ULU Aerial yoga is a mix of yoga, physical therapy, acrobatics and pilates. Our training focuses on developing teaching skills and giving students a wide variety of styles and unique workshops plus fun collaborative creative activities. Highlights include workshops in aerial acro fusion, aerial restorative, aerial choreography, aerial blacklight show, aerial beach yoga
ULU follows Yoga Alliance standards to balance guided practice, analytics, methodology, teaching practice plus anatomy, philosophy and self-study.
No previous yoga experience is required. Our students range from total beginners and seniors searching for pain relief and healing to advanced aerial yogis searching for something new and exciting. Ages 18-65.
Aerial is easier than normal yoga because it supports one’s body weight and allows beginners to attain correct alignment and do advanced poses. Only one class, aerial acrobatics, has advanced poses and sequences, but even that most beginners can do. ULU encourages students to take it easy and rest, but also to challenge themselves to build strength and grace.
ULU emphasizes correct alignment and absolute safety with clearly scripted step by step instruction. All rigging and equipment are of the highest standards. All students are encouraged to respect their body and ability and feel the joy of not pushing themselves into any pose.
ULU Yoga has regular silk hammocks and their own unique custom design swings made with padded cushions for greater comfort, support, and precision than most hammocks, silks and belts, although we do many of the same poses like anti-gravity.
Aerial is a fun and gentle way to get strong, relieve pain and heal the body. Swings support the body’s weight, enhance our range of motion and allow us to stretch deeper and work a greater range of back and core muscles. Aerial yoga offers great therapeutic benefits. We use gravity to decompress the spine, realign the vertebrae, relieve disc and nerve pressure, which causes pain. Most importantly, it’s fun and makes people smile. Honestly, so many students say it is the best time of their life.
Students receive a 50-hour Aerial Yoga Teacher Training Certificate from ULU Yoga, who is a 200-hour Registered School with Yoga Alliance. Many students get jobs teaching with just this, every country and studio has their own requirements. Yoga Alliance members receive a Certificate of Continuing Education.
Edward Pawlak, USA, started yoga in 2007 and completed 200-hour TTC in Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow with Samyak Yoga in India. Edward studied various yoga styles all over the world until falling in love with Aerial. Edward trained and collaborated with several leading aerial experts in silks, hammocks, and belts. In 2014, he founded ULU Yoga and now leads 50-hour Aerial and 200-hour Mix Yoga TTC every month around the world. Before yoga, Edward taught university education and worked in music theater production, which gives the TTC both scholastic foundation and creative expression.
ULU has several wonderful instructors leading the courses along with Edward. All instructors have completed 200-hour Yoga TTC, 50-hour Aerial TTC, plus 50-hour advanced Aerial TTC, and have over 1,000 hours of teaching experience.
