You'll stay in one of Tribal Tulum fabulous, private loft-style apartments. each with a private bath, king-sized bed, fridge, kitchenette with coffee maker, and blender. All have air conditioning, ceiling fans, and Wi-Fi. Lofts 1, 2, and 4 have private balconies with hammocks, gas stove in the kitchenette and fold-out couch. The lofts are just below or next to the yoga studio, Tribal, and above their partner dive shop, Acuatic. Tribal Tulum is on the bike path that joins Tulum Pueblo to the Tulum Beach. Spacious and luminous, they are just in the right spot to connect the beach and town so you can explore all the area has to offer in terms of cultural, pueblo and jungle.
This à la carte retreat allows you to shape your day respecting yourself and your energy. Practice in a world-class studio planning your days around yoga with a schedule that includes classes daily, full and new moon meditations, and special intensives and workshops. The teachers are the best in the area and offer a variety of styles, including Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Yin, and Iyengar, as well as special classes like wall ropes classes and myofascial roll and release.

Participants can also learn to scuba dive or free-dive at the downstairs dive center, Acuatic Tulum. The personalized dive and snorkel tours work around your yoga needs. Joanne has been sharing her humor, sense of vitality, creativity and yoga practice with people in Tulum since 2006. She combines her years of yoga instruction with a lifetime of body knowledge developed as a competitive athlete. Her life philosophy of cherishing each moment and oneself is evident in each of her practices, reminding others that each breath and each moment is a gift. Joanne is accredited to teach yoga by the AAAI / ISMA (American Aerobic Association International / International Sports Medicine Association). Additionally a 100 Hour Yin Teacher Training, 2017 through YUMJI.
Daria found yoga more than 12 years ago and it has helped to heal her body, mind, and heart along the way of past injury. She has studied with Shiva Rea, Mathew Cohen, and Jorgen Christiansson in California and received her 300-hour Yoga Alliance certification from Daniel Aaron of radiantly Alive Yoga in Ubud, Bali. She teaches Restorative, Yin, and Children's yoga at Tribal.
Eugenia received her certification in Hatha yoga in 2006 and since 2009, her study and teaching are dedicated to the Iyengar method. She came to Tulum in 2014. In early 2015, she completed her grade II certification in the Iyengar tradition of yoga. She constantly updates her knowledge and teaching skills about the Iyengar method through workshops and seminars. Eugenia teaches Iyengar yoga five times a week at Tribal and one Saturday a month, she teaches a restorative Iyengar class. Tribal Yoga has wall-fitted ropes that are used in Eugenia’s classes to perfect the alignment in the asanas.
Ricardo is from Northern Mexico, a small town called Tampico. He developed his love for bodily movement and the interaction between body and mind through martial arts, loving both the traditional aspect and the competition. He began yoga to improve his alignment in competitions and immediately fell in love with its focus on balancing body and mind. He is new to teaching yoga but an old soul with years in martial arts and the mind-body connection. He received his training in 2015 in Vinyasa flow at Yoga Dicha in Tulum, where he now lives.
Mariana moved to Tulum just three years ago from Guadalajara, Mexico. She studied yoga in Playa del Carmen and received her certification in Vinyasa flow from Alan Montaño. Developing a dedicated and constant practice showed her the internal and external changes yoga brought about in herself. Subsequently, she decided to share the yoga practice as a teacher. Mariana shows her students how yoga can help them live less accelerated lives and be in the moment, thus healing physical and emotional wounds.
Your retreat will take place at Tribal Tulum's loft apartments on the bike path that joins Tulum Beach and Tulum Pueblo. They host a world-class yoga studio with amazing daily classes led by fantastic teachers. Classes are in a variety of yoga styles so that you can experiment with what works best for your body and learn more about yourself.
Tribal Tulum is a short distance from some of the area's amazing cenotes, underwater caves, and Mayan ruins that attract people to Tulum, Mexico: a magical spot in the state of Quintana Roo, south of Playa del Carmen and Cancun on the Yucatan peninsula.
Organize a scuba, freediver, or snorkel with our partner dive shop, Aquatic Tulum, and literally immerse yourself in these amazing areas. Their friendly staff can help you to organize tours that lead you to other jungle adventures, Mayan heritage sites, and amazing nature preserves and areas.
Tribal Tulum's lofts have kitchenettes so you can prepare meals. There is a fridge, coffee/tea maker and blender and we provide coffee, tea, purified water and a welcome continental breakfast and fruit in your fridge. Steps away, there is a range of food options including vegan and vegetarian. There's a supermarket within a 5 to 10 minute walk. There are also great restaurants and neighbourhoods to explore in the Tulum Pueblo or along the Beach Road.
Cancún International Airport
Transfer available for additional US$225 per person
Fly into Cancun International Airport (CUN). There are three different options to get from the airport to Tulum and the lofts at Tribal: renting a car, private transfer, or public bus.
Tribal Tulum can organize a private transfer from the airport to Tribal. The driver picks you up after you exit customs and will have you there in about 90 minutes. The costs for the private transfer is 225 USD round trip and you pay once you arrive at Tribal Tulum. Cash payment preferred. Credit cards subject to taxes and fees. They can organize this transport for you on request with your full name and travel details.
There are several shared services you can book online, among them NAST Transfers, Happy Transfer, USA Transfers. They will need the address for Tribal Tulum, Avenida Coba Sur entre Calle 7 y 9 Oriente, Tulum, MX.
ADO is the bus company for Mexico. It is comfortable, air-conditioned and safe and economical. Departure times are on their website. The bus will take about 2.5 to 3 hours depending on connections. From the bus stop in Tulum, you can either walk the 2 kilometers or take a taxi for about 35 pesos to the Lofts at Tribal.
You can also rent a car from the airport and drive. Tribal Tulum has parking right in front of the building. They can send you driving directions from Cancun International Airport (CUN) to Tribal Tulum.
