This prenatal yoga teacher training course is registered with Yoga Alliance and designed for the yoga teachers who are interested to teach prenatal and post-natal yoga. This is a special program designed to protect the health of the mother and the baby inside the womb. Here students will learn different techniques of yoga, pranayama, meditation, and so on as well as the proper understanding of a health of a pregnant woman.
Shared and private rooms are available according to your interest. The rooms are clean, airy, spacious, ventilated, and well maintained. There are laundry services, hot water, and Wi-Fi facilities that are also available. You'll be provided a shared room with all the basic amenities like attached bathroom, 24 hours water supply, hot water heater, bathing shower, wardrobe, and so on.
Students who complete the training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
A high degree of self-motivation is required for all aspects of the course. The practice and especially the teaching of yoga demand a high degree of self-discipline and purity. To ensure the success of the program, participants are required to attend all spiritual activities, meditation sessions, lectures, and asana classes. Meat, fish, eggs, black tea, coffee, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and nudity are prohibited during the course as they are counterproductive to the yoga practice. Participants who do not comply with the school rules may be dismissed from the course.
In order to graduate from this program, you'll have to pass a written and a verbal test. The decision will be based on your performance, attendance, and behavior.
All classes are mandatory. Only in case of an emergency or illness one can take leave with respected teacher permission. Uninformed leaves won’t be accepted and this will effect on student monthly performance.
Wednesday is considered a half day. This is a time for deep reflection. Students are encouraged to work on self-study in order to gain a better understanding of the lessons and apply them to their personal experiences. Classes conclude at lunch and students have the remaining day to practice meditation and study while also attending the nightly Ganga Aarti, scheduling their complimentary Ayurvedic massage, and go white water rafting.
Ayurvedic massage therapy for healing and detoxifying body, mind, and spirit helps stress reduction and is implemented therapy with herbal oils. It incorporates an aromatic combination of oils prepared with herbs warmed and blended to your Dosha type. It is a very dynamic and unique experience.
Every evening, as dusk descends, it's time for the Ganga aarti to be performed at the three holy cities of Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Varanasi. It's a very powerful and uplifting spiritual ritual which includes a fire ceremony, a kirtan celebration, and the offerings to the river Ganga.
Bharat Mandir Temple is the temple of Lord Vishnu and is many of thousands of years old. Some parts were destroyed by the Muslim invaders but the traditional Sanskrit school still operates there today. There is a Banyon tree that is approximately three thousands years old and is a very sacred place for Hindus to pray and meditate in. The students will be able to enjoy a meditation experience there and also get to learn about its history in the museum.
All teachers are qualified yogis, some are with master degrees of yoga sciences and some are with master of arts degrees. In order to attend the orientation program, one should arrive at least a day before the start of the course. On the first day at 10:00 a.m. the course will start with a yoga ritual. On the last day of the course, the graduation ceremony takes place and it finishes by 7:00 p.m., therefore, departure should be planned one day after the completion of the course.
You'll have some breaks during your daily schedule. Sundays are free days as there are no classes, so you'll have time to discover the surroundings.
There are a few books that you'll have to read during your course. It is your choice to start before your arrival or once you are at school.
The yoga teacher training course is suitable for everyone as Vinyasa Yoga Academy is committed to teaching you from the very root of yoga through all aspects, so no experience is necessary. It is also possible to attend the teacher training course with your partner.
Students will have Sundays to relax and rejuvenate after their heavy schedule throughout the week. Vinyasa Yoga Academy organizes several activities for the students to participate in during their day off and all activities are included in the students fee. This is a great chance to spend time together outside of the classroom while getting to know Indian culture and landscape.
Kunjapuri temple is one of the must-visit places of Tehri district not just because of its story related to gods and goddesses but also for the panoramic view of Garhwal Himalayan peaks like Swarga Rohini, Gangotri, Banderpunch, and Chaukhamba to the north and Rishikesh, Haridwar, and DoonValley to the south. The temple Kunjapuri is situated on the top of the hill Kunjapuri 1,676 meters high, seven kilometers away from Narendra Nagar, around 15 kilometers from Rishikesh, and 93 kilometers from Devaprayag, blessing the passersby.
Ashram visits are a favorite of the students in Rishikesh. The Beatles Ashram is one of the most popular sites you can visit during the sightseeing adventure. Other ashrams include the Kriya Yoga Ashram and the Shivananda Ashram. These are considered spiritual labyrinths which are dedicated to the practice of yoga and made popular by their famous yogis who practiced there.
An ancient face where great Sage Vashistha meditated. As per indy mythology, Sage Vashistha was a mamas putra of Lord Brahma and one of the seven great sages. Located 25 kilometers from Rishikesh in Badrinath road, Vashitha Cave is popular among visitors who come for deep meditation to Rishikesh. Vashistha Gufa has a Shivlinga in it and near the cave, there is a Swami Purshottamanand Ashram which manages it.
The Ganga with its many ghats, spiritual stupas, and riverside ashrams is one of the most unique places to experience white water rafting. Please book your flight to arrive at Dehradun Airport (DED). Transfer from the airport is included. Vinyasa Yoga Academy will pick you up from the airport.
However, the closest and most convenient airport for you is to fly to New Delhi. If you are visiting India for the first time then it is better for you to take a flight to Dehradun (nearby city) and from there, Dehradun is a 30-minute drive by car, so you save a hustle.
Delhi Airport to Rishikesh by car is a six-hour journey. They have a transportation package for 150 USD which will cover your airport pick-up, transfer from Delhi to Rishikesh (by car), and after completion of the course transfer back from Rishikesh to Delhi. One way transportation from the Delhi Airport to Rishikesh can also be availed for 85 USD. In the case that your flight arrives late night and you want to stay overnight in Delhi, airport pick-up cost will be 25 USD and a reasonably good accommodation at a hotel in Delhi can be arranged for 40 or 50 USD.
Cheap hotels can also be found in Delhi (Main Bazar or Paharganj area) for 10 to 20 USD. From the Delhi Airport, Paharganj can be reached by airport metro express in less than 20 minutes and it costs less than 2 USD.
The travel arrangements are executed under the supervision of professionals and they are always ready with a back-up plan, in case of emergencies.
Another good option is to travel by train (airport to New Delhi train station by car, then by train to Haridwar and from Haridwar to Rishikesh by car).
