Laura Bell

Founder of The Zest Life. She landed into yoga quite literally after being thrown out of a boat in Australia 11 years ago and landing with a broken back. After 3 months of rehabilitation she was able to walk again but was told her passion of running was no longer an option and that yoga would be the best form of exercise to aid her recovery. This news did not go down all that well to an outgoing, adventurous 18 year old, but yoga has since changed her life in a direction that she did not even know existed.

She came at yoga from a physical point of view due to her injuries, and led very dynamic Ashtanga based classes in and around North Wales. Traveling once again to Mysore, India to study with Sharath Rangaswary to further her skills in Ashtanga yoga. She has since carried out a number of training courses over the years and continues to further her yoga training with various teachers from around the world, studying with David Williams, Danny Paradise, Mathew Sweeny, Gurmkh Gurmkh, Eionn Finn, Uma Dinsmore Tuli, Ruth Gilmore and gaining qualifications in Blissology yoga, children’s yoga, pregnancy and post-natal yoga and Swedish full body massage.

She has a personal and friendly yet professional attitude towards her teaching, offering a style of yoga that is dynamic and challenging with sequences set to rejuvenate the body from the inside out. She continues to practice yoga at a physical level but through continued Vipassana meditation she has developed a more spiritual path to her practice, which she incorporates into her teachings both on and off the mat.

Cathy Ibbotson

Cathy is a student yoga teacher, training with the British Wheel of Yoga. She has been practicing yoga for about 7 years now and seems to get more passionate about it the longer she does it. Yoga has brought so many positive changes into Cathy’s life and the lessons learnt on the mat are invaluable when faced with the realities of day to day living. The beauty of yoga is that it has something for everyone with age, level of fitness and abilities mattering not a bit. She has recently started teaching her own class (Hatha for beginners), which she love but for her practice she likes Vinyasa flow yoga, although it does depend on her energy levels.

Emma Huntly

Emma’s inspiration came from her first Iyengar teacher, who made yoga and life, look serene and effortless. At 21 years old and a little shy she was looking for something from within to help build confidence, tools that would help her throughout life. From the initial focus on alignment, her personal practice deepened and yoga spread out from the mat as she began to embrace all areas of her life. Emma has been teaching adults and children for several years and have experience working with people with autism and special needs. Her teaching covers all aspects of yoga and meditation. Her style reflects a strong focus on balance: mind, body and breath. Emma qualified through a number of well-known children’s yoga courses, as well as a 500 hour diploma in Teaching Yoga (REPS) recognized. Aside from yoga, Emma is a qualified dive instructor and her passions in life are running, swimming, cycling, horse riding and competing in extreme events.

Claire Riley

Claire moved to London as a student that she went to her first yoga class. She has studied over the years with many great teachers and have wanted to teach since her early twenties. With this in mind, Claire amassed stacks of notes from just about every lesson she has ever attended. These have then been assimilated deeply in her own practice, knowledge and understanding. Over the years yoga has been absolutely essential in helping her deal with high stress levels during an insanely hectic lifestyle as well as helping manage many sporting injuries from years of cycling, swimming, cross country and fell running. Claire’s style of yoga is an intuitive, creative fusion of old school Hatha with its emphasis on alignment, energy flow and the breath (prana) along with all the interesting little techniques and nuances she has learned over the years, and more modern flowing, intensive practices such as Vinyasa Flow / Ashtanga etc, which really inspire her. Claire really enjoys being able to help others towards discoveries within themselves through yoga.

Pamela Neal

Pamela has been practicing, studying and teaching yoga for over 30 years. It is a powerful and integral part of her life - “like brushing my teeth”! She is a qualified yoga teacher, having certificates from the ‘Yoga for Health Foundation’, and ‘The British Wheel of Yoga’ - just to reassure you that you can feel safe in your practice with her! Pamela’s aim in teaching is to encourage body, breath and mind to be restored, and for people to have the confidence and control to bring balance and flexibility to their lives as well as to their physical and mental health. She encourages laughter and fun in her classes, not competition or aiming for perfection. And for people to establish a healthier relationship with their body, improving the capacity of the breath, strengthening muscles, working on postural alignment and balancing energy to be able to deal with life’s ‘stuff’.

This retreat will take place at Plas Cadnant. A stylish, secluded country house on the Isle of Anglesey, nestled in 21 acres of private parkland, which gathers together for your pleasure; stunning views over Snowdon, a meandering river, magical waterfalls, world renowned historic gardens, lazy meadows, mature woodland and a new oak framed building perfect for yoga sessions. Described as one of the most amazing retreats on the Isle of Anglesey.

"Laura, I absolutely love your classes - they are such a highlight to my week and in direct contrast to the classes I teach myself. I feel fantastic after every class, but probably the best class is the early morning Friday class, because it sets me up for the day! And I love the challenge you encourage us all to make to take us just that little bit further along the Astanga path each time thank you for being such a lovely teacher."
