Andrea Manitsas

Andrea (affectionately called “Anj”) is known for her bhakti-filled classes with a whole lotta soul and fierce flow. She warmly invites students on a sacred journey through her unique expression of the Vinyasa flow that is dreamy and dancey while also being smart and intentional. Recognized as a Lululemon ambassador in Berkeley, California, her classes have become synonymous with her love of chanting and her want for connectedness.

She has been learning from the best for over a decade. From the sweet song she learned while chanting with Jai Uttal to the cosmic dance of her Laughing Lotus teacher Jasmine Tarkeshi, from the sumptuous flow she fell for with Janet Stone to the intelligent alignment of Jason Crandell, Anj connects an ever-growing well of experience with impressive music and book libraries to inspire bodies to move and minds to still.

Ashley Corsetti

Ashley is a New England native who’s greatest joy is to teach the anatomy of yoga asana (posture) and to personalize the practice for every-body in an educational, fun and easy to understand approach. Her goal is that yogis step away from each class with newfound knowledge about themselves and their practice, both physically and energetically. She encourages her students to apply the principles of yoga to their daily lives both on and off the mat. Having an extensive clinical massage therapy background and maintaining her own massage therapy practice, Ashley’s classes always offer new and practical tips for optional self care and muscular balance. She has completed her 500 hour yoga teaching credentials through The Institute of Interdisciplinary Yoga Studies with a concentration in Yoga Therapeutics utilizing a more Ayurvedic approach in her sessions. The primary teachers that have greatly influenced her classes are Renee DeTar, Dr. Ray Long, Tiffany Cruikshank, and Erich Schiffmann.

Laurie Greene

Laurie Greene is a PhD in anthropology. She has practiced yoga since age 15, having grown up in a yoga family. Since then, yoga has become her healthy addiction. Always an enthusiastic student, Laurie combines her training in a variety of classical Hatha traditions, bringing insights and techniques from all these to her eclectic teaching and practice. Training extensively in the Iyengar tradition, emphasis is on safety, technique, and proper alignment so that students will get the greatest benefits from their practice and easily experience the joy that yoga affords every fitness level.

Laurie is also certified in Vinyasa flow and is registered with the Yoga Alliance as an experienced teacher and trainer. Her continuing exploration of classical and newer interpretations of Ashtanga Vinyasa have led her to study with many amazing teachers, and to all of them she is forever grateful. Having completed her 500-hour certification with the wonderful Edward Clark and Elizabeth Connelly, Lauries passion lies in blending many styles into a practice that is instructive, creative, and fun. Her masterful adjustments will change your practice.

Nina Endrst

Nina has been practicing yoga for more than 10 years. She grew up watching her mother practice meditation and yoga - an experience that made a profound impression and deeply influenced her approach to wellness. Nina completed her 200-hour RYT at New York Yoga, studying under Michael Gilbert. She simply wants to give students what she continues to receive from her teachers - Love, peace. and simple things that slowly started to change her life.

Nina creates a supportive, warm, and open environment for students to go deeper in their practice. Her Vinyasa flow classes are playful, thoughtful, and challenging. She encourages students to feel the asanas from the inside out, to move slowly and honestly, to be right where they are without judgment. She is inspired by traveling to places outside her comfort zone, both physically and emotionally. She believes in living your yoga, that the asanas are part of something much bigger.

Rebecca Jo

Rebecca Jo began her yoga practice 15 years ago in an effort of physical healing after experiencing trauma to her spine. She quickly understood that flexibility and strength were not simple matters of muscle and bone, but also a challenge to ones sensibilities - a shift in perception that lit the path to inevitable self-discovery. Through the experience of pain, she learned about the healing potential of the human body and has since dedicated herself to sharing that understanding.

With an emphasis on re-focusing energy, Rebecca Jo is able to help connect the emotional stresses of her students to their physical goals through breath meditations, conscious alignment based movement, Qi Gong, self-massage, movement theory, and practices of presence. Trained in the arts of dance, gymnastics, visual imagery and design, Hatha yoga, and awareness through breath centered movement, she incorporates a life time of lessons into each class encouraging her students to integrate practices of conscious flow into daily motion.

Rebecca Jo continues her own study of human anatomy and movement daily, focusing on injury and trauma recovery, stress release, massage, and natural healing in order to deepen her own understanding of the human experience. She leads both mat and standup paddleboard retreats and classes in Tulum.

Wendy Martin

Native to Huntsville, Ontario where she owns Sacred Breath Yoga studio, Wendys teaching style is intimate and inclusive, leaving you with an invitation to begin where you are in your body and allow the journey to unravel from the inside out. She weaves a tapestry of practical guidance, subtle details, and deep insight so that we all may access a pathway to self-discovery unique to ourselves. Wendy is an RYT 500 with 12 years of teaching experience. She follows the roots of the Hatha yoga tradition yet continues to spin an eclectic web of various styles and teaching modalities into her classes. These teachings have been drawn from, the sensitive and body specific teaching of yoga therapy, to the uplifting and spirited style of Prana flow yoga, the inspired method created by Shiva Rea. When we create a yoga practice, a different life begins and the body expresses an aliveness never felt before. This attitude inspires her teaching, inviting us all to uncover and reach continually for our most alive route to life.

Tulum is a yogi's paradise. Tranquil, crystal clear waters, powdery white sand beaches, amazing yoga, great food, Mayan ruins, and healing powers rooted deep inside the earth.

Ayurvedic massage (non-oil)

Based on the principles of yoga, this amazing massage experience expels toxins and provides deep relaxation. Physically it helps all systems of the body, and mentally it helps relax the mind by removing energies that store past tensions and emotional problems in our body.

Coconut milk and honey

This is an exotic blend from the Yucatan.

Joyful feet (reflexology and foot massage)

Beginning with an exfoliation for feet and calves followed by an application of refreshing gel, reflexology points are then addressed to release tension. Reflexology is based on the theory that points on the bottom of the feet are energetically connected to specific areas of the body. By stimulating these points, the corresponding body parts are benefited. Reflexology neutralizes the effects of stress by inducing a deep state of relaxation that calms the nervous system and allows the body to achieve a state of equilibrium. This treatment ends with a mint hydrating cream that thoroughly refreshes your feet. Hot towels are used during this treatment to achieve deep relaxation.

Marine crystals and papaya

These are excellent exfoliants with firming abilities.

Mayan healing massage

The local Mayan shaman, Daniel, accesses your aura seeking out points of resistance and sources of pain within your body. Through a combination of healing techniques and massage, he will cure what ails you. A truly unique experience that will leave you feeling like new.

Nopal and aloe vera wrap

This treatment is recommended for those with sunburned skin. Aloe vera has a calming effect - refreshing, hydrating, and regenerating the skin quickly. Your therapist will apply a cool aloe vera gel all over the body and then wrap you for 20 minutes in a chilled sheet, while you receive a gentle facial massage. A scented moisturizer, made from the exotic tuna, the fruit of the nopal, highlights this experience.

Reiki therapy and massage

Reiki helps release blockages and imbalances in the energetic body (mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual). Paired with a healing Swedish or deep tissue massage of your choice, this combo will instantly uplift the body and soul.

Shirodhara therapy

Traditional Indian treatment where warmed oil is streamed onto the forhead or Third Eye point to offer complete relaxation. This service must be booked 72 hours in advance.

The feel good massage

Explore what it takes to feel good in this learning experience combined with a wonderful relaxing massage. You will be relaxing on the table receiving a massage, while Margo (registered nurse, Reiki master, and certified massage therapist) educates you on the causes of chronic pain and stress through interactive teaching and demonstration. The second half of the massage, go back to a quiet one hour massage, the best of both worlds. This massage will teach you how to carry yourself and deal with chronic pain for a lifetime.

Thai massage (non-oil)

This massage is based on a system of energy lines known as sen. The objective of a full session is to restore balance in your body-mind through many different techniques that include pressure points and general pressure, as well as stretching exercises using hands, feet, and elbows. This technique releases muscular tension, increases blood flow, stimulates endorphins, and boosts the immune system. Please wear loose fitting clothing. This massage is performed on a cushioned mat on the floor.

"I could not have imagined a better experience for my first yoga retreat. Christina took absolutely tremendous care of our small group. She was happy to do some light hand holding in the weeks leading up to the retreat, with my being a little nervous and having lots of questions. Christina's restaurant recommendations were amazing, I could write a dozen reviews for the food in Tulum. Tulum is honestly a magical place, with so much charm and rustic elegance. Everyone I met, from the locals to the expatriates, was warm and friendly. The location of the retreat was so stunning. The beach had the whitest sand and the warmest water. Rebecca Jo was our yoga instructor on the retreat. I did not know what to expect when it came to the yoga practice, as there are so many styles and philosophies, and I am used to very vigorous power yoga. Rebecca Jo led us through the most wonderful series of what I will call workshops, as opposed to classes. Her teaching style and the practice she led us through really opened up my body and mind to something totally new. This was honestly the best thing I have ever done for myself, and I cannot wait to attend another Yoga Adventures Worldwide retreat with Christina!"

"There is no such place as Tulum. Utopia just offers you the best in paradise, an amazing spot right on the beach and close to all the cool bars, restaurants, shops, and great yoga workshops. I have been there twice and long to go back again. Thanks to Christina and her staff. The only thing I would say is that you should not expect top luxury; if you are looking for plush pillows and linen, Utopia is not the place. Although the lack of luxury is more than compensated for by the fact that you are surrounded by the lovely nature of the jungle and the sea. I recommend to bring ear plugs, as the ocean is super noisy at night, it can be intense!"

"This was my first yoga retreat, as well as the first time I committed to sticking with the practice. Nina was the best teacher and spiritual leader and kept her words light and connected. This was one of the best experiences ever; I walked away with a greater and calmer sense of self. I also made friends, who I will be connected to for life! Utopia is an eco-chic home on the beach, which is clean and friendly, with amazing fresh food. I highly recommend this if you need to get away and reconnect with yourself and take a time out from the chaos in life that you no longer need."

"The yoga and spa retreat at Utopia was life-changing. The staff was super attentive, the massage therapist was amazing, and Luna, our yoga teacher, was such a wonderful spirit. She offered the perfect mix of classes, poses, and postures. The food and variety of fresh juices were delicious. We felt completely safe in Tulum at all hours. We went in July, when the weather is hot; however, the location of Utopia, right on the beach, offers a wonderful breeze. Christine, the owner, has developed a wonderful retreat in this perfect location."
