The accommodation options are on shared and private room occupancy basis. The Tranquil Point homestead offers seven light filled and comfortable guest rooms with a capacity of 21 guests. Each bedroom contains beautiful hand crafted furniture made locally from native Tasmanian timbers and the cozy linen is also lovingly hand-made locally. For those who don't mind sharing, there is an ashram room which sleeps six guests. Ashrams usually represent a return to a simpler way of living, which is very different to a hotel. Generally there is a more communal atmosphere and often an expectation that guests will pitch in with whatever needs doing.

The house is warm and welcoming and is completely self-sufficient with rainwater tanks and solar power. It has country style features to make your stay relaxed and comfortable. In the cooler months, warm yourself in front of the large wood heater, chat with new friends. In the warmer months, find a quiet spot outside in the various serene and peaceful sitting places.

Choose from time on meditation rock over-looking the ocean and the Hartz mountains, sit in the shade under the numerous, magnificent Tasmanian blackwood trees, relax in the hammock or read on the sunbed, or simply enjoy breakfast at the various picnic tables dotted around the property, or on the balcony as you take in the ocean views, peace, and tranquility.

When in season, feel free to pick the abundant fruit straight from the tree. The homestead has a kitchen for preparing your meals and there are four bathrooms. Please bring your own toiletries.


The Bikram yoga boot camp retreat challenges you to complete six classes in six days with posture clinics to improve your alignment and understanding of the postures. You will love the benefits of Bikram yoga as you create a healthier you.

Bikram yoga

Bikram yoga is a healing, therapeutic yoga. Taking control over your own health is empowering. All classes at Tranquil Point are beginner classes and are taught by a certified Bikram yoga teacher. Bikram yoga classes are accessible to everybody and everybody regardless of age, shape, size, or experience level.

The most important aspect you must learn is to breathe. Everything else is optional. Listen very closely to your teacher and they will tell you how to do each posture in detail. The class is 90 minutes in a heated room. The heat allows your muscles to stretch safely, your body to clean itself through sweating, and your blood to thin allowing it to move more efficiently through your circulatory system, cleaning the veins, arteries, and organs.

The Bikram yoga beginner’s class is taught in a specific way that is inclusive of every body, first timers, beginners, people with limited mobility, chronic illness, and experienced practitioners alike. It can take a few classes to get used to the sequence, so Tranquil Point recommends you to practice in as many classes as possible. In a short space of time, you will begin to heal your aches and pains, and you will have more energy.
