During this yoga trekking trip, you will stay at three stars hotel accommodation in Kathmandu. Accommodation is based on twin or double sharing in a lodge or hotel.

Local people have built tea houses lodge with food and beverage facilities. A simple room usually has two narrow beds. While staying in the tea houses you will see the charming local people with their good hospitality services. Trekking Planner provides eco-friendly lodges whenever possible.

All the guest houses offer hot showers, which can be in the bathroom or can be a bucket of hot water. Please note that at high altitude there may not be enough hot water for all the trekkers. Limit the use of hot water unless the water is solar heated or firewood for the ecological reason. Every lodge has some kind of washing facilities but you must carry a bar of soap. If the water froze then ask your guide to get a warm bowl of water.

Through Mani walls, unique settlements including Chheplung, Thado Koshigaon, Ghat and Nurning, views of Kusum Kangguru peak and high rolling hills, you reach to Phakding, the popular place for an overnight stay along the mighty Dudh Koshi River. Moving ahead in the trail crossing over several suspension bridges, watching views of snowcapped peaks and traversing through the lush forest, you reach the settlement of Monjo, the gateway to Sagarmatha National Park.

Ahead after the confluence of Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers at Larja Dobhan, you will trek through the steep trail to reach the colorful center of Sherpa life, the Namche Bazaar. Up and down through varieties of vegetation, stone steps, and flat trails, until you reach to Tengboche. Exploring ancient monasteries with intricate paintings and other heritages, religious practices and marvelous scenery, you reach the climax of the yoga trek at Tengboche.

Retracing back through the quaint village of Khumjung, you walk through Monjo and Lukla before flying back to Kathmandu for wrapping up the trek. With each day, you adapt to breathe at high altitudes, as you practice yoga in classes with meditation, literally above the clouds. This spiritual trip to the Himalayas refreshes you physically, mentally and spiritually!

While September to December and January to February is the best season for this trek, June to August and January to February sees the relatively less crowded trail. Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350 meters or 4430 feet)

On arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) in Kathmandu, you will be picked up and be transferred to the hotel by Trekking Planner's office representative. Later in the afternoon, you shall have a yoga session, yogic breathing, and meditation. You shall be greeted with a welcome dinner in the authentic restaurant to start the day with a wonderful memory. Stay overnight will be at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Full day in Kathmandu

Today, you shall have a guided sightseeing in the Kathmandu valley aims to explore some of the important heritages and try to understand the cultural and historical richness of the valley. To begin the day, you shall have a session of yoga and meditation for a relaxation and get ready for the day.

You have the possibility for an exploration of the ancient Kathmandu Durbar Square to start the journey and head for the Swayambhuanth Stupa, the 14th-century stupa which is supposedly one the oldest stupas in Nepal.

This stupa is also known as Monkey Temple due to the holy monkeys living in the northwest part of the temple. Pashupatinath, a sacred Hindu Temple is situated on the bank of the Bagmati River is another destination which has served as the symbol of faith, belief, and dedication of Hindus all over the world. After the tour, you will drive to Buddhanath stupa which is one of the biggest and oldest stupas in the world.

Later in the afternoon, there will be a pre-trip meeting with your trekking guide at the hotel. You shall have the session for getting all the information of the trek and clarify the doubt related to the trip. Trekking Planner's office representative shall assist you in this matter. After the enriching session of the day, you shall have another session of yoga and meditation. Overnight will be in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Fly to Lukla (2828 meters or 9279 feet) 35 minutes flight time and trek to Phakding (2780 meters or 9121 feet - three to four hours of walking)

Today, you will have an early morning transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM). You will fly to Lukla, the flight will take about 35 minutes. It is a short but scenic flight to the Himalayan foothills where you will begin your trek into the Everest region after a quick session of yoga and meditation.

The flight will provide you with a panoramic view of the giant Himalayan and beautiful land terraces which give you a glimpse of what’s in store in this trek. As you land at Tenzing-Hillary Airport (LUA), you will walk three to four hours to reach Phakding with few up and down along the Dudh Koshi River.

In this introductory trek in the beautiful Everest region, you shall trek past some suspension bridges festooned with prayer flags, forests adorned by rhododendron and fir, prayer wheels and mani walls overlooking the giant Himalayas. You shall relax at the teahouse in the destination and later end your day with the first yoga and meditation session in the trekking destination. You will stay overnight at the tea house in Phakding.

Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 meters or 11287 feet - five to six hours of walking)

Your trek in the beautiful region will begin with a quick session of yoga, meditation, and yogic breathing for a relaxed beginning of the day. Today after breakfast, you will continue trekking along the banks of the Dudh Kosi River, crossing this majestic river many times on exciting suspension bridges laden with prayer flags.

The first view is Kongde Ri after Phakding, trek the gradual ascent and turn to the Benkar Valley. You will explore the ancient monastery which will lead you to Monjo, the settlement close to the entry of Sagarmatha National Park. After entering Sagamartha National Park, from Larja Dobhan the trail climbs steeply with breathtaking views to Namche Bazaar, the gateway to the Everest region.

During the ascend, you will have the first glimpse of the mighty Mount Everest. To end the day, you will have another session of yoga, meditation, and yogic breathing. Overnight stay will be at the tea house in Namche.

Day 5: Rest day at Namche Bazar

Today is a rest day and an acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. This is essential before moving up to the higher altitude. You will have yogic breathing, yoga, and meditation session to begin your day. Namche is a colorful village with many wonderful and interesting shops and vendors, fabulous food, and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. They have lots of places to explore.

Trekkers have the option of hiking up the Everest View Hotel which provides the marvelous view of majestic Everest and other peaks including the beautiful Ama Dablam and others. An early hike above town to other satellite villages around Namche, before the clouds move in, reward trekkers with a spectacular Himalayan sunrise and views of the Mount Everest, Lhotse, the beautiful Ama Dablam and much more as well as the lush hills and valleys.

On the way down, you can visit the Sherpa Museum that houses an exhibit on traditional Sherpa lifestyle, the flora and fauna found in the region, the history of mountaineering as well as a fabulous photography display by a local Nepalese naturalist. This shall make the exploration around Namche an enriching experience. After this exploration, you shall have another session of yoga and meditation in this scenic place. Stay overnight at the tea house in Namche.

Day 6: Trek to Tengboche (3850 meters or 12632 feet- four to five hours of walking)

With yoga, yogic breathing, and meditation session, you will start your day further up on the trail. The trek continues along the rushing glacial waters of the Dudh Kosi River with magnificent views of the mountains. With the ups and downs in the trail, you trek out of the buzzing Namche to reach the viewpoint of Ama Dablam, Lhotse Shar, Taboche, Kang Taiga, and other neighboring peaks.

You will further trek of a couple of hours through a rough path along stone steps which will take you to the river bed of torrential Dudh Koshi River. After crossing the river, you shall have an uphill trek to Tengboche and to Tengboche monastery, past the settlement of Phunke Tenga.

The spiritual center of Khumbu region, Tengboche monastery, has rich and full of ornate wall hangings and paintings beside the magnificent 20-foot statue of Lord Buddha. Visitors have the splendid scenery of lush hills and rhododendron forests that contrast the white Himalayas in the background.

After exploring the marvelous Tengboche monastery and the village, you shall end the day with your regular session of yoga, meditation, and yogic breathing. Overnight in Tengboche next to the Tengboche monastery.

Day 7: Trek to Khumjung (3753 meters or 12313 feet - four to five hours of walking)

After a quick session of yoga, yogic breathing, and meditation, you retrace the journey back to the settlement of Shanasha. In Shanasha, the trail from Khumjung, Gokyo, and to Namche will meet - making it a transit for trekkers who choose one of the trekking trails. Your route to the Khumjung valley shall be away from the busy trekking route in the main trekking trail from Namche and on top of that you have a good view and peaceful place en route.

Your way up to Khumjung valley will be very windy this makes the Khumjung contrasts with the busy Namche Bazaar. Khumjung is a small farm village with monastery which is believed to host the skull of Yeti, thereby adding another voice that favors the existence of Yeti.

This village also has a school founded by the Edmund Hillary Foundation. You will end the day with a yoga and meditation that will make your experience in the trekking region as an enriching one. Stay overnight will be at the tea house in Khumjung.

Day 8: Trek to Monjo (2835 meters - four to five hours of walking)

As usual, you shall start the day with the morning session of yoga and meditation in this scenic landscape of Khumjung. Starting with an easy half an hours downhill walk from Khumjung today, you will be led to the sister village of Khumjung, the village of Khunde, where you can visit the only hospital available in the whole of Khumbu area, built by Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation.

You will continue after the visit to the hospital past Sherpa settlements, farm fields and long Mani walls, all in the southern direction from the starting point of today’s trek. Further in the trek, you have a short uphill climb to the top ridge of Syangboche air strip and with a big downhill walk to the Dudh Koshi River. As the walk progresses on this steep downhill bit from Syangboche onwards, an aerial view of Namche Bazaar is seen.

On reaching the Namche Bazaar, you will carry on your trekking up to Manjo, the nearby settlement of entry point of Sagarmatha National Park, for the overnight stay. Later in the day, you shall continue with your evening session of the yoga, meditation and yogic breathing for a relaxed mind and body. Overnight will be in Monjo.

Day 9: Trek from Manjo to Lukla (2828 meters or 9279 feet - four to five hours of walking)

The trekking routine begins with the usual session of yoga and meditation for a relaxed mind and body. Today after breakfast, you will retrace back to Lukla with few up and down. Traversing through the winding trail, you pass through several suspension bridges decorated with the prayer flags, rural, and authentic settlements, the train of fellow trekkers, locals with the animals loaded with the goods and the view of the mountains overlooking the entire trail.

You will also trek past the prayer wheels and Mani walls, waterfalls and streams before reaching the destination of Lukla. With the triumphed feeling of accomplishing a feat in the Everest region, you shall have the evening session of the yogic breathing, yoga, and meditation. Overnight stay will be at the tea house in Lukla.

Day 10: Fly back to Kathmandu (1350 meters or 4430 feet)

Your trekking journey will come to an end today though you will still have a couple of days with Trekking Planner. After a quick session of your regular yoga and meditation, you will leave the hotel to catch an early flight to the capital city of Nepal. For the flight, you will check in the airport and have a short but scenic flight back to Kathmandu.

The sight from the aircraft shall be as mesmerizing to you as it was during your flight to Lukla. After landing in the domestic terminal at the Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), you will be transferred to the hotel. You may engage yourself during the day in several activities and shall end the day with an evening yoga and meditation for a relaxed and sound sleep. Overnight stay will be at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 11: Full day in Kathmandu - visit local community with activities or shopping

Today, you have a whole day to spend in the medieval city of Kathmandu valley for various activities, one of which shall involve in the aid of local community. After a relaxing session of yoga, meditation, and yogic breathing, you will leave for some activities after breakfast.

You may choose volunteering activity of your interest which may range from teaching in a school to spending time in the orphanage or old age home and from helping the less developed community to learn some skills of their interest or you may also teach some skills you expertise in.

You may also go for a souvenir shopping as well as normal shopping. After contributing your bit to the community, you shall return to the hotel. You will call it a day with a session of regular yoga and meditation. Overnight will be in Kathmandu.

Day 12: Final departure

The trekking expedition in the beautiful nation comes to an end today as you shall be leaving for your respective destinations. Today, you will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) for your next destination flight after your one last session of yoga, yogic breathing, and meditation which will help to ease out the stress you might have during the long flight.
