    Yoga teacher training

CONS Cons: As the course was new, it could have been organised a bit better in terms of timing but all in all it was wonderful.

PROS Pros: The location, the staff, the food and the course were all absolutely wonderful. I had an incredible time at Vida Asana and left feeling happy, healthy and full of yoga knowledge.

    200hr YTT awakenings

PROS Pros: I loved the philosophy aspect of the course and also the challenge that came with the physical practice which really went back to foundations as well as more advanced asanas. The variety of topics covered and level of detail was at a decent level to understand concepts but not to get post in the detail. The style of asana practice with physicAL adjustments between students was super helpful. The food a Vida Asana was delightful thanks to the amazing staff and the owner and his family go out of theor way to make you feel at home. Would 100% visit again. Powerful energy, real transformation

Organizer response: Thank you, this is wonderful to read. Absolutely lovely, we appreciate the support and kind words. We also look forward to seeing you again in this beautiful place we all call earth. Namaste and Pura Vida, Sean and the Vida Asana family

    A difficult place to leave!

CONS Cons: The only downside of our 6 day retreat was that it was too short :) Please, do yourself a favor and stay a bit or a lot longer! I'm already beginning to plan my next trip to this beautiful country and Vida Asana. Pura Vida y muchas muchas gracias!

PROS Pros: I'm not sure where to begin. It's the beginning of June (officially rainy season) and I just spent 6 days at Vida Asana for the yoga/surf retreat with my sister. A brief word on the climate during this time - I truly enjoyed the rainy season weather with mostly sunshine in the morning and refreshing showers in the late afternoon. This was my first trip to Costa Rica and it certainly will not be my last. Sean, Jess, and Juju have created a magical place of Vida Asana and brought together an incredible staff to go along with it. We were treated with such warmth and kindness by every single person at Vida Asana, especially Adrianna and Alexis. Thank you so much for all that you did for me - giving me fresh aloe from the garden for a sunburn and making me a special tea when I had an upset stomach, to name a few. I am already missing the bike rides to Playa Hermosa, the breath-taking beach next to Vida Asana, and the daily yoga sessions. For reference, I'm athletic but had little formal yoga prior to this trip. The yoga, the instructors, and other yoga-goers brought me so much peace and joy that I must make this a practice in my daily life. I strongly recommend going on the Rain Maker excursion with the tour guide Luiz. This is a guided tour through suspension brides and waterfalls in the rainforest that left my sister and I humbled by the natural beauty of Costa Rica. I cannot end this review without mentioning the expertly-crafted, healthy, and delicious food; the coffee and the distilled water, kombucha, ginger beer, nitro cold-brew coffee and beer on tap; and the amazing soap/shampoo in the rooms!

"To be honest, I don't think I will have wonderful words to describe this magical place. It's not only the beauty and comfort of the place, it's mostly the ambiance and atmosphere and great energy of the place, which Shaun and Jessica together with lovely create there. If you want to get away from everything and get an amazing experience together with yoga and different activities they can organize for you, then this is the place to be!"

"I wish I could give a 6 / 5. My wife and I stayed at Vida Asana in mid-November 2016 to celebrate our Pearl wedding anniversary. We could not have asked for anything netter, Sean, Andrea, and Heather were just superb. They made sure that we had the best. They arranged for an amazing bouquet on our anniversary. The food was phenomenal, especially if you are you a vegan or vegetarian. They did offer white meat on special days. The rooms were OK. The arranged for special yoga sessions for us. While we were there, two groups from the US was also there, one was a yoga / surfing group, and the other was a group of 3 couples with very young babies. Sean, Jess, and Heather took personal care. They made sure that the entire group was well fed and taken care of. Andrea deserves and the rest of the team deserve special mention. They were just outstanding, from making sure that we had coffee and special food catered for. I am already feeling nostalgic about the people and Vida Asana even though it has been less than a week."

"If you are looking for very personalized service and not for a 5-star resort, Vida Asana is the place, perfectly located from San Jose Airport (SJO) and Jaco. They even arranged for a special dinner for us. We could not have asked for anything better for our anniversary. Happy family (including Juju) brings out the best in hospitality!"

"I stayed at Vida Asana for four nights in July 2016. The owners were beyond helpful and accommodating beginning with my very first inquiry about a yoga retreat during unusual dates (I did not have a full week to do a retreat because of other plans). I cannot tell you how many emails I sent to Sean regarding scheduling, transportation from the west side of the island, and special dietary requests. He was always prompt and exceedingly helpful in his replies. When I arrived at Vida Asana, I received a warm greeting and felt immediately at home and comfortable. My room was very cute, extremely clean and comfortable. They even have a mini fridge in the rooms, although I never used it as I was more than well fed during my stay at Vida Asana. The food was beyond my expectations. I am vegetarian and was very happy to find that the food was interesting, delicious and creative. Heather, who I would call the Executive Chef, was extremely kind, caring and always willing to share cooking tips with me. Everything was very fresh, with many ingredients sourced from gardens on the property. I truly felt like I was at home at Vida Asana, and would return if I find myself in Costa Rica. Thank you to Sean, Jess, Juju and Heather for welcoming me into your family!"

"Thank you first, Pamela Leal, for sharing your retreat, my first ever yoga retreat, and wondering as it became closer why I ever said yes! I am so thankful I did as it was a truly magical experience forged together between the amazing group of women I met (for your information, I was a solo participant) and everyone at Vida Asana, especially Kenneth who shared his future culinary dreams, Heather who I pray is soon joining her daughter for the birth of a grandchild! Thank you all at Vida Asana for an absolutely memorable journey to Costa Rica. Mario, I loved your welcome at the airport with coconut water and always being available to us. Now I wish to thank our drivers so please Sean thank them on my behalf as I'm embarrassed to not remember their important names, and they were simply amazing!"

"From the moment we were picked up from the airport, the team from Vida Asana had everything organized for the yoga retreat. Lunch (organic, fresh, delicious!!)was waiting for us so we could go on our first adventure, zip lining. Sean and Jessica (owners and incredible hosts) have gathered a team of intelligent, laid back, yet hard working people to run the retreat center smoothly. Heather, head of the kitchen staff, created healthy, beautiful and tasty meals (3 times a day). Our air-conditioned rooms were clean (and kept clean the entire stay, thank you, domestic goddesses) with comfortable beds. The open air yoga shala had ample blocks, straps, and mats so no need to lug your own mat with you (unless you really wanted to). Each excursion was explained in detail by Sean during dinner the first night, giving us the opportunity to sign up or just take advantage of the relaxed, tranquil grounds to stay on. I will definitely return and highly recommend!"

"I traveled to Costa Rica for a yoga retreat with a small group. I spent a full week at Vida Asana and enjoyed every minute. Sean and Jess (owners) are warm, genuine, and full of hospitality. Their staff is amazing and make you feel like you are family. I've traveled to many places and have stayed at many small eco-resorts, but Vida Asana has raised the bar. They truly want their guests to feel at home and take considerable efforts to get to know everyone. I would highly recommend you check them out when planning a yoga retreat. You will not be disappointed."

" I just returned from an amazing week at Vida Asana. I keep looking at pictures and wishing I were still there! If you are looking for a warm, relaxing, and lovely place in a gorgeous setting, check out Vida Asana! The owners, Jess and Sean, welcomed us like family (only we didn't have to do the dishes). The rooms are very comfortable and I loved my walk out balcony. The food was yummy in my tummy, prepared with love and served family style. The yoga shala was absolutely magical, especially at night, with candles glowing and noises from nature. I would absolutely recommend Vida Asana and hope to return in the future."
