Angela fell in love with yoga the first time she stepped on a mat over 20 years ago. After working as an Aerial acrobat in Brazil, she realized she was in desperate need of some grounding. Before she knew it, she was a certified yoga instructor with training in Hatha, Iyengar, Ashtanga, Kali Natha, Gentle and Restorative yoga therapy, Thai yoga body work, Reiki, breath work, mindfulness, and crystal healing. She likes to focus on the physical healing aspect of yoga and enjoys helping her students find their own inner strength and balance.

This retreat will take place in Azores, Portugal. Azores is an autonomous region off of Portugal's coat making it a remote and untouched, nature lover's sanctuary. The Azores islands sit on an archipelago in the mid-Atlantic Ocean, making its climate a lush and distinct one from the mainland Portugal. The beautiful islands are characterized by a vast array of dramatic landscapes, fishing villages, green valleys and pastures, and hedgerows of blue hydrangeas. The vegetation is lush and the scenery striking.

The food served is taken from local farm to your table. It's fresh, just-caught seafood, seasonal, and flavorful meals.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at João Paulo II Airport (PDL). Azores has its own airline, SATA International, that offers limited direct flights from Boston, Massachusetts, and Oakland, California, to Azores. It flies from Boston's Logan International Airport (BOS) to Ponta Delgada Airport / João Paulo II Airport (PDL) in the city of Ponta Delgada on Sao Miguel, the largest island in Azores. It is the main airport for international arrivals to the island.

From June through September, SATA International offers flights between the two cities six days a week. In the off-season, it only offers direct flights two times a week. Also during the summer season, you can get a non-stop flight from Oakland International Airport (OAK) in Oakland, California, to Lajes Field Airport (TER) on Terceira Island, the third largest Azorean island.

The Lajes Field Airport (TER) is part of a military base shared with Portuguese forces and the U.S. Air Force. Flights travel between Oakland and Terceira two days a week from June through September, as of publication. If you are unable to get a direct flight from Boston or Oakland, you can still get to Azores from any international airport in the country. You will just have to connect in mainland Portugal or another European country first.

Portugal's national airline, TAP Portugal, offers many flights from major U.S. cities to Azores, via the Portuguese cities of Lisbon or Porto. Other airlines that will get you to Azores through a European city include US Airways, Lufthansa, and SATA International. The city you leave out of as well as the airline you fly will determine the number of connections you will make before reaching Azores.
