The lodges and farmhouse are surrounded by protected woodland. The rooms are both spacious and cosy, and perfect to relax and unwind. The accommodation is spread across the grounds and houses and barns for your retreat activities, a farmhouse, and several luxury lodges and shepherds huts! An infrared sauna is also available for guests to use.

Yoga

Yoga provides a myriad of benefits when it comes to managing hormones and energy levels for both pre and post-menopause. De-stressing is critical to balancing the hormones that affect your moods and energy and the meditative nature of yoga is a powerful tool in calming your psychological state. Your stress (adrenal) glands come under enormous pressure at this time and dysfunction in this area is a strong contributing factor to a number of symptoms ranging from energy issues to anxiety.

Yoga helps manage these symptoms as well as those pesky hot flushes that can be so debilitating. Jess is a very experienced teacher and skillful at teaching groups whilst at the same time making sure people have the individual support they need. You do not need to have had any previous yoga or meditation experience to benefit from the program.

Meditation is a key tool to aid stress reduction and the benefits of this ancient practice are now backed with modern science. It shows the positive effects on the stress pathways in the brain. Meditation will be a key part of the retreat and you will have the tools you need to continue practice at home. A guided practice takes place both in the mornings and in the evenings and you know from feedback how deeply relaxing and beneficial this is.

Nutrition

What you eat and drink really is crucial for happy hormones. Your hormones play a part in the health of your hair, skin, libido, weight, muscle tone, and much more besides. As fluctuations happen, it is important to make sure your nutrient intake is optimal and that you are mindful of the less favorable lifestyle choices you may make.

Knowledge is power and understanding what is going on in your body and how to manage changes is empowering and puts you in the driver’s seat. This retreat will provide you with the knowledge and the tools to manage your symptoms more effectively and move through the changes with more grace and ease.

At the last retreat, We Are Nutrition explored the symptoms as a group, shared experiences and tips, and went home armed with new information. The guests enjoyed the informal nature of the workshops and felt better informed in terms of how their bodies were behaving. The previous retreat attendees explored topics most important to the health of women and plan similar workshops exploring hormones, fasting, weight management, and much more next time.

Fair Oak Farm is nestled in the 12 acre Sussex country estate and set within wonderful gardens. The accommodation includes a stunning Grade II Listed Sussex farmhouse (c1600), a range of converted Grade II Listed farm buildings and barns, eco-lodge tree houses, and shepherd’s huts.

The accommodation is set amongst stunning Sussex countryside with protected land surrounding the estate. Spend your free time walking the numerous footpaths that lead from the estate or simply sitting amongst the lush gardens that will be bursting with blossom in May, a perfect month to experience the beautiful trees and shrubs

You are delighted to have Kirstan Horn as your retreat chef. Kirstan acquired his passion for food from his early travels through South East Asia, Australia, and India.

He honed his skills in the restaurants of London working with such chefs as Peter Gordon at the Sugar Club and Adrián Benobas at 1st Floor. He is currently head of product development at The Chapel and Swan Smokery who supplies some of the countries top eateries and hotels. Kirstan does regular pop-up events in Cambridge with chef Maoz Alonim as well as catering for retreats where he specializes in making healthy but delicious vegetarian dishes and will be working closely with Charlotte to provide a delicious, healthy, and nourishing menu.

Arrival by train

The nearest station is Stonegate Station which is an 8-minute drive away. You will be met at the private entrance.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 50% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 21 days before arrival.
