During this trip, you will stay at Vedic Arogya Ashram and at other lodges and guesthouses on a twin sharing base during the trek. Vedic Arogya Ashram is located in a beautiful and peaceful place next to Godavari National Botanical Gardens. It is situated 30 minutes away by bus in a quiet village outside Kathmandu. The forested surroundings and views of the colorful hills offer an ideal atmosphere for the practice of yoga and meditation.

Nature walk to the temples, monasteries, and gardens are the part of daily ashram program. Basic accommodation is available for those who wish to experience life at the ashram or undergo treatment. The accommodation includes separate male and female shared dorm rooms, private rooms for couple, single rooms, shared showers and toilet blocks, and solar hot water bathing.

Program

  • Day 1: Adaptation time in the ashram
  • Day 2: Adaptation time in the ashram

  • Day 4: Drive to Pokhara by tourist deluxe bus (6:30 hours) and stay overnight
  • Day 5: Drive to Nayapool (1:30 hour) and trek up to Ulleri (5:30 hours, 2020 meters)
  • Day 6: Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani (5 hours, 2860 meters)
  • Day 7: Trek from Ghorepani to Tadapani via Poon Hill (6 hours, 2600 meters)
  • Day 8: Trek from Tadapani to Landruk (5:45 hours)
  • Day 9: Trek from Landruk to Austrailian camp-Kande (5 hours). Drive back to Pokhara, stay overnight
  • Day 10: Drive back to Kathmandu

This yoga trek offers the incredible opportunity to practice one of the most healing art of Asia: yoga. This wonderful holiday includes a daily class of yoga, pranayama (breathing exercise), and meditation.

The experienced teacher will guide you through Hatha yoga style to help you recover the most from the walking and let your energy flow in your body for a spiritual connection as well. A daily yoga practice can prevent and heal many diseases, body and mind related. To be able to practice in a pure environment in the Himalayas is a great opportunity to reconnect yourself and grow spiritually.

Yoga asanas

Asanas are postures made to clean the body from all the toxins and to release any physical blockages that prevent your energy to flow freely in the body. The more blockages you have, the more tension you create.

Pranayama

This concerns breathing techniques. The purpose of pranayama is to unblock emotional nodes. When you accumulate stress, anxiety, and others mental pain, you create emotional blockages inside the body, which means that your energy cannot flow freely, and it increases the suffering. Pranayama helps to remove those blockages.

Meditation

This is the ultimate practice of yoga. Through meditation, you enable the mind to come back to a state of peace, a state of silence. You create some space in the mind in order to be able to face life with more perspective, and so less anxiety and anger. Meditation brings people back to themselves, to who they really are and this brings a fresh meaning to life, a peaceful one.
