Yandara is one of Yoga Alliance’s most successful yoga teacher training schools with over 5000 graduates since 2004 and one of the highest-rated schools at Yoga Alliance. They offer over twenty trainings throughout the year in several different areas of focused study. What makes Yandara special is the ability to inspire you to tap into your unique potential, guiding you along your own personal journey. They believe that being a yoga teacher is far more than cueing movements and breathing; it’s about inspiring your students to be present, and teaching them how to live with purpose, so that they may ultimately reconnect with the true self.
Many yogis that attend Yandara's YTT choose to stay in furnished tents. These are big tents, each with a twin-size bed, a small set of drawers, and a lamp. Bed linens are provided, but not towels. Comfortable and still close to nature. Yandara likes to call it comfort camping. There are 7 bathrooms and 7 showers on the campus.
Learn to teach yoga from the heart. Yandara emphasizes precision alignment as a foundation for any style you choose to teach. They provide you with the necessary skills to create a safe and effective yoga class, all while nurturing your unique gifts and passions. One of the highlights of the Yandara program is the variety of yoga styles offered; you will experience Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, and more. You will be able to practice and teach meditation. Programs are open to all ages and skill levels. They will help you become the best yoga teacher you can be.
A Yandara Yoga Institute 200-hour Teaching Certificate will be given upon successful completion of the program. Students who complete their subsequent trainings are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
Your day starts with sunrise over the mountains and a yoga class to awaken your senses and ready you for the day. After a refreshing shared community breakfast, you then move into your technical training where you break down poses together in the natural beauty of one of their 3 open-air studios. Next, you pause for a delicious lunch focused on health and nutrition for both mind and body, followed by an hour break allowing for time to relax on the beach and connect with your fellow students.
Yandara's focus turns to you as a teacher. They are here to assist absolute beginners in becoming educated and inspiring yoga teachers, as well as to assist seasoned teachers in the deepening and refining of their yoga teaching skills. This part of your day will allow you to become more comfortable in front of a class and take on the role of a confident yoga teacher. You will become not only more knowledgeable in yoga with this training but also more knowledgeable of yourself as they encourage you to carry what you have learned onward to your own students. This supportive and encouraging environment is built to elevate each and every one of the students to their full potential as yoga teachers.
Every night, Yandara offers community activities that are unique and crafted to keep you entertained, engaged, and enlightened. Enjoy music and dance with the local house band, Jaya, comprised of 4 fellow yogis. Join Yandara in the magical experience of chanting, meditating, or sitting back with your fellow students and instructors for an evening of educational films on ground-breaking yoga approaches followed by a group discussion. These evenings are built to encourage our community of students and teachers to connect, have fun, and head to bed with a full heart and soul.
Yandara Yoga Teacher Training follows and incorporates minimum Yoga Alliance Standards:

If you are looking for a training that offers you the time, space, and support to shape your own personal path, all while giving you the tools needed to confidently lead a yoga class, Yandara Yoga Institute is here for you.

Sarasvati brings an open mind and open heart to the mat. A lover of the ocean and the elements, she often ties her classes into the themes of nature. She loves exploring yoga as an expression of the joy and abundance all around her. Sarasvati has been studying and teaching with Yandara since 2009. She is an inspired devotional musician and has had the pleasure of studying mantra and kirtan with her mother, Mercy Ananda. Her receptive and joyful nature invites exploration on the mat and a playful outlook on life.
Anne teaches from a great depth of understanding and inquisitiveness of the human experience and endeavors to assist her students to recognize their own inner beauty and greatness using yoga and yoga philosophy as a modality to access the dimensions of the Self. Anne approaches every class as an opportunity to connect with her own heart center and to create unity with all beings. Her goal is to create a safe, judgement-free zone where people can explore themselves and take what they need from their yoga practice.
