This seasonal yoga retreat focuses on each season of the year; winter, spring, summer, and autumn. Each season has its own characteristics in which Touring Catalonia works on. Touring Catalonia practices Hatha yoga as they believe it brings health benefits by doing it regularly. In addition, it is better when it is applied to each season of the year because it protects humans body from bad things caused by the weather changes. This seasonal yoga is also to achieve a better mind state and sleep, and also to increase the energy.
Each participant will be accommodated in Hotel Peralada Wine Spa and Golf in Girona, Spain. This is a classy 5 star hotel located in Girona, Spain with a unique natural environment. The room is a shared room, but you can have a private room if youd like.
As the package name suggests, this yoga retreat program has four different yoga retreat packages based on the four different seasons of each year in certain places which are winter yoga retreat, spring yoga retreat, summer yoga retreat, and autumn yoga retreat. The yoga practiced in each retreat is Hatha yoga. Every yoga session will be preceded by sun salutation.
On the first day you will enjoy a welcome meeting with all the participants and the hotel. In this welcome meeting you are going to do a briefing about the stage and also a small introduction to all the participants.
The yoga practice takes place outdoors, in the gardens among the olives trees (typical from the Empord region). Sometimes the yoga practice will be held in other places, such as The Natural Parc of Cap de Creus and sometimes, depending on the weather forecast, the practice may take place indoors, inside the hotel.
During the day, there is some free time. Tour Catalonia proposes you some different optional activities to enjoy the region.
The winter is the time to rest and relax. The lack of light and the temperature affect our emotions and energy level. According to the Chinese medicine, the winter is the water element or the yin. The body organ related to it is the kidneys which filters the blood to be able to circulate around the body to maintain the equilibrium. Winter is a season where we have to conserve the energy and to keep lucid if you wish to welcome the spring. In winter time we need to load our body, full of power and heat. It is quite important to look for food such as cereals, baked vegetables, legumes or nuts. Always do the convenient yoga exercises, because it is the perfect complement for the body to give it the harmonic movements to cheer it up and calm the pain. Also it could help set the tensions free and it can also act as an antidepressant. In winter, the yoga class is practiced at 07:30 - 08:30 in the morning and 19:00 - 20:00 in the evening.
Spring is the time for the opening, to be bright like the sunshine. It is the time to reborn and renovate. According to the Chinese medicine, spring has the wood element. The body organs related are gallblader and liver. Spring involves the beginning of the growth because the nature is in bloom. In spring it is easy to see clearly, plan ahead, and make decisions. To do it, we need to feel flexible and loosen. The yoga practice can help us feed our vital energy. Stretching muscles, tendons and ligaments could introduce the spring inside us. Spring is the time to flow, create or express how we feel. Also it is the ideal time for body purification, get rid of excess toxins and outpace accumulation from the winter. In spring, the yoga class is practiced at 07:00 - 08:00 in the morning and 20:00 - 21:00 in the evening.
Summer time is the open period, more receptive and fulfilled. Summer is a good season to enjoy the sunshine. Summer is related with fire element. The body organs related are the heart and small intestine. The hearts energy is in charge to direct the emotional and mental activity. Thus, if we have the energy in a good health, our mind stands firm and stable, and we will have clear thoughts and become more alive. Summer is the perfect time to practice a smoother and wiser yoga. Doing every movement and asana softly will help us achieve more concentration and body awareness. At the end of the day, it is recommended to do meditation to decrease the fire element of our body. It is believed to help us balance the nervous system, calming the mind and also activating the circulation system for a better breath. This season requires liquid to drink and also food such as fruits or salads. In summer, the yoga class is practiced at 06:30 - 07:30 in the morning and 20:30 - 21:30 in the evening.
In autumn, the earth begins to moisten. The days are shorter and the leaves fall. We should be aware of external changes to prepare the body for the winter. The element that is associated with this season is metal. The organs of the body are related to the lungs, the long intestine and skin. It is the season where nostalgia and melancholy say goodbye to the summer, so we work to release these emotional and physical states. Again, it is a good time for detoxification and cleansing. Also, gradually introduce more legumes and iron in our diet. The ideal work are the pranayamas that helps us flow, balance and connect the conscious and unconscious - purify blood, increase joy, clean lungs, revitalize circulation to unlock diaphragm and repress emotions, etc. In autumn, the yoga class is practiced at 07:00 - 08:00 in the morning and 20:00 - 21:00 in the evening.
Participant will be taken to the wine spa
The seasonal yoga retreat will take place in the heart of Alt Empord region, between Barcelona and the French border. The landscape and natural environment are unique - idyllic views of the vineyards and the liveliest cultural hot spot in Costa Brava.
Breakfast and dinner are served for each participant and adapted to the season.
The optional activities offered by Touring Catalonia are based on availability.
During the free time you can explore the region with bike, you can have a road bike or trekking bike. Touring Catalonia also provides bike for rent.
This bike has a small basket in front of it. The rental price for 1 day is 18 EUR, 2 days is 28 EUR, 3 days is 38 EUR, 4 days is 48 EUR, 5 days is 57 EUR, 6 days is 66 EUR, and 7 days is 75 EUR. For an extra day there will be an additional charge of 8 EUR/day.
It is known as Dali triangle, which are Salvador Dal Theatre-Museum in Figueres, Dal's House in Port Lligat (Cadaqus) and the Gala Dal Castle of Pbol. Salvadr Dali is a famous surrealist painter.
This bike has also a small basket in front of it. The rental price for 2 hours is 20 EUR, 1 day is 30 EUR, and 7 days is 150 EUR. You can ask Touring Catalonia for other prices.
The rental price for 1 day is 40 EUR, 2 days is 80 EUR, 3 days is 100 EUR, 4 days is 120 EUR, 5 days is 140 EUR, 6 days is 160 EUR, and 7 days is 175 Euro. For an extra day there will be an additional charge of 15 EUR/day.
If you love photography you can take your camera and shoot unique landscapes. There are many beautiful places you can find.
Try to have a running day on the Natural Parc of Cap de Creus.

Take the route AP7 until Girona.
Drive across C-66 and A-26 roads until Olot.
Low cost flights are available to Girona Airport (GRO) mainly Ryanair. In Summer there will be more airlines available. From Girona Airport (GRO) you can take a taxi to Hotel Peralada. There is another option from the airport - you can take a free bus to Barcelona which takes around 20 minutes. Next, take a train to Figueres which takes around 40 minutes to one and a half hour depending on the train you choose. Then you can a taxi to Peralada hotel.
