Vajra Sol Yoga Adventures Yoga Retreat Program in Peru

The Vajra Sol retreat begins in Cusco and ends in Cusco after breakfast. Please plan on the day prior to the retreat start date and the day after as travel days between your home and Peru when coordinating your trip.

The trip begins in the culturally rich city of Cusco where we meet before heading to the Sacred Valley. Youll spend five days exploring the sites and vibrant Quechua markets in this beautiful valley surrounded by the awe-inspiring Andes mountains. Your mind, body, and spirit will be opened through daily yoga sessions and you will connect to the powerful healing energy of mother nature at an idyllic retreat lodge.

You will then cross the valley to Ollantaytambo where you take a scenic train ride along the Urubamba River to arrive at Aguas Calientes, your base from where you tour Machu Picchu. Your travel ends back in Cusco walking through the cobblestone streets, taking in the fusion of the ancient and modern cultures of Peru.

The Yoga

A 1.5 - 2 hour yoga session will be held daily during your time at the lodge in the Sacred Valley. The style of yoga practiced is Vinyasa flow in combination with Restorative yoga. There is a powerful energy that is felt in this area of the Sacred Valley which is an ideal and conducive setting to reflect openly and to explore on a deeper level one's yoga practice. The fresh Andes mountain air energizes the mind and body and the inspiring views give a feel of a freedom from time. Here you will experience a transformative connection to nature and self.

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

To Lima

Peru is currently a very popular travel destination and you are advised to book early for international and domestic flights. Book your flight to Lima, the capital of Peru. The airport code is LIM.

Depending on the arrival time of your international flight into Lima, (many are night flights from the U.S. / Canada arriving in Lima late evening or early morning), you may have to spend the night in Lima (contact Vajra Sol Yoga Adventures for hotel options). The next morning you will take a domestic flight from Lima to Cusco. If your flight arrives in Lima in the morning hours you then can catch a domestic flight to Cusco. Allow at least 2-3 hours in between your international and domestic flights in case of delays.

Lima to Cusco

Flight time from Lima to Cusco is one hour. It is recommended to book these domestic flights in the morning as weather is typically better and there is less chance of flight delay or cancelation.

LAN Airlines, TACA Airlines and Copa Air have international flights from the US / Canada to Lima with connections to Cusco. Multiple US carriers fly into Lima.
