Join gifted instructors Debbie and Jessyca in a comprehensive and holistic yoga teacher training in Sri Lanka! This magical land is a spiritual sanctuary like no other, and it invites you to come and blossom there like a lotus flower. The instructors have planned and sequenced an intensive curriculum, harnessing the beauty, teachings, and expertise of the local community and Buddhist traditions. This is not just a yoga teacher training! It is an experience!
For this teacher training, you will stay in private or shared glamping accommodations with shared bathrooms at Camp Poe. Aside from sustainable and eco-friendly lodging and a natural healing environment, Camp Poe has great amenities for you to enjoy, including Wi-Fi, in-room fans, slack line, hammocks, surfboards, a pool, treatment room, lecture space, recreation room, pool table, library, and more.
To join this teacher training, one must have one to two years of personal yoga practice and must be open-minded. Arrive with a willing heart and desire to move toward a life of a yogi and to have the most rewarding experience. It is also important to arrive well rested and with a focused mind.
Yoga teacher training is not a two-week retreat or vacation. Do not arrive overly tired with a body that is unprepared for the long (but rewarding) days. You must be present in body, mind, and spirit. Read as much as you can about yoga philosophy, history, and various styles of yoga, and try different classes from a variety of instructors in different venues as possible.
The teacher training will include Ayurveda teachings, sound healing, Reiki light work, surfing, Buddhist traditions and teaching, Vedic native art, plant medicine, and so much more. There will also a vibe tribe opening ceremony with traditional Kandyan dancers, poya observance and alms, a professional photoshoot, as well as DIY spa and self-care workshops. The classes will be held only from Monday to Saturday.
This Yoga Alliance-approved curriculum will prepare you as a yoga practitioner and professional, and the serendipitous setting of Sri Lanka will augment your transformation by providing a warm loving environment rich with culture and strength in community. At the end of the course, students that successfully fulfill all the requirements will receive a 200-hour yoga teacher training certification recognized internationally by the Yoga Alliance.
Aside from the lectures, this yoga teacher training includes temple visits, wildlife adventures, and a tour of the Galle Fort. You will also enjoy a surf lesson, a healing gong bath session, and a shaman experience.
