Program

Day 1: Yangon Arrival

Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by your driver who will accompany and transfer you to your hotel. There will be a buffet dinner with show at Karaweik Hall and you'll be spending the night in Yangon. Please note that the standard check-in time is at 2:00 p.m., depending on your arrival time, the program will be adjusted accordingly.

Meal: Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2: Yangon City Tour

Yangon, formerly known as Rangoon, is a relatively quiet and charming city. Its impressive colonial and spiritual heritage makes it one of the most fascinating cities in Southeast Asia. After breakfast, you will first visit Sule Pagoda which is a 2200-year-old temple surrounded by government buildings and commercial shop.

Your excursion begins with the tour through the center viewing old colonial style buildings. Before that, you'll pass along the way to Mahabandoola Park where Independent Monument exists. Move on with a tour around the city center which is filled with various historical and colonial buildings. Then, visit Chaukhtatgyi Reclining Buddha Image: 230 feet (70 meters) long in the pose of rest, the original image was built in 1907.

Your next stop will be Kandawgyi Park where you will see the Karaweik Hall (a floating barge with the mythical creature on Kandawgyi Lake) for the photo stop. From here, end your day at Shwedagon Pagoda which is one of the wonders of the world. It was built 2500 years ago and enshrined with hair relics of Buddha and a place where to meet devoted Buddhists meditating and praying. Enjoy breathtaking views of the golden stupa from this vantage point. Overnight in hotel.

Meals: Breakfast at the hotel. Lunch and dinner will be at a local restaurant.

Day 3: Yangon - Golden Rock

Morning after breakfast, drive to Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda. On the way, you will have photo stops at the Shwe Nyaung Pin Nat shrine to appeal for a safe journey and at the Htauk Kyant war memorial cemetery compound in which 27000 stone graves of the commonwealth and fallen allied forces soldiers in the Myanmar campaign were honorably kept. Upon arrival at the base camp of the mountain, take Golden Rock (Kyaikhtiyo) truck to drive up the mountain.

Kyaikhtiyo is one of the most interesting tourist destinations famous for its mystical pagoda stands on the gold gilded boulder precariously stand on the edge of the cliff which is over 3000 feet above sea level at Mt.Kyaikhtiyo. After checking in the hotel, visit Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda and observe the local pilgrimages there and enjoy the sunset. Overnight on Kyaikhtiyo Mountain.

Meal: Breakfast at the hotel. Lunch and dinner will be at a local restaurant.

Day 4: Golden Rock - Bago - Yangon Bus Station

After breakfast, drive back to Yangon via Bago and sightseeing includes “Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda” that was originally built by the Mon to a height of 23 meters in the eighth century and was rebuilt higher several times until it finally reached its present 114-meter stature in 1954, the highest pagoda in Myanmar.

“Kanbawzathardi Palace” the famous palace of King Bayinnaung (1551-1581 A.D.) is being extensively excavated and some buildings are being rebuilt. “Shwethalyaung Pagoda” was built in 994 A.D. by King Mingadippa, It is 55 meters long and 16 meters high, another biggest reclining Buddha image in Myanmar built during the ninth century. “Kyeik Pun Pagoda” was built by King Dhamma Zedi in 1476 A.D., four gigantic Buddha images all in sitting posture facing the four cardinal points of the compass.

After dinner, drive back to Yangon Highway bus compound and leave to Bagan by overnight bus at 21:00. Overnight on the bus.

Day 5: Arrive in Bagan

Upon arrival to Bagan (NyaungOo), a local guide will pick you up at the bus compound and transfer to local breakfast shop. After that, you will start your journey to Bagan. It located on the banks of the Ayeyarwady (Irrawaddy) River, is home to the largest and densest concentration of Buddhist temples, pagodas, stupas, and ruins in the world with many dating from the 11th and 12th centuries.

On arrival, your journey begins with a visit an elevated temple from where you will have a panoramic view of the magnificent plains of Bagan. Continue with a visit to the golden Shwezigon Pagoda, first and prototype monument, which was built in Myanmar style in 1087. Then, visit Gubyaukgyi, a cave temple at Wetkyi-Inn Village which is well-known for its exquisite jataka mural paintings and the elegant Htilominlo Temple noted for its fine plaster carvings and glazed sandstone decorations.

This afternoon begins with a visit to a traditional lacquer ware workshop where you can observe the production of one of Myanmar’s best-known handicrafts. Continue to Ananda Temple, an architectural masterpiece and one of Bagan’s most beautiful temples. Built in the early Mon-style, Ananda contains two unique Buddha images whose expressions seem to change depending on the distance from which the statue is viewed.

From there, travel by horse cart for a tour passing Thatbyinnyu, the highest temple in Bagan, massive Dhammayangyi Temple, noted for its remarkable brickwork, and Sulamani Temple. Enjoy an unforgettable sunset over the plains from the upper terrace of one of the temples. Overnight in Bagan Hotel.

Meal: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be at a local restaurant.

Day 6: Bagan Full Day - Bagan Bus Station

After breakfast at your hotel, you'll visit Nyaung Oo Market where villagers gather every day to buy and sell their produce and other goods. Continue to Myinkaba village and take a short walking tour to explore the temples of Manuha and Nan Paya. Explore more temples in the area, visit more craft shops or return to your hotel for a break to relax from the midday heat.

This afternoon, continue to the rural village of Minnanthu, one of Bagan’s least visited areas. Here you will explore temples such as Payathonzu, Lemyentha, and Nandamannya before heading to the riverside pier. Board a local boat for a slow cruise down the Irrawaddy River. As you cruise the waters, observe the lifestyle of the fishermen and riverside villagers, as well as enjoy the unique perspective of Bagan’s temples.

You will transfer to Highway Bus station and proceed to Nyaung Shwe (Gate of Inle Lake) by overnight bus (JJ Express). Overnight on the bus.

Meal: Breakfast at the hotel. Lunch and dinner will be at a local restaurant.

Day 7: Arrive in Kalaw - Pindaya - Kalaw

Upon arrival to Kalaw, you will have breakfast at a local restaurant and head out to Pindaya cave before continuing to Inle Lake. Pindaya is a pretty town in Shan State and located in a fertile valley bordered by the high mountain range in the west. The road to Pindaya is highly scenic views which are fully multi-color fields, ethnic villages, orange farms, Pinetree-clad hills, and farms with different vegetation that could catch your interest and also provides the pleasurable rolling hills.

Pindaya caves are Buddhist pilgrimage site and a tourist attraction located on a limestone ridge. There are three caves on the ridge which runs north-south, but only the southern cave can be entered and explored. It set in a limestone ridge overlooking a picturesque lake where thousands of different types of Buddha images are a display in the various cave chambers. After that, you will be back to Kalaw and spend the night there.

Meal: Breakfast at the hotel. Lunch and dinner will be at a local restaurant.

Day 8: Kalaw Trekking

After your breakfast, you will start yoga session in the hotel with a local yoga teacher. It’s then your leisure for a while until check out. Pick up by a car to the trekking point after lunch. Begin trekking with a beautiful view of rice terraces in the valley surrounded by pine forest. Walk through the pine forest along the way to Pa-O village.

Along the way, meet with the local people working hard in the fields of garlic and rice harvest. See the amazing view of the highest mountain in the area with several villages at the bottom. Visit Pan lone village of Pa-O tribes of Mongolian origin where women wear traditional costumes of indigo color dresses with bright red colored head scuff. You can learn about their interesting culture and traditions.

Visit a family home and have tea together. Continue your journey for an hour to Sha - Pin village of Danu tribe. Along the way, you will pass through thick pine forest with great views and visit a forest monastery. Visit the village of Danu tribe at the top of the mountain with bird's eye view from there and continue trekking for 2.5 hours with the view of the vast valley filled with rice terraces and small villages. Dinner and overnight in the monastery.

Day 9: Kalaw - Inle Lake

After breakfast, you will visit small villages and have lunch at a local restaurant. Then, proceed to Inle Lake by car and overnight in Inle Lake. Transfer to your hotel in Inle Lake to check in.

Meal: Breakfast at the hotel. Lunch and dinner will be at a local restaurant.

Day 10: Inle Lake

After breakfast, you will spend the day exploring in Inle Lake by long and narrow wooden boats. And today also is one of the easiest days along the trip. The excursion will start at Ywama Village. Then you will proceed to Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the lake’s main sanctuary which contains five sacred Buddha images covered in gold leaf. Along the way, you will see the fishermen who row their boats with their legs and can see their floating gardens built up from strips of water hyacinth, bottomed lake weed, marsh, and mud and anchored to the bottom of the lake with bamboo poles.

This lake is a unique place because of its culture and then you continue to Inn Paw Khone Village for its weaving looms. On the way back from Inn Paw Khone, you will visit Nampan Village and have a short meditation (without a teacher) on the boat at sunset time. After that, you will go back to your hotel in Inle lake later on. Overnight on the lake.

Meal: Breakfast at the hotel. Lunch and dinner will be at a local restaurant.

Option: Meditation can be in Mogok Vipassana Meditation Centre in Nyaung Shwe Town without a master. A donation around 3 - 5 USD per pax or higher based on the client’s desire is recommended for the place usage.

Day 11: Inle Lake - Yangon Departure

After breakfast and check out hotel, transfer to the airport for a flight to Yangon. Head to Bogyoke Market, formerly known as Scott’s Market, where you can browse through the wide selection of Myanmar handicrafts and other goods (Note: closed on Mondays and public holidays) before transfer back to your hotel.

You can buy or observe a variety of interesting Myanmar lacquerware, gems, and Jewellery at this market. Continue your tour by passing City Hall, a Little India, and a China town. Later on, transfer to Yangon International Airport (RGN) for your departure flight.
