Our two-bedroom cabin was perfect for our family and two young kids. The view from the deck was beautiful, the full kitchen and furnishings were great, and the cabin was well located. The grounds are very well maintained. The staff is courteous and the activities for the kids are great. Looking forward to next summer already.
Loved YMCA of the Rockies. We stayed in Wind River Lodge. It was roomy, older but clean, and gave the overall feel of a lodge. This was truly a fun adventure for our family. It is a little overwhelming at first with a million activities going on but once you understand where to go and what its all about, it is so great. The art center is a favorite for young and old. They have wonderful crafts going on right and left. Our girls are 12 and would spend hours there if we weren't hiking or outside doing something else. The indoor pool is another plus. We were able to see some elk in the mornings which was fun. We rode horses and did a high ropes course which tested your fear of height level. but the instructors were awesome. We ate in one of the restaurants that was a little more private with a reservation which was really good, but also went into Estes to try the fine dining there. This is definitely a family / dog-friendly place that our family would love to make a tradition. Wi-Fi / phone signal is sketchy in areas, but remember you are in the Rockies! Let loose of the technology and have a blast!
The property was amazing. We loved that it was super dog-friendly. The housekeeping staff could refine their skill set. The bathroom shower could have used a good scrubbing, as well as the oven. Overall, it was a good experience. The staff was very cool.

There are a wide variety of places to stay at different prices. It is very clean and all of the staff were super friendly. There were a lot of activities available. We had a great time. I highly recommend it.

My mom, kids and I spend last week up at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park. I hadn't been since I was a kid with my family and it was as awesome as I remembered. We rented a basic 2-bedroom cabin (dog friendly) and kept ourselves busy morning till night with all of the amazing offerings, everything from swimming and super cool crafts in the craft building to an epic game of capture the flag and an outdoor survival class (building shelters - very fun). Not to mention hikes, trips to Rocky Mountain National Park (you can walk into the park from YMCA) and just good family time in the mountains. They have an incredible staff with lots of college-aged staffers from around the country and even some int'l kids, also a cool volunteer program that lots of seniors take advantage of. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. In addition to the two to four bedroom cabins, they have lodge rooms (no kitchens) and also have several 8-bedroom giant cabins designed for family reunions and such. Big cafeteria which we didn't check out as we had a kitchen in our cabin.Reservations for the summer open on April 1 and it is a little like getting concert tickets, have to get online as soon as possible to get exactly what you want.

The YMCA of the Rockies has an amazing amount of activities for all ages. The accommodation is well kept and maintained and the cafeteria food is good for what it is. However, the throngs of people they need to serve do not always mean that you get good service. Frequently you need to stand in long lines. Also for the thousands if people there the cell phone service sucks. However, they do provide free WiFi..

I stayed here many years ago and little has changed except that it keeps getting bigger. There is nothing fancy about the rooms, clean and comfortable. No televisions, but they do have Wi-Fi. I rented a room with two racks of bunk beds and a queen bed, enough to sleep up to six people at a very reasonable rate. There are lots of things to do there, think of it as a family summer camp. There are plenty of dining options and it is a short distance to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. If you're looking for a great place to stay, this is it.

We've been vacationing at the YMCA Camp of the Rockies for 18 years now. The accommodations have usually met our needs quite well. But we've found the last few visits to have completely exceeded our expectations! We stayed in a rustic two bedroom cabin - fully expecting rustic. But it was actually quite comfortable (leather sofa) and exceptionally clean. The area around our cabin was wooded and fairly private. No air-conditioning needed, because the trees kept us shaded and cool. Hummingbirds and deer abounded! The staff at the YMCA Estes Center is excellent - professional, quick, and friendly. This trip was just for the two of us, but the cabin would have accommodated four people comfortably (with two in bunk beds). Full kitchen-including microwave; Wi-Fi; huge wrap around porch. All this for 149 USD a night!

My wife and I have taken our two boys to Disneyland a half dozen times, Disneyworld once, Europe three times, Hawaii five times. We've been around a bit because our family is spread out among some cool family destinations. That being said, our summer visits to YMCA of the Rockies and the YCamp have been our most treasured vacations. YMCA of the Rockies is an amazing place with some of the world's greatest hikes and scenery. And the summer activities for families never end. The YCamp has everything for the kids - swimming, hiking, archery, wall climbing, rock climbing, horseback riding, games, singalongs, etc. My kids love every day. We also enjoy zip lining and putt putt golf. Their time at camp allows my wife and me to do some of the more difficult hikes in the park. Also, we love heading into town for ice cream and taffy or pizza. But don't think it's all action and go-go-go. We treasure our down time as well. The mornings are so quiet at our cabin. And our cabin has no TV, no radio. It's just gets you disconnected from the world - which we love.
