"I lived at the yoga forest for a month last year while participating in the Thai Massage Immersion. I must say this is the most magical place I've ever been. It's beautiful beyond words but what really makes it special is the community. There is daily yoga and meditation and Hayley and Niss are both great teachers. We ate all family meals together starting with a meal chant/prayer. I was apart of the first Thai massage program and Niss taught us so much, our group quickly became like family. Everybody who comes to the forest comes to be healed in some way and we all have a mutual understanding. I met the most amazing people during my stay. I was literally happy every single day at The Yoga Forest. I was so happy, that I'm going to frame a big picture of my view of the lake and volcanoes from my room (Lakshmi) and put it by my bed now so I can wake up and see it everyday to bring that same vibe into my daily life. I really recommend to stay at least a week to really get to feel the magic. The longer the stay the better. "

"The Yoga Forest is set upon the mountains in San Marcos with majestic views of Lake Atitlan. The various accommodations are surrounded by lush plants and fruit trees, gardens growing fresh organic greens and stunning waterfalls. I stayed at the forest for 10 weeks studying Thai Massage, Yoga and Permaculture. The yoga classes and offerings were extremely transformational and inspiring. I stayed in Lakshmi cabin near the top of the property on top of the Wellness Centre. This 'dormitory' has the most stunning views of the lake and I often woke up in the mornings watching the volcano erupt in the distance. A powerful and healing sanctuary that I would highly recommend anyone visiting Guatemala to come experience for themselves."

"I went for a Thai Massage course on January, I was supposed to stay for two weeks but ended up staying for almost a month. It was an amazing, special and spiritual experience, where I found myself as well as my path again. "

"Sometimes we tend to get lost in our daily routines, forgetting what really matters and what we really desire in the heart. The Yoga Forest offers you the space and the tools to explore yourself and find your humanity within you. "

"I loved the quality and the taste of the food, the cleanliness of the rooms and the toilets, as well as the common areas; I loved the staff and the abundance of the different places I could find to get in touch with myself and others; I loved my teachers, the Guatemalan staff and all the people I met there; I loved what I learned in the course as well as what I learned from the experience of community living and all the contact with nature that you enjoy there."

"I made myself the promise to come back and stay longer, and I hope I can do very soon!"

"I stayed here for a week on my yearly quest to step outside my comfort zone and try something new. I loved it! I stayed in the Ganesh lodge and had the room to myself. The open air wall was amazing and I slept like a baby. The view every morning was breathtaking. The food was delicious and served community style. We all sang a blessing before each meal, ate together at 2 long tables, and cleaned up/washed our own dishes. There was one shower at the top of some (for me) very steep/slippery steps. Even though there was only a single shower for all the guests, I never had to wait to use it. I think there were 2 outhouse type bathrooms. I only used the one nearest my place. It was actually a lot cleaner and better than I was imagining. The gong woke us up at 6:00 each morning for meditation followed by yoga and then breakfast. The rest of the day depended on your purpose for being there. I attended a women's writing retreat in the morning and afternoon. (Storyteller Within) There was also restorative yoga each afternoon at 4:30. People were getting their massage certification, so you could get massages there anytime. All in all, I had a wonderful experience. Everyone was so nice and helpful- a true community!"

"From the moment I entered this beautiful sanctuary, I was incredibly inspired by all the natural beauty of the plants, the view of the lake, and all the intricate eco-friendly elements of the space. I was there for a retreat by the Kula Collective. It was truly life-changing and I will never forget all that I learned and the amazing people that I become so close with. "

"I stayed in the Lakshmi room. It was quite a hike up, but the views were insane and worth the trek. It has lots of windows that wrap around the front. Sunrise views were surreal. The beds were comfortable and warm. There are plenty of shelves to put stuff on, but it could use some hooks to hang things up."

"The yoga was really good and the energy of the people that worked there was great. I loved the Shakti temple the best because of the views, but the Shiva temple is also amazing with its location next to a small waterfall and pond."

"The Yoga Forest is a great place to get away from the craziness and noise of the city. You can really tap into your inner self, do yoga, and meditate. Because of its sustainable and eco-friendly nature, there are some things about it that weren't necessarily glamorous such as the compost toilets and outdoor showers, but I personally loved that by being there I was helping nature and producing such a small carbon footprint. I was so inspired by all the permaculture and sustainability techniques and systems they had in place. There should be more places like this in the world!"

I feel connected to the land, the project and all the wonderful people living and passing through. I feel like a divine flower who has set down strong roots but is transplanting herself into the world, yet will return to her nursery bed one day"

" My stay at the Yoga Forest was nothing short of amazing! My experience in the Lunar Yoga Immersion far surpassed all of my expectations. The land is beautiful. The daily routine at the Forest is full of sweet rituals: We would rise early with the sun to practice meditation, and asana. After nourishing meals, there were philosophy and permaculture lectures, and restorative/yin classes. There was plenty of opportunities to participate in sacred ceremonies--which included many offerings, such as fresh flowers, chanting, music, and sharing. After that I would then settle into my tent under the moon and stars. I've never felt so connected to a community, the earth, and myself as I did during that transformational month at The Yoga Forest. The Lunar Yoga Immersion program was wonderful.Hayley is one of the most incredible yoga philosophy teachers that I've ever had. Her patient guidance on this path will be unforgettable. The wisdom classes that she taught were a true gift, and I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to study under her. The program that she has created really allowed me to venture deep within my consciousness. She created a loving and supportive space to help me shed the layers of myself that no longer serve me, and to shine my light brighter.I highly recommend this program to anyone who is looking to reconnect with their hearts, their bodies, and the earth. Thank you!! "

" I came to the forest for one week as a guest and ended up staying for 5! I signed up for the lunar yoga immersion course which ended up being the best decision of my life. Hayley is an incredible teacher with so much wisdom to share. It's a brilliant course with 1 hour meditation and 3 hours yoga a day, alongside a 2 hour wisdom theory class a day, which were so amazing.I learned so much and would recommend anyone interested in yoga, consciousness deepening practice or teacher training to come here. i'll be back for my teacher training for sure!! the forest is so beautiful and amazing place to go and visit, the permaculture farm, food, cabanas, yoga platforms and chill out spots are all amazing. I had the most incredible time and made friends for life. everyone is super genuine, supporting and beautiful at the forest. It will always remain as one of the most special experiences of my life. "

" I came across The Yoga Forest purely by chance (I googled Yoga + Forest wanting to do yoga in a forest!) and fate led me to Hayley's beautiful project in the hills above San Marcos. The combination of sustainable agriculture, eco-friendly facilities, super-friendly people, daily yoga, an incredible view, delicious food and -hello- pizza night on Friday led me to extend my stay. Highly recommended."

" I spent a few days here around New Year's. It's nice to follow the painted rocks on the trail to eventually find this place. As a result, it's secluded, but near town. It has a breathtaking view of Lake Atitlan. My only improvement would be to have a bit more structure - but maybe that's because I was there around New Year's, and things were slower than.Even then, there's only meditation & yoga in the morning, and then a yoga class in the afternoon. So you'll have a lot of free time. I spent my free time doing meditation on my own, or reading books. It's also a great environment to socialize with other fellow travelers. "

" The moment you arrive in yoga forest you will realise how special it is, set in the amazing hills in forest. With the backdrop of permaculture gardens, accomodation of all levels, with fantastic views looking over the lake. The food is sooo good and always more than plenty. The yoga was fantastic catering for all levels, even the mediation in the morning, guiding you through the beautiful awakening of the forest surrounding.Didn't want to leave. In fact many people extend their stays, so be prepared for this. The best part of my whole 2 1/2 month trip in Central America. "

"Firstly, what can we say to sum it all upthe place, the view, the food, the yoga, the company, wow! The place really resonated with both of us, truly! For Amanda, being the yogi, nutritionist, and more spiritually open it suited her to a T. For me, Mark, even though not so yogi oriented, I still loved being here in such a chilled and relaxed place, open to explore. We felt so welcomed by all, from Brittany leading the majority of the yoga classes, to the interns, to Jeremy and his permaculture workshops, by the way we are going to be grafting some serious citrus trees, the lovely ladies who cooked our daily meals, the gents building everything around us, the cats and dogs for mooching around us, and lastly but not least Hayley for welcoming and creating the amazing Yoga Forest. Awesome to the max!"

If magic is real, then it dwells in places like this one.The Yoga Forests beauty radiates from the plants, the animals and above all, the people that call this home and labor each day to help it run and grow. Thank you to my friends Hayley, Petrona, Noe, and Mariana for making our stay so wonderful, and thank you to the interns Duncan, Sara, and Sally as well. I hope to return some day but regardless, will hold this time and place in my heart from this point on."
