Yoga practice

Each morning begins with a two-hour guided class of Hatha or Vinyasa yoga.

  • Each class includes pranayama and meditation, options for beginner and intermediate levels, hands-on adjustments, and a follow-up feedback session.
  • On this Intermediate training you will explore more advanced poses and include specialized themes like chakra awakening, trauma release, advanced transitions, creative sequencing, and much more.

Asana lab

Each day you will re-examine the roots of asana form and function on a much deeper level.

  • Integrate their energetic and bio-mechanic components to improve alignment and technique
  • Explore advanced asanas and study the prerequisite steps to achieve them safely over time
  • Gain deeper breath awareness, bandha engagement, and mastery of foundational equivalents.
  • Learn more precise alignment, variations for different levels, and modifications with props.
  • Discover new ways to transition and connect poses to build creative vinyasa flow sequences.

Workshops for Aerial, Acro, Ashtanga and Yin yoga

Each day you will receive a special workshop to deepen your practice and provide you with a dynamic skillset.

  • Aerial yoga is one of ULU Yoga's greatest specialties! You will love training with their cushioned swings. Learn to cure back pain with traction and inversions.
  • Acro yoga is a fun challenge, helping you elevate your sense of balance and engagement, becoming more self-aware by connecting with others.
  • Yin yoga, yoga Nidra, and Restorative yoga help you to relieve stress, break up scar tissue, and promote healing through fascia release, as well as letting go of stored trauma.
  • Ashtanga yoga serves as a bridge between Hatha, and Vinyasa yoga by providing a structured set sequence to build strength, flexibility, and discipline to grow and develop.
  • Additional workshops may include kirtan, advanced transitions, creative sequencing, traditional Tantra Hatha yoga, Kundalini yoga, yogic massage, somatic movement, and more.

Meditation

Discover your true self as you go deeper into the energetic and physiological benefits of various meditation techniques, including Vipassana (insight meditation), Mantra meditation (spiritual recitation), Trataka (candle gazing), walking meditation, gratitude meditation, yoga nidra, and trauma release.

Pranayama

Within you is an eternal life source. Review and go deeper into the energetic and physiological benefits of various pranayama techniques, including Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing), Kapalabhati (skull shining breath), Bhramari (humming bee), Ujjayi (victory breath), Bhastrika (fire breath), Dirga (three part breath), Shitali (cooling breath, Viloma (against the wave).

Teaching skills

Beach yoga, SUP, dance

ULU Yoga also provides fun activities to celebrate life.

  • Beach yoga is a transformational experience that allows you to connect with the divine through nature. One day you will practice at beautiful Bingin Beach, which has gorgeous limestone cliffs, turquoise waters and world-class surfing. Free transportation is included.
  • SUP yoga (stand-up paddle board) is a challenging adventure. Floating above the sparkling waters activates your stabilizer muscles to give you a new sense of balance. Receive quality instruction from experienced SUP Yoga instructors. Additional fee of 40 USD including transportation.
  • Ecstatic dance and Contact Improv give you the opportunity to freely express yourself and connect with others. Ecstatic dance (free at ULU Yoga) is complete freestyle while Contact Improv (10 USD at the Istana) gives you the option to partner up and explore dynamic balance.

Self studies

During the onsite training you should do one to two hours of daily self-study outside of class:

  • Reading the training manual
  • Reviewing your notes
  • Designing your original class
  • Journal assignments

Online studies

This course has 200 hours of required online study.

  • You will receive lifetime access to the complete online YTT, which has hundreds of videos covering all topics.
  • You should try to complete your online work before the onsite training, but you can continue after and take up to one year to finish.
  • You can follow the online YTT in order or skip around and choose what best serves your needs and interests.
  • It is recommended to focus on Anatomy and Philosophy, which require additional reading.
  • If you miss some onsite classes you can do additional online work as make-up.

Certificate

At the end of the onsite training you will receive a certificate stating the total number of hours you have completed onsite and online up to that point.

  • When you have completed all requirements you will receive a certificate of full completion and become qualified to teach vinyasa yoga all over the world.
  • You will also become eligible to join Yoga Alliance as a RYT Registered Yoga Teacher.

In-person training

Bingin Beach, Uluwatu is one of the most beautiful parts of Bali with stunning limestone cliffs, turquoise waters, and world-famous surfing. Bingin has an abundance of hip boutique cafes and shops, beach bars with live music and dancing, plus numerous wellness centers for massage, sauna, and detox.

This training takes place at Le Bamboo, a beautiful ocean-view boutique resort, just a few minutes from the famous Bingin Beach in Uluwatu, Bali. Le Bamboo has a gorgeous infinity pool and yoga shala surrounded by lush green nature. You can easily walk to many great cafes, shops, and accommodations.

Online training

The online part of the training is self-paced and you can complete the training in 30 days or up to one year. It is recommended you complete them before the onsite portion, but you can also do them after. You can join live classes on Zoom, Monday to Friday. Times vary, but on average are 2:00 p.m. GMT+3. Here you can meet instructors and other students to get connected and ask any questions you may have. Attendance is not required.

The package includes delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner with vegan and vegetarian options. Drinks include fresh tropical juice or coffee and water. Arrival by airplane
