This retreat gives you the chance of rejuvenation with gong bath, yoga, meditation, pranayama, and a workshop. A gong bath is a relaxing sound healing which is comparable to meditation. You make a nice warm nest on the floor and lay down, as your instructor plays his ancient gongs. The sound vibrations take the brain state from alpha, beta and into theta where you will experience a deep healing and relaxation. This retreat is open for all levels, abilities, and ages.
During this retreat, you will be accommodated at Wolsey House, Thrupp. There is an option to stay at the shared room (2-3 people) and Single room.
Roger and his gongs are notoriously enchanting and they play a major role at Om & Bass Wellbeing Festival every year. Now is your chance to have some quality time with Roger. You will be guided in a delightful Hatha yoga practice. He is an extremely experienced and learned yoga teacher with a great sense of humor and a grounded human attitude towards life and practice. You'd be mad not to come and enjoy him and his massive gongs!
Rach will be there to add her flavor to the weekend with humor, Yin and Yang yoga, meditation and pranayama. Rach has taught weekend retreats at Braziers Park for around five years and is coming up to her fourth annual Om & Bass Wellbeing Festival on the site at Braziers Park. Rach has a light-hearted approach to yoga and life, endeavoring to ensure that no one feels self-conscious or out of place on her retreats.
In addition to the above yoga, meditation, breathing, and relaxation, Wild Human offers long walks and an organics self-care products workshop with Susie of Alchemisty, making lip balm to take home with you. Susie is really knowledgeable about nature’s ability to heal and she has some great tips for you to take away.
The weekend starts on Friday with arrivals from 15:00. Open meditation starts at 15:00 Food is served at 18:30-19:30, followed by welcome and gentle relaxation practice at 20:30.
Saturday and Sunday are packed with classes and workshops, delicious meals, twice daily tea breaks with snacks and free time to relax and unwind. Sunday finishes at 17:00 with no evening meal.
Rachel Cox has a background in dance, art, martial arts, and law. She returned to her first love of holistic therapy. It came naturally to her as she had been raised in an environment that welcomed and encouraged complementary therapies. Rachel has traveled the world to complete her various training and brings her unique zest for life to everything she does.
Roger has had a lifelong fascination with yoga and various Eastern philosophies, as well as Shamanic indigenous native north and south American cultures. He started a Hatha yoga practice, initially, and principally self-study from books in 1972. His teaching is thoughtful, intelligent, insightful, and often playful. Using Nada yoga (gongs and Himalayan singing bowls) in class to raise consciousness. Teaching primarily from a tantric perspective, his classes will always vary according to students needs, with neither age, inexperience, nor injury being a barrier.
Susie is really knowledgeable about nature's ability to heal. She will hold a workshop on this retreat.
