Two accommodations will be provided for this retreat, with one night in a hotel near the airport and five nights in Santa Teresa. Single accommodations in Santa Teresa include a private bathroom unless otherwise indicated. Shared accommodations are either double or triple occupancy.
Rooms will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Limited singles available for an extra fee. Situated on four acres of unspoiled tropical beach, you will find beautiful swimming areas and also outcroppings of rock where natural tide pools form.
There will be yoga sessions held daily led by David Moore, author of "Yoga and the Alexander Technique: Intelligent, Injury-Free Yoga." This unique residential course will provide for immersion into the application of the Alexander Technique to yoga practice. Transform your practice while immersing yourself in the most pristine natural environment and experiencing the wildlife of Costa Rica right outside your window. There will be plenty of free time for relaxation and exploration.
You will be staying at a hotel near the airport for the first night with the other group participants. Dinner will be provided the first evening, followed by a short group meeting. The following day after breakfast, you will be taking a three-to-five-hour shuttle ride to the center.
David Moore, director at the School for F.M. Alexander Studies, graduated from Australia’s first Alexander Technique training course in Sydney in 1985. After graduating, he spent some weeks each year for a number of years studying with senior American teacher, the late Marjorie Barstow. Since then, he has established private practices in New Zealand and Melbourne, run many workshops and residential courses in Australia and New Zealand, and taught classes in the UK, Germany, Japan, and the US.
This retreat will be held in Santa Teresa, a breathtaking white sand beach on the Pacific Ocean of Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are prepared daily and include healthy vegetarian options along with fish and chicken. The food is organic when available and prepared with nourishing ingredients.
While on your retreat, you will also have the opportunity to take part in adventure activities and excursions.
Please book your flight to arrive at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO). Transfer from and to the airport is included. True Nature Education will pick you up from the airport. There will be one group airport shuttle each way based on the flight window guidelines. Be sure your flights align with the provided flight windows if you wish to use the group shuttle.
