Tonic Retreats is delighted to announce a collaboration with acclaimed yoga teacher, Scott Johnson from Stillpoint Yoga, London to bring you a Mysore style yoga and mindfulness retreat in magical Marrakech this autumn. Re-energize with a healthy dose of yoga, gourmet food, and adventure. At the end of the retreat, they aim to leave you feeling restored, invigorated, and inspired - with a few new friends along the way.

During this retreat, you will be staying in a traditional boutique riad in the Marrakech Medina. When you book the shared twin room package, you will be paired with a retreat participant with the same sex.

Tonic Retreats Meditation and Yoga Retreat Morocco Program

Each early morning and late afternoon, there will be mindfulness meditation sessions so you can meet different parts of the day with intention and awareness.

The yoga schedule will be based on the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga method. The morning asana class will be Mysore assisted self-practice with Scott and Tonic teacher, Pip Taverner. Knowledge of this method would be beneficial. However, Scott will also offer an extra class in the morning for beginners who wish to learn this method of practicing yoga from the beginning.

The Mysore assisted self-practice class allows you to develop your own personal practice under the guidance of an experienced teacher, while practicing in a room with others. You get to have a one-to-one experience in a class with Scott tailoring the practice to you, your body, and your life. You will leave the retreat with a deeper understanding and experience of how you fully connect to your yoga practice.

The afternoons will have workshops based on the techniques and principles of Ashtanga yoga and mindfulness. You will be looking deeply into how these disciplines interact, how they deepen your personal yoga practices, and how the practice filters into your life.

This retreat will be eligible for those looking for CPD contact hours through Yoga Alliance UK. It is designed to be suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners and the group may be split accordingly to accommodate different abilities.

Scott Johnson
Yoga Alliance RYT 200 (Ashtanga Yoga)
Scott has been teaching Ashtanga yoga since 2003 and co-founded Stillpoint Yoga London in 2009 with the late Ozge Karabiyik. He has undergone extensive training with John Scott and Lucy Crawford since 2001 and is a graduate of their highly regarded two-month 200-hour teacher training programme in 2009. Scott’s years of dedicated and committed teaching each morning has led SYL to become a highly respected central London Ashtanga yoga shala. He teaches with the greatest of love and respect to the lineage of Sri K Pattabhi Jois, which he is connected to through his teacher and friend John Scott.
Pip Taverner
As an experienced Ashtanga and Vinyasa teacher with a knack for pitching, Pip's sessions just at the right level of challenging. Pip will help you get the most out of your daily yoga practice. Thanks to her passion for electronic and house music, none of her classes would be complete without a curated soundtrack to get the vibes flowing. Trained by Brian Cooper of Union Yoga (200-hour RYT), she has recently practiced under the guidance of John Scott, David Keil, and Dena Kingsberg, sharing their ethos and teachings in her classes. She is warm, witty, and great to be around.

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Marrakesh Menara Airport (RAK). Transfer to and from this airport is included in the price. Tonic Retreats will pick you up from the airport.

Cancellation Policy

  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 30 days before the arrival date.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 30 days before arrival.
