Day 1: Friday

Wild Running can collect you from Ivybridge Station for free or from Totnes or Plymouth upon request (for a 10 GBP supplement) or they will give you directions to the camp, which is easily accessible from the A38 near Plymouth.

They aim to do an ice breaker limb loosening run of between 4 and 5 miles at around 5:30 p.m. for anyone who is able to arrive by then. From 7 to 7:30 p.m., enjoy an evening meal cooked by the staff.

There will be a bedtime story with Ceri. He will talk about his experience of living with Kipchohe Keino, double Olympic champion at his orphanage in Kenya as a teenager, and his experience of befriending and training with Zimbabwe’s top distance runner and asylum seeker Williard Chinanhu and how his attitude to running informed his life. Take the rest of the time to relax and bed in.

The catering regularly receives four-star ratings, thanks to the incredible Dartmoor Larder, whose locally sourced, vegan-based cuisine has been a lifelong passion for the former chef, Sandy. As anyone who has been on the camps can testify, Sandy’s food is in itself, a reason to sign up and she is now giving talks on nutrition, to supplement her cooking! Lucky you!

Evening meals can be enjoyed around the table with your fellow guests. You will be asking for the recipe! Sandy can also cater to any dietary requirements that you may have. Please just make them aware of your dietary needs at least one week prior to your escape.
