Yin is in! Yin yoga is getting a lot of attention these days, probably because our “yang” dominated modern lifestyles, call for more balance. Daily stress impacts our body, mind and soul. Though we long to be at ease and enjoy every moment of life, we tend to `keep going’, because we don’t know how else to `keep up.’
The Yin yoga therapy practice is designed to create space for just that, to rejuvenate the body, clear the mind, open up the heart and allow energetic healing to take place. So welcome to the Yin side; an attempt to bring balance and healing to our modern life.

The rooftop open to the cobalt sky is the ideal spot for our yoga practice. Breathtaking ocean views, a sun-rise witnessed here will, undoubtedly, leave a ever lasting impression. The rooftop is also a nice place to chill, watch the action on the beach and check out the healthy bar whenever you get the munchies.
After a day of yoga and exploring, you’ll enjoy relaxing in the comfortable rooms. Choose a double, triple or family room, all with a sea view on one side and land view on the other. The rooms come complete with all amenities such as AC, hot water, ceiling fan and private balcony.

We are happy to provide you with all the information on how to make your way to Arugam Bay and to arrange for airport transfers (taxi, bus or shuttle on your own cost). Also consider a first overnight stay in Colombo if you choose to have a rest first before taking on the taxi journey across the beautiful island to the East coast. Our teacher Eva is already in Sri Lanka to help you to arrange your arrival and to welcome you.

Yin yoga is simple, but not easy. Sometimes being still is the hardest of all asana. The stillness of the floor-based, long held static stretches (with relaxed muscles) create the space to practice mindfulness and cultivate awareness. We embrace our own physical limitations rather than trying to fight against them and work with the body just as it is, and that in and of itself is an amazing thing. We are practicing acceptance, surrendering to gravity, connecting our body to a zen state of mind.
While we are expanding our flexibility and rejuvenate our joints, we reveal and release deep layers of tension held within your fascia. The therapeutic healing wisdom of the Daoist philosophy provides insight and guidance to get in touch with our body, mind, and soul. We get the unique opportunity to release emotional tension, free stagnant or blocked energy, and to cultivate a peaceful quality of mind.
The teachings include the foundations and principles of Yin, the physical benefits of the practice, the meditative and therapeutic energetic effects from a Daoist / Oriental medicine perspective.
With successful completion of the training students will receive a Yoga Alliance affiliated Yoga Teacher Training Certificate from The Body-Mind-Soul Centre (registered school with Yoga Alliance) and a Yin Yoga Therapy Training Diploma as a component of Alexandra Denkinger M.D.(ACU) physical therapy practice, licensed and registered as Doctor of Medicine in Acupuncture M.D.(ACU) by the Indian Board of Alternative Medicine, affiliated with Yoga Alliance as a registered yoga teacher (RYT 500) and owner of The Body-Mind-Soul Centre (RYS 200).

When you awaken and align your body’s underlying energy, you activate your innate process of healing and transformation. We will demystify how energy affects everything you do and feel—and show you how to work with your body and your mind.
We practice sequences according to physical or emotional issues where the alternative medicine aspect of Daoism offers the opportunity to deep healing and profound transformation. You will learn simple principles, tools, and practices that balance your subtle body—which is how physical, emotional and spiritual healing begins—so you can build vitality, unravel energetic blockages, and boost your immunity.
We see teaching yoga as an art fuelled by authenticity and creativity. A students personal practice and the understanding that follows spark the inner teacher and sharing with others will come naturally and spontaneously.
In a Taoist / Zen way, we emphasize the value of breath, meditation and intuition rather than ritual worship or rigorous following of old scriptures and perfect alignments. It matters how it feels much more than how it is supposed to look.
We acknowledges that every student and teacher has his or her own unique presence, energy, and teaching style. The Body-Mind-Soul Centre provides an ideal environment for learning and a practice process, where yoga teacher training courses are presented and practiced in depth.

Alexandra Denkinger, Acupuncture Therapist (M.D.Acu), Yoga Teacher (RYT500), Yin Yoga Expert and founder of The Body-Mind-Soul Centre (registered school with Yoga Alliance). She likes to see herself Body-Mind-Soul Bio-Hacker, an "urban shaman", dedicated to helping people empower themselves to live the most authentic, healthy life possible. As an all-time seeker on a soul-searching journey, she came across many different yoga styles and healing systems. In her Yin Yoga teachings, she integrates the ancient wisdom of Acupuncture Meridians and Chi flow in meditative Yoga practice.
Since she can remember Eva Lisanne Brouwer has been deeply fascinated by life, the body, and health. This interest brought her early in her life to explore alternative medicine, bodywork, naturopathy, and body-mind awareness. A body aficionado, always her passion is for quiet practices. Besides being a compassionate yoga teacher and massage therapist, she is also the Reiki and Yoga Nidra expert. In her early twenties, Eva left the Netherlands and started traveling to further explore and broaden her experience. This brought her to body/mind/emotional awareness training with horses.
