The guest suites are classically furnished and sympathetically styled to ensure a comfortable stay. All rooms are double ensuites rooms (with one suite having been the bedroom for an Earl), although two have single beds. All are offered on a single occupancy basis.

All bedrooms have complimentary tea and coffee facilities, color TV, crisp cotton linen, clock radio / docking station, and hairdryer. There is a complimentary Wi-Fi connection, a full complement of toiletries, and towels. These are provided to ensure a special Highland sleep follows practice.


This weekend, nestled in Highland Perthshire, will include four yoga practices to help you reconnect and take time out. Yoga will take place in the private studio within the house. Each practice will have a specific focus to take you on a journey throughout the body using both dynamic and restorative practices. Yoga practice will be mix of Hatha and Ashtanga. No previous yoga experience required.

Fernbank Guest House is situated in the beautiful Perthshire market town of Aberfeldy, famous for its clean air and fine highland scenery. It is close to independent shops, great cafes, and restaurants.


Welcome soup and refreshments on arrival, breakfasts, mid-morning snack / juices, and light lunch are all included. Evening meals are not included, although there are some excellent local nourishing restaurants, which Tina and Jason will guide you to.


Highland Perthshire local produce is at the heart of all your breakfasts. Should you have a particular request, Tina Logan and her team will try their best to accommodate. Breakfast is served between 8 and 9:30 a.m. (earlier by special request). A selection of specialty breakfast teas and freshly brewed coffee are available. A sample menu is shown below.

  • Freshly squeezed and pressed juices

  • Energy packed granola, with toasted seeds and nuts, served with berries, yoghurt, and honey
  • Traditional Scottish, or for the adventurous, banana and cinnamon porridge

  • A selection of breads available to toast, with local jams and marmalades
  • Scrambled local free-range eggs and dunkeld smoked salmon, on toasted bagels

Menu 3

  • Scottish breakfast, comprising any combination of specialty sausages, black pudding, cured back bacon, potato scones, local free-range eggs, roasted tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms, and good old Heinz baked beans.

  • Birks Cinema: A community-run, single-screen cinema.
  • Enchanted Forest: Britain’s biggest outdoor sound and light show takes place annually and is set in Faskally Woods.
  • Perthshire Amber: Annual arts festival with concerts, open mic, workshops, talks, and music sessions.
  • Perthshire Open Studios: Annual nine-day event where artists and makers throughout Perthshire and Kinross-Shire open their studios and workshops to the public.


  • Aberfeldy Farmers’ Market: Found in the Town Square on the first Sunday of each month from April to October between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Local food, art, and craft stalls.
  • Homer: A delightful homeware and lifestyle brand. Handpicked pieces and a mix of vintage and new furniture, quirky accessories and contemporary soft furnishings.
  • Spirit of Wood: Calum and Nicki have created a truly unique environment in which to showcase premium quality, solid wood furniture, giftware, and home accessories – all hand-sourced. Well worth a visit.
  • Haggarts: Scottish tweed and tailoring with art, letterpress and design by Ryan Hannigan.
  • The Watermill: Charming bookshop, café and gallery in a converted oatmeal mill in Aberfeldy.
  • House of Bruar: Scottish country clothing specialists and an extensive food hall which is hard to resist.
  • Herd of Sporrans: Handcrafted sporrans, belts and other exquisite Scottish gifts.

Great outdoors

  • Adventure activities with Beyond Adventure: Outdoor activities including open canoeing (taster sessions) and guided trips, canyoning, gorge walking, kayaking, cycling tours, indoor and outdoor climbing and paddle-boarding.
  • Highland Fling Bungee and Swing: The most awesome adrenaline experience based in an iconic Scottish setting.
  • Scottish Quads: Experience quad biking at its best, treks to suit all abilities, suitable for ages 12 years plus.
  • Cycling: To aid your exploration, four mountain bikes and two e-bikes (electrically assisted cycles) are permanently available for guests to hire and use during their stay. Each bike costs just 25 GBP per day (40 GBP per day for the e-bike) and includes a helmet, rucksack, spares and maps. Available on a first-come, first-served basis. You will have a myriad of cycle tracks and trails leading from the guesthouse. Tina Logan are able to drop / pick you up should you wish to explore a more remote location. They can provide a local guide to accompany you, to ensure you don’t get lost.
  • Balnaguard Glen: Explore the wonderful juniper woodland which has been designated as a Site of Specific Scientific Interest.

Birks of Aberfeldy

A local walk along a natural fault in the landscape, through which the Birks flows freely. Magical falls and majestic trees line the route, giving inspiration to Robbie Burns famous poem, ‘the birks of Aberfeldy’.

Faskally Wood

Extensive woodland paths and picnic spots with lochside views, wildlife and home to the Enchanted Forest.

The Perthshire Gardens Collection

A collection of gardens that have been working together since 2001. These gardens include Scone Palace, Glendoick, Glamis, Branklyn, Blair Castle, Cluny, Dundee Botanics, Drummond, Explorers (Pitlochry), Pitmuies, and Cambo in Fife.

The Scottish Crannog Centre

A Crannog is an ancient Loch dwelling. Discover how and why these ancient people built their homes in the water, and experience first-hand how they lived.


Beautiful hamlet and home to the 5000-year-old Fortingall Yew, the oldest living thing on Earth, the birthplace of Pontius Pilate and where a special Victorian Inn will happily serve you fine fayre.


Local courses are available to pay and play in: Strathtay, Mains of Taymouth (Kenmore), Aberfeldy and Pitlochry.

A gentle stroll on a forest trail, a Munro or two, or anything in between. There is an abundance of walks to suit all levels from Fernbank Guesthouse and the surrounding areas. The Forestry Commission website gives comprehensive details of forest trails.

Tina Logan will also have to hand maps for guests, whether your aspiration is Munros or Corbetts – Schiehallion, Ben Lawers, Ben Vrackie and many other hills, lie in wait. They will happily arrange experienced mountain guides to accompany you on your travels, should you wish.

Tina Logan additionally has a visiting Masseur who can offer full-body massages for an additional 50 GBP.
