    Rubbish management

CONS Cons: Management was terrible. False, rude and oozing of negative energy! So so so disappointing... Considering they're supposed to teach yoga - the opposite of all of that! I felt like I was imprisoned... Such a bad experience. I highly recommend you to go elsewhere. Makes me feel sick just thinking about the way the manager treat his guests. The fact that he's supposed to be the meditation teacher is just the biggest joke ever.

PROS Pros: Philosophy teacher Shastry was great. Cleaning ladies and kitchen staff were friendly and helpful. A shame kitchen weren't given nutritional food to cook with. Seriously lacking nutrition, and forget about any "detox juices" and many other things promised in the course description. The surrounding area is nice, however the ashram it self could possibly be one of the most negative places on this planet.

Organizer response: Dear Anna Hogstrom Our school principle is truly based on Yogic lifestyle which some time looks difficult but at the same time we need to adhere on the principle of simple living and yogic lifestyle and we ask all our student to follow the schedule and not to miss class, moving to one step ahead we have our code of conduct. During your stay among all ten students majority of them have attended the class and had a good time and had a good experience with us although we highly regret for the inconvenience and we wish you all the best.

    Don't recommend it!!

PROS Pros: I can just suggest you: don't go!!! You are not going to find peace, knowledge, love, compassion or discipline needed for such a kind of training!!

Organizer response: Dear Diana Castanheira Our school ethos is based on yogic life style and we adhere on the principle of simple living and yogic life and we strictly follow the rule hence we doesn’t allow the unnecessary leisure time, and we ask all our student to follow the schedule and not to miss class, moving to one step ahead we have our code of conduct which underline the prohibition of any kind of addiction, and even a sleeping and wake up time, ashram life style, practice of yoga shutra which itself is a kind of Tapashya(Penance) and some time it’s difficult to follow them. We highly regret for the inconvenience and we wish you all the best.

    This school needs work

CONS Cons: I didn't receive my supplies until the 4th day, no planned excursions, a teacher was having sex with students, teachers were not being paid in time, heard multiple arguments between Vijayant and various staff, the yoga hall has fleas and the taped down carpeting was not safe for asana. The instructors were not knowledgeable of modifications for back pain. The students I talked to were not happy, the overall vibes of the place was tense and not good for learning. I want some money back, and for yoga teaching alliance to audit this place. It was not as advertised and the manager/teachers do not practice what they preach. Very disappointing.

PROS Pros: I liked the location, students, and most of the staff

Review by Helen Barefoot from Great Britain

This is not as ashram or a yoga school. This is a hotel

CONS Cons: The place was dirty. But clean. Two yoga teachers were pushy and not trained in yoga alliance. They were not teaching teacher training, modicficadions or adjusting or Anatony for yoga. Food was awful and repetitive and you had to beg for a cup of tea. Manager was unprofessional. No syllabus or structure when I arrived. Classes would get cancelled or teachers not turn up for lessons. Drivers who took me to local market drunk and getting into fights, ripping me off with money. Teachers unhappy and leaving half way through course and several students threatened and did leave. Hardly any mediating or mantras. This is not a ashram that is relaxing, this place is full of drama theatrics. Hotel guests would take up rooms and it was very awkward at times because they would make noise. This place is unit for purpose and should be shut down. Manager did not send course notes to me. I had to do most of the work myself and teach myself.

PROS Pros: I made some good friends and I liked the location

CONS Cons: food; information about how to teach, and what kind of thing is good, and what kind of thing is not good to do with our students ( we got just a little bit of this kind of knowledge)

PROS Pros: My classmates; books about yoga, what was in library,

Organizer response: Dear Martina Hudáková Please note that the course you had applied is a beginner course and have certain syllabus as per manual, although we will take your feedback and will try to revise it in our best possible way. We serve Yogic and vegetarian food which is called satwik food and we want our student to have a yogic lifestyle and its sometime difficult for someone who is not ready for it, we sincerely apologies for it but the three meals which we serve have a adequate amount of nutrition and unlimited served but at the same time we understand. We appreciate your comments and certainly we look on all our feedback with true heart. Thank you again and we wish you all the best. Love and Light

For starters, the location of this facility is breath taking. Practicing yoga near the banks of Ganga or trekking with the group have been some of the most fun and fulfilling experiences of my life. "Being an organizer of helicopter services in Uttarakhand, we had much stress in life on daily basis and my search for Yoga school thankfully come out with best of decision of my life and this 30 days have almost transformed me as person. My 200 hour TTC course was like a full package, specially the Ashanas and meditation classes, although I can’t claim to be perfect student, but somehow have learned the basics of Yoga and I look forward to implement in my daily lifestyle. Before joining this course, I had a roller-costar inside and now I can say that it was my perfect choice. The teachers, kitchen staff, the cleaning boy, I mean everyone was so fantastic and so humble. I will really miss my room from where I can see the flowing Ganga, although I have never been to any yoga school earlier, but I can’t imagine any better location other than this. The Nature walk, the Himalaya, The Ganges, the long Deodar tree, the pine fruit which we use as fuel for our camp fire…Oh My God! this was truly an unforgettable journey…I wish I could have stayed more…maybe soon in coming years!"

"I was at Yoga Bhawna Mission, Uttarkashi for a month for my RYT 200 course and I must say it was one of the best decisions of my life. Firstly the location is enchanting and it's gonna immediately heal most parts of you. The course was well designed with emphasis on yoga as a holistic practice and not merely a fitness tool. The execution was also great with enthusiastic teachers always ready for knowledge sharing. Good facility with spacious rooms and the yoga hall is also equipped with heaters to beat the winter cold. I still miss the simple, yet tasty vegetarian food and a family atmosphere. In conclusion if you are looking to learn yoga in it's real form and not just as a fitness tool, this place is highly recommended."

"This course was very intense, and was very good at times, and very bad at other times. But after taking some time to decompress, I can honestly say I learned a lot there, and enjoyed the time I spent during the training and feel as though I have made invaluable friendships. Despite the difficult times, I would highly recommend this course to others and am even considering returning in a few years for the advanced teacher training."

"Awesome ! I was excited as I never ever went to a hostel in my life and man here is my chance to live life like a boarding school .Enjoyable if you are able to surrender into the schedule and if you are free bird then maybe it will be trouble time in the beginning. The best thing with them is that they have best of faculty and being associated in past with few other yoga school I can bet they teaches yoga in most original way. I would surely recommend all the promising yogi to come over here and learn yoga the way it has been written in the books. I would like to suggest that they should improve the food quality, of course it’s a three time meal but it should be more nutritious and healthy, I would rate food quality as average and its always better to carry your own nuts as some time I felt I was starving or may be due to excessive amount of practice and shanas..Blessings!"

The best thing which I liked about them is that they teach Yoga in its most realistic and raw way although some time it sounds unfashionable but that is what real yoga about I guess. I wish I could have spent some more time .I will look forward."
