This Yin and Restorative training is an elective part of Yandara's advanced yoga teacher training program. You will explore the principals and philosophy of Yin and Restorative yoga, as well as the practices and philosophy of Bhakti yoga and the art of mantra! The days you spend together will be healing and nurturing for the body, mind, and heart. Yandara will prioritize the cultivation of a calmer state of being through daily regenerative practices and activities.
Yandara deluxe tents are spacious, comfortable, and secure, and include a twin bed, mattress, linens, reading lamps, and storage drawers. The tent is 10 feet by 10 feet wide and tall enough for most people to stand. If you remove the rain fly, you have the option of looking up at the stars. You can also choose to bring your own tent.
Bed linens are provided, but bath towel will not be provided. The tents are comfortable and yet still close to nature as Yandara Yoga Institute would like to call it luxury camping. For couples, a larger tent with a larger bed can be offered.
The facility is comfortable but rustic, emphasizing outdoor living including a large enclosed yoga pavilion, flush toilets, and hot water shower facilities as well as kitchen and dining area. Yandara Yoga Institute has six bathrooms and five showers on the campus.
The hot showers and bathrooms are centrally located for all students. Yandara also provides a laundry service once a week. If you prefer, there is a sink for hand washing on site and they supply laundry soap.
Yin and Restorative yoga are gentle, regenerative practices where all the poses are done on the floor, supported by props to encourage deep relaxation, a natural opening of the joints and optimal energy flow through the body. This slow, healing practice is a journey into the heart and soul of your being.
It naturally cultivates inner listening, heightened awareness, compassion, and acceptance for who you are and where you are in each moment of life. Your focus is on both Yin and Restorative yoga. You will learn how to effectively teach these two distinct styles.
The daily morning asana practices will include a mix of Yin, Yang, and Yang-Yin styles. You will explore:
Your day starts as the sun rises with a yoga class to awaken your senses and ready you for the day. After a refreshing shared community breakfast, you then move into your technical training where you break down poses together in the natural beauty of one of Yandara’s three open-air studios.
Next, you pause for a delicious group lunch focused on health and nutrition for both mind and body, followed by an hour break allowing for time to relax on the beach and connect with your fellow students.
After lunch, Yandara’s focus turns to you as a teacher. This part of your day will allow you to become more comfortable in front of a class and take on the role of a confident yoga teacher. You will become not only more knowledgeable in yoga within this training but also more knowledgeable of yourself as they encourage you to carry what you have learned onward to your own students. This supportive and encouraging environment is built to elevate each and every one of the students to their full potential as a yoga teacher.
Every night, Yandara offers community activities that are unique and crafted to keep you entertained, engaged, and enlightened. Enjoy music and dance with Yandara’s local house Jaya Band comprised of four fellow yogis.
Join them in the magical experience of music-chanting meditation or sit back with your fellow students and instructors for an evening of watching educational films on ground-breaking yoga approaches followed by a group discussion.
These evenings are built to encourage the community of students and teachers to connect, have fun, and head to bed with a full heart and soul.
Please note that the travel days are the first and last day of the posted training dates. Please schedule your arrival / departure accordingly. Travel for your yoga teacher training should be booked on the first day of the listed program dates. You will begin regular classes on the following morning.
Those wishing to arrive in Baja early can return to the airport on the day before the program starts to be picked up along with the other students by Yandara's shuttle service. Departure travel should be booked on the last day of the listed training dates. Breakfast will be served on the travel departure day.
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500
Allison Eaton is an international teacher of yoga, Reiki, and meditation. She teaches yoga teacher training and Reiki (hands-on healing) certification training worldwide. Her teaching style is supported by extensive background training in Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Iyengar, and Bhakti yoga as well as meditation. A healthy balance of Yang Flow yoga and Yin Restorative yoga is a central focus of her training at Yandara. Allison is known to draw the authentic self out of her students, empowering them to practice and teach from the heart.
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500
Kim has been teaching yoga for 16 years. She trained mostly in Los Angeles and also in Mexico in a variety of styles including a mix of Iyengar and Ashtanga influences. Her training includes Vinyasa training with Annie Carpenter (500-hour SmartFLOW ) and Maty Ezraty (200 hours). She has also taken a Restorative yoga training with Annie Carpenter and Leslie Kazadi (100 hours) and Ashtanga training with Laruga Glaser, Wayne Krasner, Mark Robberds as well as a spiritual based training with Steve Ross (200 hours).
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500
The lead teacher of Bhakti yoga training is Mercy Ananda (M. A., E-RYT 500). Mercy Ananda is a highly trained musician as well as a certified sound healer. She performs on the many kirtan albums produced by the Mount Madonna Center, Hanuman Fellowship. She is a member of the Sacred Sound Choir with Karuna Ault and chants on their "Mahamrityunjaya Healing Mantra" album. Mercy also performs on many other kirtan albums including the "Shri Ram Jaya Ram" album by Shri Anandi Ma. Mercy has a daily Bhakti yoga sadhana of asana, meditation, and mantra.
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500
Sarasvati brings an open mind and open heart to the mat. A lover of the ocean and the elements, she often ties her classes into the themes of nature. She loves exploring yoga as an expression of the joy and abundance all around her. Sarasvati has been studying and teaching with Yandara since 2009. She is an inspired devotional musician and has had the pleasure of studying mantra and kirtan with her mother, Mercy Ananda. Her receptive and joyful nature invites exploration on the mat and a playful outlook on life.
Yandara Yoga Institute headquarters is a beautiful oceanfront retreat (an almost four-acre nature preserve type property) nestled beside the Pacific Ocean of Mexico's southern Baja Peninsula. They are located 20 minutes south of the magical village of Todos Santos and 40 minutes north of Cabo San Lucas.
The natural setting of this yoga teacher training is as much a part of your experience as the yoga instruction itself. This secluded Baja, Mexico location offers stunning beachfront vistas featuring open-air studios to keep you in touch with your surroundings and all the beauty that nature has to share with you.

Yandara has desert vegetation. From the yoga pavilions and the beach, you have phenomenal views of the Pacific Ocean in one direction and mountains in the other. It is one of the best places to view spectacular sunsets every evening!
Yandara is in a rural, very safe, and crime free location. Stroll the miles of peaceful beachfront or simply relax and meditate to the ever-present rhythm of the waves. Two miles up the beach is one of the premier surfing beaches in North America.
The nearby attraction includes Todos Santos which is just a short 20-minute drive away, designated as a pueblo Mexico (magic town). This beautiful town features art galleries, historic buildings, and the very best in local restaurants. Nearby, you will also find the renowned surfer beach Los Cerritos and the world-famous sandy beaches of Cabo San Lucas.
Students are always amazed and impressed by the wholesome cuisine created by the Yandara kitchen chefs. Meals are prepared with attention, fulfilling the nutritional demands of an intensive yoga program. The abundant meals are prepared with love and quality ingredients, organic when available (some from their own garden).
They have papayas, bananas, oranges, and mangos in the orchard. Special to Yandara’s Baja training are baked potato days with fresh finely chopped garden herbs (fresh dill, chives, rosemary, basil, and thyme), fresh local dorado with garden basil pesto, garden beet and chard salad with balsamic dressing, and samosas with garden fresh parsley / cilantro chutney.
Yandara meals are primarily vegetarian, mostly beans, grains, and fresh vegetables. Fresh local fish (twice a week), boiled eggs, and dairy are optional. Students always enjoy the little extras such as the always full fruit bowl, herbal tea station, drinking water (also used for cooking), and special homemade dressings and sauces.
The kitchen team works closely with unique dietary needs such as allergies and special diets (gluten-free, dairy-free, lactose, nuts, and vegan) are easily accommodated. As they are a small facility, they are not able to accommodate paleo, raw, or other extreme diets. Please consider your dietary needs and contact Yandara Yoga Institue if you have a concern.

Please book your flight to arrive at Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request for 40 USD each way.
One of Yandara Yoga Institute's staffs will meet you at the airport where they will put you into groups so you can share shuttles to Yandara.
It takes about an hour and fifteen minutes by car to get here from the airport. If you are arriving or departing on a day other than the travel days, the cost is 120 USD for a private shuttle.
Take a bus from San Diego to Tijuana and then to La Paz. More detailed travel information will be provided upon registration.
