The ethos of the Yin Yoga Therapy Teacher Training is to apply the teachings and practices of the yoga tradition to go on an exploration to investigate the relationship of your body, mind, and soul. Ultimately to gain clarity, to understand your nature, to create harmony between you and others, and to experience freedom and joy. In a Taoist/Zen way, they emphasize the value of breath, meditation, and intuition rather than ritual worship or rigorous following of old scriptures and perfect alignments. Everybody is different, so how a pose feels precedes how it is supposed to look.

Yin Yoga Therapy Teacher Training sees teaching yoga as an art fuelled by authenticity and creativity. A student’s personal practice and the understanding that follows subsequently spark the inner teacher and sharing with others will come naturally and spontaneously. They acknowledge and emphasize that every student and teacher has his or her own unique presence, energy, and teaching style. Yin Yoga Therapy Teacher Training provides an ideal environment for learning and as a practice process, where yoga teacher training courses are presented and practiced in depth.

When you awaken and align your body’s underlying energy, you activate your innate process of healing and transformation. In this course, you will demystify how energy affects everything you do and feel - and show you how to work with your body and your mind. You will learn about acupressure points applied in the poses and sequencing according to physical or emotional issues. The alternative medicine aspect of Daoism offers the opportunity for deep healing and profound transformation.

You will learn simple principles, tools, and practices that balance your subtle body - which is how physical, emotional and spiritual healing begins - so you can build vitality, unravel energetic blockages, and boost your immunity. The five Daoist Elements give you resources of inspiration for your practice and your teaching. Mindfulness will be a subject in focus and we will guide you on how to integrate mindfulness principles to transform a Yin yoga class into a meditation practice and a healing session.

In this course, you will find the opportunity to practice teaching yourself and develop your own style in the art of teaching Yin. Focus is to imply sequences according to the Daoist elements, understanding their energetic value and the subtle art of creating the ideal environment for a transformational experience of body, mind, and soul to take place. By the end of this course, you will feel stronger, healthier, and better able to thrive and flow in the life you are meant to live.

Yoga is about doing the practice according to the capability of your body and growing in your practice every day. Therefore Yin Yoga Therapy Teacher Training feel it does not matter if you are experienced or not, if you are open-minded and open to learning then you are there to start! However, certain programs are more or less suitable for different stages of your yoga journey, just get in touch to discuss which one is best suitable for you.

Although you will benefit from having regular practice before starting, it is not a necessity. It is however advised to have an affinity with yoga and to be familiar with the practice. Check with Yin Yoga Therapy Teacher Training specifically for the requirements for the program.

Attendance policy

Yin Yoga Therapy Teacher Training requires 100% attendance to graduate and receive a certificate of completion from our program. Class attendance will be taken throughout the training. Yin Yoga Therapy Teacher Training program expects students to be on time for class, after breaks, and after lunch. Please let the faculty know if you will be late.

In the case of any emergency absences, please notify the program director immediately. If a student has planned absences that conflict with attendance in the program, please contact the program director to discuss options. Yin Yoga Therapy Teacher Training does not accept unapproved absences and they may result in dismissal from the program. In this case, graduation will be at the sole discretion of the program director.

Each student is responsible for scheduling make-up time with the program director. Students must pay an additional cost for private make-up sessions with a teacher. Each student is expected to be at each session five minutes before the start time in order to set up and so that the training may start on time. If the student is late more than 3 times, this will result in a deduction of 1 hour from their total contact hours. Students recognize that, if they miss training hours that they have not made up, they will not graduate from the program.

A leave of absence from the program will be granted due to medical disability or other extraordinary circumstances at the discretion of the program director. In this case, our refund policy will apply to unused tuition and the student must reapply for the next available session and pay the difference, if any, of any remaining tuition and/or any related administrative fees. Retreat location

Ubud is Bali's prominent art center, famous for its painter’s community, but Ubud is special in more ways than one. You will find emerald green ricefields in the stunning central Balinese foothills, the village also used to be the center for medicinal sources. It has its own magic, and its particularly beautiful surroundings and gracious way of life have drawn travelers and artists from all over the world in recent decades; some have even adopted Ubud as their own home. The magic is easy to find - just take a walk south of the village through its terraced paddy fields to the monkey forest. Freshwater spouts out of the sheer rock at the base of the ravine, and a bath in a secluded, shady spot is purifying.
