Tipi Village Retreat LLC is a haven away from the ordinary. Located in the Mohawk Valley near Eugene, Oregon, Tipi Village Retreat is perfectly positioned for adventure. There are beautiful day-trip destinations to the North, East, West, or South - may they be on two or four wheels.

With its secluded woodland setting, its unusual mix of dwellings (five tipis, and the Master Bedroom Suite), and its friendly hospitality - it provides an ideal setting for group retreats, family reunions, weddings, or commitment ceremonies, celebrations of life, workshops, and other overnight events. It is a great place for any adventurous traveler wanting a unique lodging experience.

The tipis are furnished in a Zen style. They have beautiful stone floors with rugs, warm and comfy beds with down comforters, and wool blankets for the cool Oregon summer nights. For a more traditional sleeping experience, there are cabins or rooms.

All tipis and cabins have access to a centrally located bathhouse with two full bathrooms. The Master Bedroom Suite and the Studio have their own private bathrooms. There is an additional bathroom available in the main house.

Time takes on a different meaning out here. You feel yourself relax at a slower pace - into the here and now of birds singing and water flowing. If you sit still, you can observe the wild flock of quail, the occasional pheasant, or the wild turkeys and deer coming through on their daily routes.

In the spring, you will see elk bulls grazing at the edge of the forest, and in the fall Oregon Chinook salmon swimming upstream in the creek. If you sit still, you will experience nature’s silence and stillness. You will find an atmosphere of respect amongst these tall trees. Respect for the land, the keepers of the land, all living creatures, and for Mother Nature.

Sitting Bull Tipi

This is the first tipi they put up in the woods is located in the center of the forest, and it was dedicated to Sitting Bull, chief of the Lakota. The floor of this tipi is made of Lakota limestone - and to complete your Lakota experience, you will sleep in a cozy, king-size bed under a warm down comforter, covered with a buffalo hide.

Sacagawea Tipi

It is a sweet location, near the edge of the forest. On one side its neighbors are tall cedar trees, on the other side it offers a filtered view of an open field.

The Sacagawea Tipi is one of the two forest tipis the team added to their collection in the spring of 2009. There are now three forest tipis, all connected by trails and within sight of each other, but with plenty of private space in between.

The interior of this tipi features a stone floor with wool rugs and a queen size bed - so comfortable, you might want to stay in bed and enjoy a morning of listening to the birds - or open the door and watching the deer, the wild turkeys or the flock of quail wandering by.

Hiawatha Tipi

Deep in the forest where the deer bed down for the night - and yet within distant sight of the other forest tipis - make this tipi your home for a restful sanctuary. The forest offers a deep healing silence that we all need to retreat to in order to recover our senses from the noisy and rushed world in which we spend our daily lives.

In this deep silence, you can hear your soul speak to you.

The colors of the interior are kept warm and vibrant, and just like the other forest tipis, it has electricity - and the light at night turns the tipis into magic lanterns. A cozy down comforter provides a warm bed for all those cool summer nights.

Calapooya Tipi

This was the fourth forest tipi (now five with Crazy Horse), beautifully sheltered by a stand of tall cedar trees, and close enough to the creek to hear the comforting sound of the water. The light inside is dimmed and soothing. This tipi also has a beautiful stone floor, covered with a wool rug for warmth and beauty. The bed is queen size, comforter covered with extra wool blankets to keep it cozy in Oregon's cool summer nights.

Master Bedroom Suite

The Master Bedroom Suite is located in the South-East corner of the house, closest to the creek. A patio door connects this centrally located room with the heart of the party by the fire circle.

The flowing water is the last sound you hear before you gently drift away - and it might be the first sound that greets you in the morning, together with the morning sun and the birds. The walls are kept in soothing greens, and the tallest wall shows the rich texture of American Clay.

The Tipi Village Retreat team loves rugs, and you will see a nice display of rugs draped over the concrete wall that separates the bed from the closet. The bed is King size and very comfortable.
