Throughout this retreat, you will have the experience of living in a community while being surrounded by the healing power of nature. Yandara Yoga Institute emphasizes practice and teaching skills, including organizing a class, creating confidence, pranayama, philosophy, and making postural corrections. You will learn to teach yoga with precision alignment, emphasizing heart-felt presence. The curriculum will enable you to formulate and nurture your own personal teaching style.
The accommodation options are on shared double and private double room occupancy basis. A few private rooms are available.
These five principles are part of the Yandara teacher training system that will assist you to become the yoga teacher you want to be.
You will start to practice teaching on the second day and teach daily throughout the training. The institute has found that while it is of importance, gathering information about, or even experiencing yoga is not enough to learn how to impart the wisdom of the ancient practice. Through teaching and receiving immediate personal feedback, you will become more confident. Confidence allows you to relax and let your gifts come through.
At Yandara, proper alignment is valued as an important tool to a sustainable practice. That being said, what is the "proper alignment" for each individual? So many of the different yoga styles sometimes teach conflicting opinions, even about the very basic poses and how to practice them.
Yandara has some options, they can become fanatical about their "style" being the only way or they can go on a quest for the latest in corrections and cues. A third option is offered as well as basic alignment and cuing principles; you will be taught how to cultivate and decipher the language of the body.
You will learn to guide your students to be aware of what their sensations are telling them and how to move safely in the pose. Your inner ears will be trained to hear the quiet voice of the inner guru, the one who is present in your every breath and always ready to align you to you.
To practice with the support of inner alignment allows you to stay in your safety, even while challenging yourself with more advanced asanas. On the same basis, you will learn how to guide your students to find their inner alignment; both with the use of cues and with hands-on assists.
At Yandara, you will learn to access cueing words from the heart instead of from brain memory. Cueing from your heart happens naturally through presence. To set the constantly thinking mind aside and let your heart shine through in your classes, cues will be give a unique and personal touch.
At Yandara, you will learn an open style of yoga which allows you to choose what and how you want to teach in the future. You will get all the tools you need to create a fun and challenging yoga class. To help you build your confidence, as a beginner teacher, one part of the teacher training also consists of learning a set sequence. That sequence is a tool you can choose to use in your future classes for as long as you like.
An important part of the Yandara training is understanding and developing a caring, compassionate nature; this is a big part of unveiling the radiant teacher inside.
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500
Allison Eaton is an international teacher of yoga, Reiki, and meditation. She teaches yoga teacher training and Reiki (hands-on healing) certification training worldwide. Her teaching style is supported by extensive background training in Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Iyengar, and Bhakti yoga as well as meditation. A healthy balance of Yang Flow yoga and Yin Restorative yoga is a central focus of her training at Yandara. Allison is known to draw the authentic self out of her students, empowering them to practice and teach from the heart.
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500
Kim has been teaching yoga for 16 years. She trained mostly in Los Angeles and also in Mexico in a variety of styles including a mix of Iyengar and Ashtanga influences. Her training includes Vinyasa training with Annie Carpenter (500-hour SmartFLOW ) and Maty Ezraty (200 hours). She has also taken a Restorative yoga training with Annie Carpenter and Leslie Kazadi (100 hours) and Ashtanga training with Laruga Glaser, Wayne Krasner, Mark Robberds as well as a spiritual based training with Steve Ross (200 hours).
The training will be held in Bali, Indonesia. You will be staying at the beautiful Shambala Oceanside Retreat on the north side of the island.

As an enhancement to your yoga teacher training, Yandara Yoga Institute offers Reiki Level I or II and Reiki Level III or Reiki Master certification trainings to follow the Bali yoga teacher course.
