Admire nature's magic and receive its best presents in Yangshuo, China. Experience cultural immersion and outdoor activities, vibrate with the surrounding energies through yoga and meditation, and elevate the 7 days together into mindful and meaningful mystic dreams—vivid, colorful, memorable, and probably transformative.
Apsara means a female spirit of water and air, a word deeply rooted in Indian Hindu mythology. The Chinese name given to the hotel is 'Yun Wu', meaning 'cloud dance.'
A dreamy boutique hotel nestled within wonderfully shaped karst mountains and on the bank of the peaceful Jinbao River, near the magical Moon Hill and beautiful Yulong River and Li River, a region considered one of China's most renowned natural beauties.
You will bicycle together through villages and rice fields, along the rivers and into the mountains; hike up to the top of Moon Hill towards sunrise for yoga and meditation; walk along the scenic Yulong river path to Yang Shuo town, have a nice vegetarian / vegan lunch there and taxi back; try out a Taichi class with a local master one morning; watch the magnificent 'Impression Sanjie Liu' one evening (directed by the most reputable Chinese film director Yi-Mou Zhang, with a cast formed by a few hundred village performers), an impressive outdoor light and sound show beside Li River.
The package also includes hiking and yoga at the top of Moon Hill, group bicycling, walking along the river to Yang Shuo, watching Impression Sanjie Liu show, and Taichi class with a local master. The actual day for these outings will depend on the weather condition and group energy.
Xia has been teaching yoga and hosting yoga events, retreats, and holidays since 2013. After living in Chengdu, Shanghai, Edinburgh, London, and Abu Dhabi for the past 20 years, she has now settled in UK's beautiful Lake District. She obtained her E-RYT 500 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) certificate in Mysore, India after successfully completing a 300-hour yoga teacher training course with Ayur Yoga Eco-Ashram.
This retreat is located near the charming town of Yang Shuo, yet away from the tourist crowd, with hiking / walking and bicycling routes, bamboo rafting, and kayaking / stand up paddling at the doorstep. Apsara Lodge is a clean, comfortable, and convenient base for your outdoor adventures, with a calming and grounding energy setting and friendly staff, ideal for your yoga and meditation practice.
As a Chinese who has been living abroad since 1997, Xia always returns to Yang Shuo whenever visiting China. While the whole country changes at dizzyingly fast speed, Yang Shuo has managed to retain its relaxing pace of life and the authentic essence of rural villages. The sceneries, the people, the ambiance, the nostalgia, each of her visits was like stepping into mystic dreams.
