Wild Fig Retreat is a boutique villa and retreat centre nestled in the wild, mountainous green region of Zakynthos island in the Ionian Sea. The cornerstones of Wild Fig Retreat are rejuvenation, reflection and reconnection - an alluring escape from the stresses of daily life surrounded by 18 hectares of pure nature.

Wild Fig is thoroughly committed to reducing its environmental impact by actively participating in standards that are in harmony with the earth’s natural resources. They produce their own organic wine and olive oil and grow much of the food they eat. Come to Wild Fig and uncover what matters.

Villa and activity space

The villa consists of six bedrooms, all with private bath and three en-suite apartments. The beautiful artistic eco-accommodations are lovingly appointed with artifacts and décor from the owner's travels in Europe, Africa, and South America.

Room accommodations are as follows:

1. Single Room (queen bed and private bath and balcony)

2. Double Room for 2 (Queen bed or two single beds, private bath and balcony, some have additional sleeping loft)

3. Three-Room Suite, (2 Rooms with Queen bed and one room with Full bed, shared private bath and huge balcony)

4. Master Suite (huge room with Queen bed and large Private vernanda)

There is a huge 8 x 16 meter private swimming pool, Jacuzzi and pool house / bar, hiking trails on the property, a vineyard, and many olive and fruit trees. fast Wi-Fi, A/C, a huge fireplace, and central heating.

There is a large common area and gourmet kitchen, with a dining hall that seats 15 around one long table. There is a large, airy yoga pavilion in a separate space from the villa with 360º views of the organic farm and towards the sea.

The space has a ceiling but otherwise is open air with ceramic tile flooring which looks like wood. Fans on the ceiling provide a cooling breeze during the warmer months.

Yoga and meditation can also be practiced on the large pool deck, in the gardens, inside the main living room with a wooden floor, and on the enormous second-floor veranda overlooking the sea. There is a sound system and mats and props can be provided for a small fee.


Harvest organic wine while sharing stories, resources, creating community and collectively visioning a better world. The retreat is a sanctuary, safe space and healing portal for women who want to dig deeper into their lives, spiritually and creatively, explore a new venture, find your purpose, while taking Vinyansa, Hatha, Yin and Restorative yoga classes, hikes in nature and swims in the glorious, cerulean blue Ionian sea.

You will walk away with your very own bottle of wine, harvested by you! Meals are vegan, vegetarian and organic, cooked by a local chef with ingredients from the 18-hectare ego-farm, you will make your very own olive oil and herbs.

September 17 to 21

Four full days and one half-day of retreat, including:

Early morning yoga taught by certified instructors or guided hiking

Meditation and breakfast

Morning sessions taught by retreat leaders and participants (sample themes)

Afternoon excursions or private time

  • Guided boat excursions to exquisite swim coves

  • Field trip to ancient monasteries and the Church of Mary Magdalen
  • Wine harvest, work in the vineyard and make your own wine


Evening special sessions (one on ones, massage, film screenings, music, dance)

Included excursions

Included in the retreat are four main excursions, but you can book last-minute inspired trips also. Transportation during the excursion is included.

  • 3-hour boat trip to the famous Navajio or Shipwreck Beach and Blue Caves
  • Winery Field Trip after you harvest your grapes to see how it is processed locally
  • Meditation trip to an All-female Monastary and Mary Magdalen Church in Maries Village
  • Early-morning swim at Stenitis Private swim cove (clothing optional)

Retreat location

Wild Fig Retreat is located in the northwest part of Zakynthos, about ten minute drive to Porto Vromi, where you can visit the famous Navagio (or Shipwreck Beach) and the Blue Caves. The unique villa is nestled in a wild and green valley, surrounded by ancient forests, with no other hotel, home or development in sight. You will love the exquisite views and sunsets.


Wild Fig Retreat runs an eco-farm and makes their own organic olive oil, wine and maintain a kitchen vegetable garden. They have chickens that produce fresh eggs as well. All produce is harvested fresh and served the same day or next. Bread is from local bakers, and most products they don't produce themselves they source from local farmers, including cheese and milk.

Meals are predominantly vegetarian with options for local Zakynthian delicacies like roasted lamb, goat, and wild rabbit. Vegan options are also available upon request.

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Zakynthos International Airport (ZTH). Zakynthos is a large, green island in the Ionian sea with its own airport, Zakynthos International Airport (ZTH). Travel to Zakynthos is possible via direct flights from many European cities during the summer months, (Gatwick, Milan, Barcelona, etc) and Athens itself. It is a 45-minute flight from Athens.

Please email Wild Fig Retreat for schedules if you cannot find updated information online. They provide airport transfers at additional costs.

Arrival by ferry

You can also drive from Athens to the city of Patra and take the ferry from Kilini Port (a 5-hour trip). Another option is a ferry from Italy, Brindisi Port has a Ferry to Zakynthos. Please email Wild Fig Retreat for schedules if you cannot find updated information online.

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 25% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 15 days before arrival.
