Looking to spend a week relaxing in the south of Italy, doing yoga, eating amazing food, and enjoying the bella vita (the beautiful life) that the Mediterranean is so known for? The pace of life is slower in Italy, so it’s the perfect place to slow down and savor this incredible yoga retreat. Join Nicki Doane in Puglia Italia for a week of relaxing, inspiring, and fun yoga classes! The schedule of the retreat will be relaxed with classes in the morning and late afternoon.
You will be accommodated in a retreat center. This retreat center is located in Puglia, in the southern Italy. The NY Post calls this region magical and lonely planet put it in its 2014 must-see places list. This is a must-see and experience center - the architecture and decor are exquisite. There are ten rooms with occupancy varying from singles to triples and all are consciously decorated. The grounds contain lovely gardens, a swimming pool, a wild forest and fields, and a tiny church. There is plenty of space to walk and be free.
The rest of the day can be spent as you like eating, napping, exploring, bike-riding, relaxing by the pool, hiking, or just lying around and reading a great book. Maybe you want to take a technology break and use this time to connect with real people doing real things. There is something special about living together as a group for a week, practicing yoga, sharing food, talking, and drinking wine together.
This yoga retreat is a way to reconnect not only with yourself but with your practice again. Sometimes, life gets so busy that you don’t make time for the important things in life. Use this retreat to get back into your practice and be inspired to continue once you get back home. It is so important to take care of yourselves and make the time and space to just be and not always do.
A retreat is a perfect opportunity to slow down and remember what is important in life; things like connecting with other people, yourselves, and a higher spirit. All levels are welcome and the only prerequisite is being able to open your mind to something new and being willing to try things a little differently. Nicki will teach Maya yoga style asana based classes in the morning (just like she does on Maui) incorporating pranayama and chanting as well. The afternoons will be more reflective in nature including hip openers, restorative yoga, and deep relaxation.
The retreat will be held at an intimate yoga center located in Martina Franca. This area is full of historic and cultural sites. Beautiful beaches are easily accessible. Martina Franca, the closest town, has a particularly beautiful old town surrounded by stone walls with prominent Baroque gates leading to piazzas and narrow, winding streets. The location is imbued with deeply spiritual, friendly, and calm energy that will be felt throughout your visit.
This package includes three whole foods meals each day. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are prepared daily and include healthy vegetarian options along with fish. The food is local and organic when available and prepared with nourishing ingredients. This center has a focus on their food philosophy, which features a cleansing element.
Known as the white town, Ostuni Village is located near the sea. Ostuni shines like a pearly white tiara, extending across three hills with the magnificent gem of a cathedral as its sparkling centerpiece. It’s the end of the Trulli region and the beginning of the hot, dry Salento. The city boasts its nearby pristine beaches, historical architecture, and its surroundings, as well as a vibrant olive and grape agribusiness. You will have the chance to roam through this enchanting village and also have time to visit a nearby beach. This is a full day excursion and is 38 EUR.
Just a short trip from the center, you will be delighted to visit this quaint and historic village on their market day. The old quarter of this town is a picturesque scene of winding alleys, blinding white houses, and blood-red geraniums. There are graceful baroque and rococo buildings here too, plus airy piazzas and curlicue iron-work balconies that almost touch above the narrow streets.
This town is the highest in the Murgia, and was founded in the tenth century by refugees fleeing the Arab invasion of Taranto. You will have the chance to walk the cobblestone streets and see old churches, amazing architecture, and shop at the open-air market. This trip is 3 - 4 hours and the cost is 12 EUR.
Please book your flight to arrive at Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport (BRI). Transfer from and to the airport is included. True Nature Education will pick you up from the airport.

There are two nearby airports: Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport (BRI) one hour and 30 minutes and Brindisi Airport (BDS) 45 / 50 minutes from the center. The group shuttle for this retreat will be provided from the Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport (BRI) on the arrival day.
