Daily surf lessons

There will be surf lessons on each day of your stay. Try out your surfing skills with the best local surfers in the area. They will teach you the basics of paddling out, waiting for the right wave and enjoying your first ride.

Daily infrared sauna treatment

1 treatment per day. Far infrared rays are part of the sun's natural spectrum. The radiant energy produced by an infrared sauna is the same as heat from the sun, with the exclusion of the ultraviolet rays.

The infrared ceramic elements heat source, emits infrared waves that penetrate and relax the body as increased blood circulation warms the skin. A flood of sweat and toxins is released through the skin's open pores as the warm blood circulates deeper throughout the body.

The infrared sauna is a powerful means of cellular cleansing as it increases metabolism and blood circulation. In addition to its use for detoxification it also relaxes muscles, soothes the spirit and rejuvenates the body.

Arrival by bus

From San Jose International Airport, Playa Chiquita is approximately 4 1/2 hours.

The most cost efficient, commonly used option is MEPE, which is the national bus line that runs all over Costa Rica, carrying many travelers to Puerto Viejo hotels.

There are five direct buses from San Jose to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca from the Terminal Caribe at 6 a.m., 10 a.m., 12 Noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The buses are fairly comfortable and cost approx. 9 USD per person.

It is recommended, if possible, to purchase your bus tickets in advance as they sometimes sell out or are standing room only (seats are reserved at time of purchase). If you want to come straight to the Caribbean from your flight, consider booking the airport pickup and bus ticket service which includes pre-purchased tickets for your desired bus departure and a taxi to meet you at the San Jose airport who will bring you to the Caribe bus station.

Arrival by car

From San Jose International Airport, Playa Chiquita is approximately 4 1/2 hours.

You can rent a car from EuropCar Rentals or Hola Car Rentals.

If you would like to rent a car www.poasrentacar.com can avail the service. This company will allow you the option to rent a car from the airport and drop it off in Puerto Verjo.

If you choose to drive we highly recommend renting a GPS as the roads and signs are not easily understood. Please leave early as driving after 5pm can be difficult with the early darkness and winding roads.

Arrival by river rafting

Feeling adventurous? Take the Pacuare river rafting trip and get dropped off right at our doorstep!

The rafting tour operators will pick you up in San Jose in the morning, take you on a four hour rafting trip with breakfast and lunch included and then drop you off at Tierra de Sueos at the end of the day.

For information about the booking conditions, please send Tierra de Yoga an inquiry.

"I led a yoga retreat at Tierra de Suenos and was impressed with how seriously amazing the food was and how accommodating the kind staff was to us! The yoga space was beautiful and tucked away in the jungle. Our cabanas were not large, but all we needed, comfortable, and charming. I highly recommend staying here."

"This was a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Alejandro was a great host. Very helpful and gracious. We did our best to communicate in broken Spanish and English. Just be pre warned that there is no wifi or hot water. It was nice to disconnect and unplug for the weekend but we did not know that going into it. The beach right across from the hotel is the most beautiful in the region (in my opinion) and breakfast was perfect! I wish we could have taken a yoga class, but the instructor was out the time we were there. But it is a nice escape in the middle of jungle with access to the beach."

"Plain and simple, this place is amazing! Peaceful and quiet. A little stream runs past my bugalow next to a tree that could easily be over 200 years old as I swing peacefully in a hammock on the porch. Like I said awesome! Beautiful area for yoga with sauna. Playa chiquita is gorgeous and nearby, a little walk through the jungle to what feels like your private beach. Water is a little rough & with some rocks and coral but there is an area to swim. I purchased a boot camp package that included all my meals. Every meal was healthy and delicious at Tierra de los Suenos! Their is Wi-Fi in the lounge. Alejandro was a most gracious host and excellent chef. Tierra de los suenos lodge was so lovely. I would highly recommend to anyone considering this property."

"My stay at Tierra de Suenos was truly a dream. Alejandro and Daniela were wonderfully accommodating. My cleanse went smoothly and the meals thereafter were phenomenal. Alejandro shows exceptional skills and passion for hospitality, food, and resources management. He has a pleasant and effective manner with the grounds crew. I also noticed that the premises are consistently clean and tidy. Daniela is a valuable asset with her business savvy and bilingual skills. You are fortunate to have found the perfect team to manage your property. Peace, Cheryl"

"I had the great privilege of staying at Tierra de Suenos in July for a weekend visit to Puerto Viejo. I was debating several different places to stay at and settled on Tierra de Suenos because of its good reviews and proximity to Playa Chiquita. So glad I did! I had a beautiful little bungalow in the middle of the rainforest that - while simple - was exactly what I was looking for. The bed was cozy, it was great having hot water, and I absolutely adore my porch area with a hammock. It did rain most of my time there, but I loved it just the same, spending a lot of time reading on the hammock (it was a solo trip just looking for relaxation, anyway). I loved hearing all the howler monkeys and there was a lot of wildlife itself on the property. It is a short and easy walk to the beach, although I did need to ask for directions. :-) Both Maria and Alejandro were awesome, kind, and genuinely helpful. Breakfast was also delicious and healthy. I can't wait to go back!"

"Loved it here, we had an awesome treehouse and saw animals we didn't see elsewhere which was exciting. We slept in a treehouse and had a bathroom with a huge shower, five of us had no problems with the accommodations and enjoyed sitting on the deck with a bench, chairs and hammock. Great staff, very friendly and gave us coffee, fruit and eggs and toast for breakfast which was unexpected and a nice treat in an outdoor setting. Even without a reservation we felt welcomed and the staff did everything possible to accommodate us.we loved the natural, jungle setting and can't wait to go back. You will not regret staying here. Peace."

"From the moment we arrived we were treated with the utmost kindness even though we arrived just before they were ready to close down for the night. In the morning we got our bearings and the place that we found ourselves in was absolutely beautiful. The lodge has only a few bungalows spaced apart so you feel like you are alone in the jungle. They offer breakfast and dinner on their open air patio near reception. There is a very nice yoga studio with daily classes. The lodge is nicely located just a short 10min drive or 20min walk to Puetro Viejo, a quaint little beach town with many beaches that is full of very friendly and helpful people. I can't wait till we get the chance to go back."
