The guest suites are classically furnished and sympathetically styled to ensure a comfortable stay. All bedrooms are en-suite, with complimentary tea and coffee facilities, color TV, crisp cotton linen, clock radio/docking station, and hairdryer. The house provides complimentary Wi-Fi, a full complement of toiletries and towels. The rooms are flexible in their configuration to welcome family, friends, singles, and mixed groups.


The superior suite is named after the waterfall which runs through the Birks of Aberfeldy. Elegantly styled, featuring exquisite decoration, fluffy toweling robes, and a wee dram of Aberfeldy Whisky.

A twin room named after the burn made famous by their own "Rabbie Burns", which runs near the guest house.

Fernbank Guest House is situated in the beautiful Perthshire market town of Aberfeldy, famous for its clean air and fine highland scenery. It is close to independent shops, great cafes, and restaurants.


Highland Perthshire local produce is at the heart of all breakfasts. Should you have a particular request, they will try their best to accommodate. Breakfast is served between 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. or earlier by special request. A sample menu is shown below.

The Tay takeaway option

Fernhouse Banks is delighted to be able to offer an alternative, supplied by The Tay coffee shop in the center of town, where you can choose a breakfast roll, a pot of homemade granola, fruit, and yogurt, and a coffee or tea of your choice, to take-away and enjoy at your leisure (between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Monday to Saturday)

Packed lunches

If you’re planning on exploring the local area, you will need something filling to keep your appetite at bay. On request, they can prepare a packed lunch for you to take out for the day. The packed lunches include homemade deep-filled sandwiches with a selection of fillings to choose from locally sourced cheese, ham, beef, and turkey, a piece of fruit, water, crisps, and a home-baked treat. The packed lunches are priced at 7.50 GBP per person. Fernbank House caters to all specialty diets; please advise when making your booking.

To aid your exploration, four mountain bikes and two e-bikes (Electric assisted cycles) are permanently available for guests to hire and use during their stay. Each bike costs just 25 GBP per day (40 GBP per day for the e-bike) and includes a helmet, rucksack, spares, and maps; available on a first-come, first-served basis. Fernbank House has a myriad of cycle tracks and trails leading from the guesthouse. They are able to drop/pick you up should you wish to explore a more remote location. They can provide a local guide to accompany you, to ensure you don’t get lost.

A gentle stroll on a forest trail, a Munro, or two, or anything in between. There is an abundance of walks to suit all levels from the Fernbank guesthouse and the surrounding areas. The Forestry Commission website gives comprehensive details of forest trails. They also have hand maps for guests, whether your aspiration is Munros or Corbetts, Schiehallion, Ben Lawers, Ben Vrackie, and many other hills, lie in wait. They will happily arrange experienced mountain guides to accompany you on your travels, should you wish.
