Allison Jones is the co-owner of Wonder Yoga. She found yoga in 2004 during her senior year at Wellesley College. Yoga became integral to her healing from an addiction and childhood trauma. She hit bottom in 2004 and sought out therapy, 12-step programs, yoga, and meditation. Yoga helped her to deal with anxiety and PTSD, feel strong and flexible in body and mind, become comfortable in her own skin, and gain confidence. Several years into her own healing journey, she realized that she wanted to help others experience the benefits of yoga and meditation.
Shira is an English as a Second Language and Art Teacher turned yogi and yoga teacher. She has taught and lived in Ecuador, Mexico, and Bolivia. She is a Buti yoga teacher, a Feminist Theory and Community Development student turned spirituality lover, and self-love advocate. For Shira, a yoga class is so much more than just a class. It is an experience. From the music that orchestrates the movement to the postures that align with the moon, sun, and stars, to the season and time of day, it is all connected and intertwined to be a catalyst for body, mind, and energy healing.
