Each ecotourist-minded bungalow has a different theme expressed in the hand carved wood, tile mosaics, painted murals, and artistic details. Enjoy hot showers and cool breezes from the overhead fan and large screened windows. While staying in one of the bungalows you can experience ecotourism by getting close to nature, sleeping to the sounds of the jungle, the 100% organic toiletries, linens, cleaning products, and relaxing in the hammock on your front porch. Observe heliconias, gingers, sloths, humming birds, toucans, and much more. The bungalows are adorned with orthopedic mattresses, over 300 thread count sheets, and soft organic bamboo and cotton towels.

Bungalow

The standard Caribbean bungalows have space for 1 - 2 ecotourists. The hand-carved canopy beds are queen sized and just one per bungalow. Single beds are added to accommodate shared facilities throughout your stay. The canopy mosquito net on each bed not only protects you from possible mosquitoes, but adds to a rustic and romantic ecotourism experience for your stay in beautiful Costa Rica. These five bungalows all have a private bathroom and spacious front porch great for relaxing and enjoying the surrounding nature. The standard bungalows are perfect for enjoying time off from your schedule and a simple and elegant getaway.

Casita

Zen Garden, fondly known as the Casita, is two stories and can accommodate up to 4 people. This little house is perfect for guests who like to have more space and the option of cooking for themselves. The first floor of the Casita is the same as the others, with a queen bed and bathroom. The second floor has a kitchen with extra seating and a futon / pull-down sofa, making a nice living space or a place to sleep two more! This bungalow is highly recommend to honeymooners or couples looking for a particularly special experience. The second floor balcony offers fabulous views of the rain forest canopy.

Passion Yoga School Information

At Passion Yoga School, they take joy in supporting the whole practitioner, not just the physical body. They lead you through a journey to connect with your highest Self. You will learn how to bring the deepest aspects of your being into your yoga teaching, and inspire and support your students with your own unique skills.

You will learn how to sequence a healthy variety of Hatha classes. Adi Shakti's primary teaching style is a dynamic vinyasa style with a heavy focus on the philosophy, mantra, and eastern anatomy (chakras, energy lines, etc) throughout the class. You will walk away with the skills to offer an athletic vinyasa sequence for practitioners that need this to quiet the mind, as well as the skills to develop a much slower, more mindful practice for more advanced practitioners.

You will learn Western anatomy as well as Eastern energetics. Adi's original training was in a US vinyasa based program, but her deeper study was in India with her teacher, Yogirishi Vishvketu, where they focused more on the deeper layers of practice. The program is a healthy integration of those two components of practice, in addition to focusing on uncovering our shadow self and healing our own personal trauma through the practice of yoga (posture, chanting, meditation, etc).

You will be exposed to a huge variety and encouraged and empowered to draw from your own body wisdom to develop your own teaching voice. We provide you with the foundation, and you offer as you'd like.

"It's easy to miss the entrance to TDS, since the sign is on the gate facing the road. But if you've reached Shawanda Lodge, you've gone too far. It was a bit tricky making a direct booking, but ultimately cheaper than going through booking.com. We had an enjoyable time, going down to the beach and soaking up the sand and beautifully warm sea. Not many people around at the end of September. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our cabin. The balcony with hammock really made it; there's not enough space in the bedroom to sit down. There's an overhead fan and a free-standing one (which didn't work) and it wasn't as warm as we expected in the evening. Get used to the howler monkeys and noise of the rain - this is Costa Rica after all! There's no need to wander far for eating, with Pucinella just across the road serving good, basic and reasonably priced Italian fare. There's a supermarket a few hundred metres away where you can get stuff for breakfast and lunch. TDS breakfast is wholesome but over-priced at $10. And remember this is a vegan hotel! You're not supposed to drink alcohol in your room (yes, matron) though no one reprimanded us for the empty wine bottle. As the title says, it was comfortable and convenient but nothing outstanding. Wi-fi works fine around reception. It's expensive at US$110 a night (low season), and the 5% charge for using credit cards could surely be built into the cost of the room."

"We found Tierra de Suenos by a Group On offer and wow am I glad we did! While it did take a few hours to get there, it was definitely worth the trip. The property was stunning, well maintained and spotless! We loved meeting Mariela and her family when we arrived and our bungalow was gorgeous with a beautiful canopy bed and well kept bath. The sounds of the jungle were mesmerizing at night and we loved to explore the area during the day. Breakfast was exquisite being made of fruit and other local ingredients and served out on an open patio. They offered yoga daily as well as connected us with any kind of excursion we might have wanted. The area around Tierra de Suenos offered many things to see and even a very nice beach! I definitely recommend Tierra de Suenos for a wonderful place to relax and rejuvenate!"

"Everything was great, we had an amazing time! Our bungalow was very clean & equipped with everything we needed--even mosquito netting over the bed. The breakfasts were fresh and yummy, yoga class very relaxing and the weather was perfect. If you like being secluded and surrounded by nature then this is the place for you. Plenty of great places to eat close by within walking or biking distance. I wish we could have stayed longer, maybe next visit!"

"From the moment we arrived we were treated with the utmost kindness even though we arrived just before they were ready to close down for the night. In the morning we got our bearings and the place that we found ourselves in was absolutely beautiful. The lodge has only a few bungalows spaced apart so you feel like you are alone in the jungle. They offer breakfast and dinner on their open air patio near reception. There is a very nice yoga studio with daily classes. The lodge is nicely located just a short 10min drive or 20min walk to Puetro Viejo, a quaint little beach town with many beaches that is full of very friendly and helpful people. I can't wait till we get the chance to go back."

"This was a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Alejandro was a great host. Very helpful and gracious. We did our best to communicate in broken Spanish and English. Just be pre warned that there is no wifi or hot water. It was nice to disconnect and unplug for the weekend but we did not know that going into it. The beach right across from the hotel is the most beautiful in the region (in my opinion) and breakfast was perfect! I wish we could have taken a yoga class, but the instructor was out the time we were there. But it is a nice escape in the middle of jungle with access to the beach."

"Plain and simple, this place is amazing! Peaceful and quiet. A little stream runs past my bugalow next to a tree that could easily be over 200 years old as I swing peacefully in a hammock on the porch. Like I said awesome! Beautiful area for yoga with sauna. Playa chiquita is gorgeous and nearby, a little walk through the jungle to what feels like your private beach. Water is a little rough & with some rocks and coral but there is an area to swim. I purchased a boot camp package that included all my meals. Every meal was healthy and delicious at Tierra de los Suenos! Their is Wi-Fi in the lounge. Alejandro was a most gracious host and excellent chef. Tierra de los suenos lodge was so lovely. I would highly recommend to anyone considering this property."

"I had the great privilege of staying at Tierra de Suenos in July for a weekend visit to Puerto Viejo. I was debating several different places to stay at and settled on Tierra de Suenos because of its good reviews and proximity to Playa Chiquita. So glad I did! I had a beautiful little bungalow in the middle of the rainforest that - while simple - was exactly what I was looking for. The bed was cozy, it was great having hot water, and I absolutely adore my porch area with a hammock. It did rain most of my time there, but I loved it just the same, spending a lot of time reading on the hammock (it was a solo trip just looking for relaxation, anyway). I loved hearing all the howler monkeys and there was a lot of wildlife itself on the property. It is a short and easy walk to the beach, although I did need to ask for directions. :-) Both Maria and Alejandro were awesome, kind, and genuinely helpful. Breakfast was also delicious and healthy. I can't wait to go back!"

"Loved it here, we had an awesome treehouse and saw animals we didn't see elsewhere which was exciting. We slept in a treehouse and had a bathroom with a huge shower, five of us had no problems with the accommodations and enjoyed sitting on the deck with a bench, chairs and hammock. Great staff, very friendly and gave us coffee, fruit and eggs and toast for breakfast which was unexpected and a nice treat in an outdoor setting. Even without a reservation we felt welcomed and the staff did everything possible to accommodate us.we loved the natural, jungle setting and can't wait to go back. You will not regret staying here. Peace."
