In Iceland, a comfortable bed after an outdoor adventure is very important. You can choose between executive or atrium rooms, single or double occupancy.

Executive rooms

Executive rooms offer comfort with Scandinavian luxury. They’re clean, crisp rooms with large bathrooms, lulling each yogi to sleep. You can bask in the thoughtful extras of heated towel racks (a welcome luxury), long tubs and deep, comfortable beds.

Atrium rooms

Atrium rooms offer many of the same comforts of the executive room with a few slight differences. Atrium rooms will look in towards the spacious and natural-light filled lobby area and will be slightly smaller than their executive cousins. All of these rooms can accommodate two beds for roommates and are a wonderfully comfortable.

Iceland is nature at its very finest. The raw and fierce beauty of this country was calling and Amy, the nature-craving yogi, joined forces with a “mother of dragons” running and hiking coach to bring the best of outdoor experiences to the retreaters.

Science suggests that outdoor time is critical to human’s psychological well-being. The theory of “biophillia hypothesis” suggests that people love nature because they evolve from it.

As a yoga retreat planner, Amy understands that nature is instrumental to the joy filled experience of a retreat and has incorporated a week worth of outdoor adventure to store away in the soul for the rest of winter upon completion of this get-a-way.

You will explore waterfalls and geysers, chase the Northern Lights, case the city, and find out what all of the geo-thermal fuss is about. At the end of the retreat, chillax in the world famous Blue Lagoon and breathe in the stunning scenery.

    As a registered yoga teacher, Amy has experience working with both new and experienced practitioners. Her love for Madeline Island and the corresponding outdoor activities has led her to develop specific yoga trainings geared towards the performance athlete and outdoor enthusiast. As a survivor, Amy has also developed a gentle teaching style to encourage other women with health battles to reclaim their bodies and their own inner strength. For this reason, all levels of yoginis are welcomed with a lifted heart to embark on these yoga adventures.

    Jen Theisen is an active mother of five, wife, sister, friend, volunteer, and caring member of the Chippewa Valley community. As a spirited entrepreneur, she recognized the need for connection and encouragement for busy ladies. Jen founded 5ive for Women - a women’s magazine designed to empower and uplift today’s extraordinary woman. In all of this, Jen is an avid runner who has completed over a dozen marathons and has mentored other runners for over a decade.

This retreat will take place in Iceland, an achingly beautiful, sparsely populated island in the North Atlantic. It is a wild and remote place with magma bubbling through its crust and icy waterfalls running through its lush green grass.
