Waterwalk India brings an exclusive retreat getting together the benefits of yoga and stand up paddle. You will have the unique experience of meditation, yoga, and mantra chants inside the shala, in nature, and in the sea. You will be in the water alongside traditional fishermen and dolphins with practice of stand up paddle, surf or SUPrana. Enjoy exquisite organic meals while listening to the waves in a peaceful seaside resort.
Accommodation will be arranged at the beautiful Ashiyana Yoga Retreat Village. This beautiful stay has a unique architecture with wood houses or beach bamboo huts or luxury eco-lodges, tree-houses and stone-built houses set amidst lush tropical gardens, statues, and water features. The lodges and tree-houses are built of local wood, giving an Indonesian feel, though most finishing touches are borrowed from classical Indian design, with plenty of natural fabrics and antique furniture.
This retreat includes daily sessions of yoga, meditation, chanting and SUP or surf. Every day is designed to be different yet progressive from the experience of the previous day. Afternoons and nights are free for the participants to taste local food or get a spa treatment, of which there are a variety of beautiful options.
Cedric was born surrounded by mountains in Valais, Switzerland. He initially assuaged his search for adventure by climbing, skiing, and snowboarding. A natural passion for teaching leads him to the federal patent snow sports. It was only later during his first trip to Asia in the 90s that he discovered a real attraction for water through surfing in Indonesia. At the same time, he learned yoga in Bali and Australia
Tapashi Devchoudhury was born in a Hindu Brahmin family amidst the serene valleys and rolling hills of Northeast India. Tapashi was introduced to yoga very early in her life by her father. Her mother passed on her knowledge of ancient Hindu philosophies and the subtle meanings of Sanskrit shlokas and mantras. In course of time, she took to meditation on her own. She later followed a teacher training course in the tradition of Hatha yoga at Yoga Vidya Gurukul, a traditional Indian Ashram.
The retreat will take place in the small and calm village of Mandrem in Goa, India.
Two meals, including organic buffet style brunch and dinner, will be served during the retreat. organic, vegetarian food is served at all times, apart from Wednesday and Saturday evenings when an additional seafood dish is offered.
