Accommodation

During your retreat you will sail on the spacious Oceanis 48, with its attractive sleek silhouette and a deck plan it's the optimal sailing vessel for for long cruises. The Oceanis 48 is a handsome boat, which one yacht designer from Beneteau referred to as a “mono‐maran,” due to its near 3‐to‐1 beam‐to‐length ratio. In layman’s terms, that means it’s a wide boat! The whole rear of the yacht folds down into an enormous swimming and lounging platform. It is an expansive yacht, with plenty of space to go with its stylish good looks. There’s five cabins, laid out with two identical doubles forward and back, and a bunk cabin accessed from the rear of the saloon on the starboard side. There’s three bathrooms, two forward for a cabin each, and one accessed from the port side of the saloon opposite the bunk cabin.

Yacht & Yoga Croatia Yoga Retreat Program

This holiday is about sailing, taking the time to enjoy the sea, and having space, both mentally and physically to practice yoga. You will be doing yoga twice a day while sailing around the Kornati Islands Natural Park in Croatia. You will be having the Caribbean-like waters as your personal 24 hours a day pool with mindfulness and yoga.

You will start your day with a 30-minute gentle flow yoga session in the morning to wake up. After a healthy breakfast on the deck, you will set to sail for the islands, where you can snorkel, swim, dive, go for a hike on the rugged coast, or just soak up the sun. After a day of spotting dolphins, sunbathing and relaxing, you will go to a nice little beach for a blissful experience of yoga at sunset. Dinner is served on the board or enjoyed on land, in local restaurants.

The yoga lessons will be Hatha yoga based with a hint of flow. You will apply a more gentle approach in the morning and a combination of dynamic and gentle in the evening. Elements of meditation and breathing techniques will also be included in the lessons.

Yoginis of all levels are welcomed. Yoga is about acceptance and finding what works for your body, not about headstands. All classes are taught with variations for all levels. Yacht & Yoga is a judgement-free environment, where everybody is welcome to relax and discover the bliss of mind and body connection. Setting sail from Split, you will visit other beautiful spots on the way, stopping for some top-notch snorkeling and some Croatian tavernas at night.

Valentina Moressa
Valentina Moressa is an adventurer at heart that has backpacked over 40 countries so far. A big part of her life is yoga, that she started practicing to stay fit, but soon became something more. She traveled to India and became a yoga teacher. She got her training in Rishikesh and now teaches Akhanda yoga, a holistic approach that encompasses breathing techniques, mantras, asanas, relaxation, and meditation. Valentina’s lessons help you to connect with your body and mind, developing a moving meditation practice to promote inner focus and awareness.

Retreat location

This retreat will be taken sailing around the Kornati Islands National Park, Croatia. George Bernard Shaw fell in love with the Kornati Islands and said that on the last day of creation, God desired to crown his work, and thus created the Kornati Islands out of tears, stars, and breath. It is a fitting description of a unique landscape, where the typically karstic terrain makes the stark whiteness of rocks drop dramatically against the deep blue Adriatic Sea.

The 140 islands are riddled with cracks, caves, grottoes, and rugged cliffs, all surrounded by crystal clear blue waters. The majority of the 300 square kilometers is a National Park, helping to preserve its natural beauty and tranquility. Stunning bays and tranquil coves allow you to enjoy quiet nights at anchor, sail mindfully across uninhabited islands, and meditate on deserted beaches.

For this retreat, you will enjoy a menu full of healthy, mostly vegetarian Mediterranean food combined with Croatian delicacies. You will enjoy seven breakfasts, six lunches, and three dinners on board. During this holiday, you will have unlimited access to tea, coffee, milk, bottled water, and fresh juice. When docking at marinas, you can venture out to local pizzerias and trattorias for a truly Mediterranean experience.
