Meditation is the key to your inner essence, the space of divine oneness. So what we do is show you techniques you can use so you can relax much deeper and get in touch with your core and heart.
Since the ayahuasca experience occurs in a modified state of consciousness, the spiritual insights, visions, symbolic messages, and communications received during the ceremonies can be difficult to understand. Meditation can help you to create a mental space for the new visions and insights and may improve memory and give clarity of mind.
Every day we will start with meditation before the yoga class and will always include meditation during other activities so you can practice to include it in your daily life.
Prana means "life force" and yama means to "restrain" for the purpose of cultivation. Pranayama, the practice of ancient yogic breathing techniques, consciously controls the flow of breath, and thus enhances the flow of energy in the body. A regular, balanced pranayama practice increases prana (life energy), thereby inviting greater mental clarity. We will provide instruction and practice of pranayama techniques that you can integrate into your daily practice.
The ancient practice of yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual discipline that leads one to a state of peace. Within the journey of yoga, one may attain health benefits and spiritual awareness. Every day, you will have the opportunity to practice yoga with one of your wonderful yoga teachers.
Classes will be held on the shore of the ocean to strengthen both the spirit and the body. And of course - for your pleasure. The teachers will modify each class to suit the audience, making the classes both beginner-friendly and challenging enough for the more experienced yogi.
Throughout the course of the retreat, you will participate in sharing circles. These sharing circles function to help you build trust in one another and the medicine, to learn from each other, and to open ourselves up to vulnerability. Sharing throughout such powerful spiritual experiences also help you to forge strong connections, trust, and cohesion amongst the group.
All of the trust and support inspired in you through these sharing circles help you to go deeper into the plant medicine work. In addition, you are always welcome to seek private consultations with your facilitators.
Ayahuasca is often referred to as the Grandmother Spirit, it can be a transformative experience to the center of yourself, to the center of the Mother Earth and it may open one to great wisdom and deep connection.
In a traditional ceremony, we meet the healing power of this original medicine growing in the heart of the Amazon. This elemental source helps open our hearts and minds to the mysteries of life.
The secret plant has been used for thousands of years by the indigenous people of South America not only as a medicine, but it is also, of course, a basic application in the path of the spiritual path. Ayahuasca work is about holistic cleansing, healing, and learning.
It is suggested in the weeks before drinking ayahuasca that you have to prepare your body to receive the medicine. This includes avoiding too many fried foods, caffeine, spicy foods, dairy, and meat. Basically, fresh clean, and natural foods with a high ratio of fresh vegetables and fruit is the best way to prepare. Also, you are asked to refrain from using recreational drugs and alcohol for two weeks before attending.
The Temazcal is a Mayan sweat lodge, a ritual of gratitude to Mother Earth and the Universe. This ceremony helps eliminate toxins, purify the respiratory and digestive systems, stimulate blood circulation, and many other benefits.
The idea behind this cleansing is to remove energy that blocks that our physical and spiritual bodies pick up in everyday life. The ritual can also be used to celebrate a new phase in life. It removes past influences so that you can move fearlessly into the future.

One of the most important aspects of working with Ayahuasca is adhering to a honored tradition of following a special diet in order to prepare not just the body, but also the mind and soul to incorporate the healing energy of Ayahuasca.
This diet also shows the spirit of ayahuasca your intention, and is a test of discipline and commitment.
Wild Spirit Travel recommends that guests begin their diet at least seven days prior to drinking Ayahuasca and continue the diet for seven days after the last Ayahuasca ceremony. A minimum of five days before or after is recommended if seven days isn’t doable. On one level, the diet involves shifts in the food that we digest, but equally important are the changes in what we ingest mentally and energetically.
During your retreat, you will be provided with an optimal diet of fresh fruit and vegetables, rice, quinoa, oats, legumes, pastas and eggs. The retreat serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner according to a fixed schedule, with dinners being skipped during ceremony nights.
Please alert Wild Spirit Travel of any food allergies or needs so that they may prepare and accommodate you.
