Enjoy a vacation before Christmas in Kerala, South India. Get away from the cold and the Christmas rush and give yourself time to relax, unwind, and explore another country and another culture. You will have the chance to practice yoga twice daily with Sivan, early morning meditation with Karen and mindfulness with Maggie. Karen and Sivan, who live locally, will be arranging trips for us to an ashram, an Elephant Sanctuary, a trip to the tip of India taking in a temple on the way and a peaceful trip down the backwaters of Kerala. Sivan will be giving us a cookery class and Karen will teach us Laughter Yoga. They will also recommend local restaurants and show us to the best places to do our shopping.

Accommodation

You will be accommodated at The Beach and Lake Ayurvedic Resort in Pozhikkara Beach, India. You will be staying in a private or a shared double room. The resort has a beautiful beach view with en-suite rooms, a yoga shala, a swimming pool, and two restaurants.

Program

Instructors

Maggie
Maggie is a qualified mindfulness teacher and has been running mindfulness and yoga holidays for four years in Portugal, India, and next year Ireland. She teaches mindfulness meditation for stress reduction, a better well-being, and for creativity, as well as the art of breathing.
Sivan
Sivan is a qualified, professional massage therapist and yoga teacher from India. Sivan is delighted to be offering a Sivananda Hatha yoga class which will include breathing exercises or pranayama, sun salutations, postures or asanas, and a guided relaxation. Sivan brings over 15 years of teaching experience to his classes.
Karen
Karen offers meditation guidance and Laughter yoga.

Retreat location

This retreat will take place at The Beach and Lake Ayurvedic Resort in Pachalloor, Kerala, India. The Beach and Lake Ayurvedic Resort is situated in an idyllic spot where the river meets the sea, between Trivandrum and Kovalem. The Kovalem and Samudra beaches are a short tuktuk ride away, and the airport and city of Trivandrum are less than a 15-minute taxi ride.

Please book your flight to arrive at Trivandrum International Airport (TVR). Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request. You can send the flights details to be met on arrival and transferred to Beach and Lake Resort. Transfers to and from airport 5 GBP per person each way.

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 34% of the total price.
  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 42 days before the arrival date.
