Yoga Bliss’ YTTC at Lembongan this year! Best choice ever! Gwen and Shawna taught as everything we wanted to know about Ashtanga and our Yin practice. Philosohy and Anatomy were absolutely interesting and Gwen and Shawna made it easy for everyone to follow, without making any shortcuts. We also learned different Pranayama and Meditation technics and involved them more and more in our daily practice, everyone in his/her own tempo and knowledge. Food was healthy, delicious and local, you can choose your own option, vegan, veggie or meat. Over all I had an amazing time, met amazing people and would do it absolutely again! Thanks Gwen and Shawna, Namaste!

Gina and Gwen are incredible at what they do. They gave me a whole new understanding of yoga and my personal practise, which I'll be forever grateful for. The shala, the food and the homestay (Radya) was all in high standard, and I couldn't have asked for more. I feel ready to embrace my future as a yoga-teacher with the new tools this course has given me.
I can't recommend this experience highly enough. I would do it all over again at any time.

Vielen Dank an alle!

"A great experience!"
I really enjoyed the restaurant (food was always fresh and delicious, and the staff super friendly) and the yoga classes. Hollie and Sarah are really great teachers, and the shala is an amazing place to practice. I would even suggest to add a private class to the package for beginners like me, as mine was highly beneficial

"Un séjour mitigé "
Le restaurent green garden est délicieux. Très bon rapport qualité prix. Très bon. Copieux. Pas de taxe additionnelle
Le personnel indonésien adorable et attentionné. De beaux moments de partage avec eux.
Les partenaires extérieurs indonésiens (surf snorkling massage) sont très bien. Chaleureux et professionnel.
Yoga bliss teacher training was the best decision for me. The balance of Ashtanga and yin yoga just works so perfectly. You are really given two sides to yoga, two different paths and outlooks on yoga. Which I think is amazing for your first teacher training if you are unsure which path you wish to take or where you stand. Both Gwen and Gina are so helpful, informative, passionate and easy going, which really makes the three weeks a bit easier. It is definitely an intensive training though, so be prepared for that. My experience at yoga bliss truly helped me find my path as a yogi and pushed me in the direction i need to go. Gwen and Gina gave me the knowledge, confidence and encouragement I really needed to send me on my path! I can't wait to come back for a class. Thank you Yoga Bliss!
I felt compelled to write an honest recommendation for those wanting a legitimate Yoga Teacher Training in the styles of Ashtanga and Yin Yoga. Your teachers at Yoga Bliss Lembongan, Gwen (Ashtanga) and Gina (Yin), who share the load of teaching Anatomy, Adjustments, Pranayama, Meditation and Philosophy, are two of the most genuine, knowledgeable, skilful, empowered women I have ever met. I honestly feel so blessed and humbled to have undertaken this training under their guidance. I personally have travelled to Rishikesh, India and completed a Hatha Yoga 200hrYTTC 2 years prior to this and although it was an incredible experience, I really did not feel ready to go straight into teaching after the course (this was Yoga Alliance Certified too so it just goes to show how pointless that really is). I was pleasantly surprised with the structure of the course offered at Yoga Bliss Lembongan and the content covered, as it truly sets you up with the teaching skills and knowledge to be able to walk out of the course and into being the teacher in your own classroom. If this is what you’re after, do this course with Gwen and Gina. I recommend you brush up on your memorisation of the Ashtanga Primary Sequence, you bring a tolerance for flies and bugs (there is bug spray available there) as it is an open air Shala and you are in the tropical climate of Indonesia. Bring a big enough notebook to take down all the information shared in each class, and enough pens to get you through. They provide very liveable accommodation a few minutes walk to the yoga Shala and meat, vegetarian and vegan options for food, cooked and served by a loving local Indonesian family. There are many other places to eat for super cheap all very close to Yoga Bliss too, if you would like a larger variety. The island itself is beautiful, we went for sunset swims every single day at Scooby Doo Beach opposite the street that the Yoga School is on, it is hot and humid in Indonesia so keep that in mind – again, you are in the tropics! There are no mosquito nets on the windows of accommodation so for a pleasant stay, I recommend getting a room with air conditioning. You get Sundays off and Saturday afternoons too, use this time to explore the island by hiring a scooter, for ultra cheap massages, and for study to prepare you for the week to come. I honestly loved this training and the whole 3 week adventure and would highly recommend it if everything I've mentioned here is of interest to you!
My Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Bliss was great! It was physically demanding and challenged me each day but I think that gives the course credibility. I was able to learn a lot from both instructors, Gwen and Gina. They were really cool, down-to-earth people who genuinely want to see their students succeed. The accommodations were nice as well. I had a room to myself which had a queen-sized bed, air-conditioning, and was located within close walking distance of Yoga Bliss. The food could be hit-or-miss some days because the staff's English is limited, which made it difficult to make any modifications our order. It was delicious nonetheless and the staff were all so adorable so it was never a big deal.
Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga Bliss was a great experience. It was a unique combination of the intensive Ashtanga training, relaxing and balancing Yin, great people, best food, beautiful location, Gina and Gwen (if you get to know both, you will understand why it's part of the unique combination).
from United Kingdom,
I had a great time at the surf and yoga retreat organized by Yoga Bliss. The studio is peaceful and beautiful, surrounded by trees and palms. The classes are very high quality, even if the schedule changes every week so you don't really know what you will get during your retreat. Both Gwen and Gina are amazing teachers, very gifted indeed!I had a great time, and I'd suggest the retreat with them to anyone's looking for a week on a small island focusing on well-being.
from New Zealand,
Yogabliss, it's pretty simple, do yourself a favour and BOOK WITH THEM! Gwen and Gina make the experience like a trip with friends. I travel a lone a lot and although I am a complete beginner, really wanted to go on a yoga retreat. Gwen is the organising force behind Yogabliss and with her wealth of knowledge and local connections, you will have the best options with the best providers on the island of Nusa Lemnbongan. I opted to do the yoga and surf retreat as I am also a beginner at surfing, I met with Gwen on arrival (after a delay which they also helped me manage) and went through what activities I wanted to do on which days, treatments at Kemilau Spa, surfing with the Newbro surf school (absolute legends) and of course, as much yoga as you can shake your drink bottle at with Gwen and Gina.
The shala that they hold their lessons in is so perfect for me it was one of the best parts of the trip. The Green Cafe offered up easily the best breakfasts on the island, their Sunrise bowl being my absolute favourite, couple with the beautiful yoga space, this place is relaxing and peaceful. Surrounded by bush, birds and various animals, while attending a Yin yoga session one morning it poured with rain on and off, after the rain stopped all of the birds started singing, I was lying there thinking this is it, this is absolute bliss, therefore Yogabliss is aptly named.
Trying different styles of yoga was a little intimidating for me as a lot of people attending were devoted yoga goers, however, Gwen and Gina always gave me options and helped me with poses, I loved every minute of it. The meditation session with Gina followed by a Yin class is easily one of my favourite memories of this trip.
I was lucky enough to be placed at Hokita homestay with the lovely Niko Wayan. Having grown up on Lembongan, he has a fantastic network of friends and had endless suggestions on activities, places to eat, things to see and do. I loved every minute of my time staying on the island with Yogabliss and cannot wait to organise a trip back.
The people I met, the places I ate, the little missions on the motorbike, the luxurious treatments I had at Kemilau, this is the ultimate in relaxation in it's most basic form. I loved the freedom of not having a schedule but being able to book whatever whenever. I do not enjoy regimented/planned travel and trips therefore Yogabliss was the perfect option for me. Beautiful people, beautiful surroundings, so much happiness in one place.
Thanks you so much to everyone involved.
