Take a journey to your inner self, rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit, reconnect with mother nature, and explore the amazing Indian culture on the beaches of Goa. This yoga holiday combines challenging, intense, and dynamic Power Vinyasa flow classes that are complemented with a few sessions of Yin, allowing you to surrender to the stillness.
The accommodation options are on private and double room basis. Bamboo Yoga Retreat is designed to blend beautifully with the breathtaking natural surroundings. Built on the fine white sand every season after the monsoon rains and using local organic materials, the bungalow style beach huts are simply stylish, comfortable, private, and eco-friendly.
Located directly behind the ocean shala and beach-front lounge and just steps away from the Patnem beach, the boutique bungalows are designed to help you reconnect with nature. Whether watching the eagles soar overhead from the hammock on your balcony or falling asleep to the sound of the waves, the normal stresses of life will melt away and you will feel open to a more profound yoga practice.
Each bungalow beach hut at Bamboo Yoga Retreat has one double or two single beds with comfortable European style mattresses, good linens, mosquito netting, and set in a spacious airy room with plenty of room to hang your clothes and store your belongings.
Constructed to make use of the natural ventilation from the cooling sea breeze, it also has ceiling fans for more tropical times of the year. Attached bathrooms with Western style toilets are open to the sky for the magical experience of showering under the stars.
Regular housekeeping is available, with fresh linens available upon request. Although, guests are asked to bring their own towels for the beach. The bungalows can be locked when you go out and free Wi-Fi is available in the lounge area.
During this retreat, you will practice yoga two to three times a day, either at the shala overlooking the sea or directly at the beach. Waite Power Yoga also offers guided meditations and pranayama and one-on-one sessions to help you improve your private practice. All levels of yoga will be catered, the instructors will modify poses so everyone can practice at their own pace.
This retreat will be held in Bamboo Yoga Retreat, Patnem Beach, Goa, India. Goa is India’s smallest and, as some would say, most friendly state, boasting some of the best beaches in Asia. However, it is not just sand, sea, and sunsets. Goa’s mix of Indian and Portuguese heritage means that you will find white churches poking out from the coconut palms along Hindu temples.
Patnem beach is a very safe place for guests to arrive alone and go out at night. While some of north Goa has suffered from over development, the far south is still unspoiled with its lush mountain range, beautiful backwaters, and long golden beaches. You will find the resort at the far southern end of Patnem beach in the Canacona state of south Goa.
The resort is close to the acclaimed Agonda beach and one beach down from the famous Palolem beach. Patnem beach has a wide selection of souvenir stalls, restaurants, and nightlife. The local town of Chaudi has banks and ATMs, a supermarket, well-stocked chemists, and a colorful Saturday fruit and vegetable market.
Patnem high street has a useful mix of internet cafes, money exchange and travel agents, and shops selling clothes and souvenirs, alongside everyday essentials such as toiletries. While the social life in Patnem mostly consists of some sunset cocktails at one of the beach shacks with occasional live music nights, there are regular parties in Palolem and a weekly night event with international DJs at Leopard Valley, an incredible outdoor club in the jungle on the way to Agonda beach.
All your breakfasts and dinners are included in the package. The food, like every part of this retreat, is all about flexibility and balance. It is wholesome and nutritious, cooked with love and without compromising the flavors. The restaurant focuses on healthy locally sourced food, organic whenever possible, and international cuisines by the team of highly trained passionate chefs.
To start your day, a freshly squeezed juice of the day will be prepared, which could be watermelon and ginger or pineapple, lemon, and mint, to cleanse your body and give you the energy boost for your sun salutations. There will also be a big, fresh, and tropical fruit salad every morning.
A big brunch is served after the morning yoga session, which can include homemade yogurts, local Goa breads, and eggs and muesli with some Indian inspired vegetable dishes and salads for those who have built up an appetite with their exertions. You will then relax and watch the waves from the beach side lounge with a herbal tea or Indian chai.
A selection of snacks, salads, super juices, and smoothies are available all day at the restaurant, along with daily specials based on seasonal produce from the local market. You will be served a selection of teas and locally baked cookies in the afternoon before your yoga class to give you an energy boost.
For dinner, the menu changes daily and includes delicious Indian and Asian vegetarian dishes, salads, and fresh and sustainable fish. Seafood is also possible to order. All of the meals are lovingly prepared to help your body’s restoration and growth, but most of all to taste great. If you have special dietary requirements or just do not like spicy food, please let Waite Power Yoga know.
