No matter how sporty, non-sporty, stiff, flexible, young, old, thin, obese, or restless you are, or which physical challenges you have, everybody can learn yoga. During this retreat, you will understand what yoga is, how it differs from sports, the observational skills, the alignment, and balance of the poses. Yoga helps you to develop physical, emotional, and energetic awareness. A crucial aspect of yoga is that you make progress by relaxing, not by putting yourself under pressure.
The retreat center is next to Aleid’s home, where she lives with her husband Doby, who is a great vegetarian chef. The rooms are offered only as a service for people who do yoga and therapeutic sessions, there are no other guests not attending a program. There are one large double room and two normal double rooms, all with their own bathroom. This retreat is open all year round, ask for the first available dates.
You will have private use of a double room unless you bring a friend or family member. There is one extra single room only used for last minute emergencies. Aleid and Doby live on a separate floor. In the exotic garden and under the roof of the veranda, you can relax on sunbeds or puffs or take a hammock to where you want.
For the yoga classes, mats and meditation pillows are provided. The yoga has a maximum of five participants and they are given outdoors when possible. From April to October, you can be sure to enjoy outdoor yoga. In January, March, November, and December, yoga classes mix outdoor and indoor instruction.
As soon as the sun is out, Aleid uses an outdoor coaching "office," which is available most of the year. For a donation fee, you can also use the three bicycles and the infrared sauna. Your hosts will try to find a balance between connecting and private space for them and for you.
You will have quite some time for yourself to rest. You are welcome to bring your own books, movies, or music. You can also use the house's collection. Your hosts like to share what they have, so if you need a specific thing, tool, fire pot, paint, or clay, do ask.
During this retreat, you will have daily sessions, except on arrival and departure day. The program will take up half of your days. Planning can be adjusted to your needs. During your stay, you will get four individual sessions of your choice, which can be Reiki, massage, relaxation, meditation, breathwork, or coaching. If you rent a car, you will have time to see more of the island.
Short walks in the hiking routes of the Tramuntana mountain range are included or can be discussed if you would like to visit the neighboring villages or the sea.
