Pia is a certified yoga teacher, world traveler, mover, and lover of life. Born in Germany, she is living to travel the world and share her loving kindness and patience to all beings. She loves to share her passion and knowledge about yoga (and the ways to live a peaceful life) and the self-acceptance, peacefulness, and happiness she feels while practicing on her mat. She teaches her own variation of Ashtanga Vinyasa (“Ahimsa Ashtanga” with a special emphasis on sensitivity to your body), Vinyasa Flow classes, Yin and Restorative yoga, and also gladly delights you with a relaxing Thai massage.

"Beautiful and peaceful place"
I loved the place/house of this retreat. It is a nice little farm and so peaceful. I also really liked the morning and afternoon yoga of Pia and also her amazing massage. She explained the yoga very well, which improved my yoga. Every day there was a great breakfast (with delicious tomatoes from the garden) and a dinner with vegetables from the garden. It is a place where you can really relax. Pia and Andrés gave nice recommendations for stuff to do during the day, such as a nice spot at a river and beautiful beaches. They both show a very nice and basic way of living.

I was looking for time and space for selfcare and i found it on the other side of the river. I spent one week in nature, with a mix of relaxing and activating yoga, trips to the sea, time for hiking, healthy food and inspiring talks with Pia and Andrés. Namaste!
I definitly recommend it for yogis, who are loving the nature.

"Best sunny and surfy yoga time"
Pia and Andres are lovely (!) and have a beautiful place that makes you feel very connected to nature.
Although you are free to make your own plans they showed us Cantabria with little hiking and swimming trips to nice places in nature.
The surfing lessons were great at a good school with lovely teachers (I even went back for more). Also being in the water contributes to feeling in nature and compliments yoga very well (physically).
Great vegetarian food mostly made with vegetables from their own garden.
All in all a great step to feeling zen and free. So much so I even started walking barefoot.

"Our stay at Yoga River"
Pia and Andre were fantastic hosts who made us very welcome. The location is very beautiful and tranquil, and there is space to roam, swim in the river, relax in the outdoor spaces, and enjoy watching the horse, sheep and chickens...not forgerting Pepe the dog :-) Our cabin was basic but very comfortable.
Pia was happy for me to run a class which was very appreciated as I had not taught for a while

It was a complete happiness to take part in Yoga River retreat, surrounded by nature, close to the ocean but at the same time aside from the main touristic locations it is unique and highly restorative place. Andreas and Pia have created such an authentic, spiritual and family-like atmosphere that getting there I felt like home.
I enjoyed every yoga practice with Pia, she is very encouraging, responsive, patient and calm teacher! So yogis of all skills level will feel absolutely comfortable there.
It was also so great to walk barefooted everywhere and feel the fresh grass!
I was so happy to meet so warm people there with their extraordinary life stories. That night singing songs by the fire is forever in my heart! The dishes, cooked with love by Andreas are also there!
I am very much grateful to Pia and Andreas for creating such a wonderful experience for us, and I would highly recommend Yoga River for anyone looking for a guidance, rest, peace, and joy!

"Yoga and surf retreat in Solares"
I had a very nice stay at this retreat. I really enjoyed the beautiful surroundings, the morning and evening yoga practice and the surfing lessons. Pia and Andres were very warm and welcoming thus creating a very nice atmosphere. They put in a lot of effort in making sure that their visitors feel at ease.

El entorno y el ambiente. Andrés y Pía saben como manejar grupos heterogéneos, que no es fácil.

"Unexpected hidden treasure!"
Pia and Andres are both very welcoming and warm persons. Pia is an experienced yoga teacher but was extremely patient for yoga newcomers like me. She took her time to explain a lot and help every individual with his/her own needs. I got addicted to yoga through Pia!
During the day they are very flexible to help you organise activities and excursions, but also make you feel at home when you just stay in their house and enjoy the silence, relaxness and nature around you. Personally I went for a lot of walks in the surroundings. Very few people, lots of silence, lots of nice views. But if you want to go to the beach or even visit Santander, you're only 20 minutes away. Great location for different interests!
The best part might be the Thai massage that Pia gave....incredible experience!
They make lovely dinners and it was great sharing experiences and stories together.

We spent 3 days / 2 nights at the Yoga river with Pia. Her retreat is located in a beautiful place in the middle of the nature where the trees, a lovely dog, chicken and a horse keep you company, and instantly help you disconnect from the daily noise. As yoga beginners, we were introduced to Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Yin yoga during morning and evening sessions which took place under a big open tent. Pia has a very holistic approach to yoga and guides you fully through the different positions while emphasising every body's individual abilities. Although three days might seem too little, we really got the sense of reconnection with our bodies. As a bonus, Pia is an awesome Thai massage therapist 🙂 A big thanks, Pia and Andrés!
