The national park covers an area of 37,487 hectares in the province of Thua Thien Hue and Quang Nam. It was created in 1991 to protect the center of the last corridor of forest stretching from the south of China Sea to the border with Laos.

With steep mountains and dense forests, this area is home to a wide variety of animals and plants. At the base of the mountains there is tropical monsoon forest, which is sub-tropical above 900 meters. There are species from both the Northern and Southern areas of the country and Bach Ma is recognized as one of the biodiversity centers of Indochina. Now, Bach Ma National Park does not only offer beautiful landscapes, but it also allows scientific research.

    Canh Duong Beach

Canh Duong Beach, Hue is located in the Thua Thien Hue region of Vietnam about 60 kilometers from Hue City. The beach covers an expansive area of 8 kilometers in length and 200 meters in width. The most beautiful and striking feature of the beach is its shape. The arc shape of the beach makes it a stand out among the numerous tourist attractions of Vietnam.

Canh Duong Beach is considered to have the most stunning backdrop of the mountains, namely Western Chan May and Eastern Chan May. The beach is sandwiched between these two mountains which incidentally gives the arc shape to the beach. The beach has certainly graduated as a major tourist attraction of Vietnam. Besides the characteristic arc shaped feature, the gradual slope with the white powdery sands coupled with the turquoise blue water are the attractive traits of the beach. The environment always remains charming with the windless surrounding the beach, making it ideal for all sorts of activities associated with sea water.

    Hoi An Old Town

Located on the banks of the poetic Thu Bon River, in central Quang Nam Province, 30 kilometers south of Da Nang, Hoi An Ancient Town is an Eastern Oriental classic captivation. With the strategic location on the banks of the great river, with one seaside border, it used to be one of the major trading centers in Southeast Asia during the 16th century due to the early Western trader occupying period. Coming here, tourists can see a series of old architecture lanes and houses with nearly 100% left from their initial buildings with moss grown walls, deeply plain roofs, and old furniture in their past arrangement.

Today, Hoi An is also known as a shopping paradise that attracts tourists towards its wonderful souvenirs, handicrafts, antique pieces, silk materials, art paintings, and many more.

    Hue City Citadel

The citadel complex of Hue, set up by Nguyen Dynasty from 1805 to 1945, is now one amongst the relics of the Hue ancient capital, the world cultural heritage, capturing much of tourists’ attention. The citadel palace complex is located on the north bank of Huong River (Perfume River), inside Hue City.

It is a huge complex covering an area of 520 hectares and comprising three circles of ramparts, Kinh Thanh Hue (Hue capital citadel), Hoang Thanh (royal citadel), and Tu Cam Thanh (forbidden citadel). It started to be constructed in 1805 under the reign of Emperor Gia Long and was completed in 1832 under the sovereignty of Emperor Ming Mang. Over the past 200 years, it has still maintained original with nearly 140 small and large constructions.

    Lang Co Beach

Lang Co is renowned for its natural breathtaking landscape. It lies on the most beautiful curve of the country where you will be the first to see the sunrise in Vietnam. Here, you can find almost everything that mother nature can offer: green mountains, tropical forest, or soft white sand covered with sunshine and damped by crystal clear blue sea. The town itself is very small and peaceful, which will give you the most relaxing time. Recently, Lang Co Beach has been voted as one of the top 40 beautiful beaches in the world.

    My Son Sanctuary

Athough My Son Sanctuary is not as majestic and spectacular as Angkor (Cambodia), Pagan (Myanma),  Borobudua (Indonesia), it possesses an important role in South East Asia’s civilization of art. In December 1999, Hoi An Ancient Town along with My Son Sanctuary were recognized as the world cultural heritages by UNESCO. Hundreds of thousands of tourists and researchers visit My Son Sanctuary every year.

    Tam Giang Lagoon

Tam Giang Lagoon has a depth of 2 to 4 meters, in some places 7 meters, the immense water surface is an area of important economic activity, bringing high income with its sea products. Thua Thien Hue Province plain along the sea coast has many lagoons, such as those of Tam Giang, Thuy Tu, and Lap An. In them, the water of almost all the rivers of the province of Thus Then Hue converged together before going to the sea through the mouths of Thuan An, Tu Hien, or through the great lagoon of Lang Co.

Tam Giang and Cau Hai are the 2 biggest lagoons with fresh water, the 2 most representative lagoons in Vietnam with a length of 70 kilometers for the whole of the two. They form an ideal habitat for many sea species all along the province. Thousands tons of sea products are brought on here (fish, shrimps, and others) yearly.

    Thanh Toan Tile Roofed-Bridge

Thanh Toan Tile Roofed-Bridge crosses a canal flowing from the beginning to the end of Thanh Toan Village, Thuy Thanh Commune, Huong Thuy District, and Thua Thien Hue Province. Thanh Toan Tile Roofed-Bridge is an arched wooden bridge, 17 meters long and 4 meters wide. On both sides of the bridge, the lengths are 2 rows of wooden flat forms and parapets for people to lean their backs, the bridge is also roofed with tube. Thanh Thuy Village was established in the 16th century. The village is about 6 kilometers from Hue City Center on the eastward.

It took the longest time to build among tombs of Nguyen emperor in Hue. It started building on September 4, 1920 and took 11 years to complete. In order to have enough money to build the tomb, Khai Dinh raised the tax to 30 percent. This action was extremely opposed by the people and he became the most hated among emperor in the Nguyen Dynasty.

The architect of Tomb of Khai Dinh is a strange, new, and unique architecture. It also has the combination of the traditional architecture of Nguyen Dynasty, the modern Western architecture, and showing characters of Khai Dinh emperor. The interior of Thien Dinh place of Tomb of Khai Dinh was wonderfully designed and decorated by colorful glass and pottery.

Comparing Tomb of Khai Dinh to the tombs of other Nguyen emperors, Khai Dinh is the smallest in size. But it took the longest time and money. Khai Dinh ordered people to buy steel, cement, pottery, glass, and porcelain from France, China and Japan to build Tomb of Khai Dinh.

In his lifetime, the emperor neither thought of his death nor wanted the people and soldiers to waste so much labour and property for him, so he did not have his tomb built. The complex incorporates some 50 edifices, including the Hoa Khiem Temple which Tu Duc used as a palace and the colorful Minh Khiem Duong Royal Theatre where performances were staged.

Truc Lam Bach Ma Zen Monastery

    • Review by a traveler from Perth, Australia

"We have been to this resort twice in the past few years (2014/15) and we are hopefully returning again soon. I have been reluctant to review it as I wanted to keep it a secret I love it so much but I do feel that the staff also deserve their due praise. It is an absolutely peaceful and tranquil resort staffed by the most delightful, friendly and helpful staff. The resort is led by a fabulous manager, Khoa, who goes out of his way (above and beyond) to make sure that guests are always happy and satisfied with their stay. He leads by example and you can tell that the staff truly enjoy working there. We have stayed in the Aqua Bungalows both times and just love watching the local fishing boats go by in the mornings and evenings. It is remote and that is the point. You go there to be there. If you need somewhere to stay in Hue so you can see the sights then stay elsewhere but make sure you book in here for a few nights to relax and unwind at the end of your trip. You won't regret it. Our favorite place in Vietnam!"

    • Review by a traveler from Toronto

"The property sits on a lagoon, which contrary to previous reviews, is quite clean and surrounded by majestic mountains; there are many, many post card picture opportunities. The room is large, well laid out and the bed very comfortable. Your private dipping pool is a blessing after a long hot day and breakfast by far the best I have had in 40 plus years of travelling."

"If you love "getting away from it all" then this is the place for you! Very secluded, peaceful and amazing views across the lagoon. You are a "captured audience" as no other cafes, restaurants around, but the menu is quite extensive and breakfast has an amazing selection. My daughter and I shared the "Honeymoon Suite" for the first two nights - which had its own pool and pick up by resort buggy - as a long staircase down to the bottom of the road to go to breakfast or riding your included bicycles. We then moved into our own bungalow each over the lagoon - number 3 and 4 and it was just amazing. The only one with its own pool. Treat yourself and book one or both of these! The staff were all amazing and the spa treatments excellent. I didn't want to leave."
