The Strength Sanctuary is a 4-night residential fitness and wellness retreat for women. The Strength Sanctuary has designed a retreat to allow you to escape the demands of everyday lives and focus on your bodies and minds. The Strength Sanctuary UK Yoga Retreat Program

The retreat will be preceded by a health and lifestyle questionnaire. Sessions will be designed to meet individuals’ fitness goals and will accommodate all of the group members. The Strength Sanctuary works holistically placing emphasis on hard work, rest, and nutrition.

Your sessions will, in the majority, be held outdoors in the beautiful grounds. You will utilize private roads, surrounding fields and tennis courts for cardio sessions. Morning and evening yoga will be held outdoors if the weather permits.

You will have the option of up to 6 hours of exercise per day including yoga, running, walking, mountain biking and a variety of fun but challenging groups exercise sessions.

Typical day schedule

You are encouraged to participate in as many sessions as you wish to, however, if you feel that an hour of rest would make your day perfect then you are welcome to miss a session. The Strength Sanctuary is creating space with a variety of sessions on offer. You are free to take what you need in order to make your retreat right for you. The Strength Sanctuary offers a holistic exercise program designed to challenge all participants regardless of experience and ability.

While you’re with The Strength Sanctuary, they will work on muscular strength, flexibility, and stamina. Sessions are diverse and varied to enhance motivation and fun. Your instructors are experienced in delivering effective and exciting group fitness to a range of people from beginners to athletes. Whatever your fitness level is, they aim to work you hard. Rest and recovery time is an important part of your week and luxurious accommodation and optional therapies make this pleasurable and relaxing.

You can do as much or as little as you like, with options of walks instead of running, opting out of any offered session or choosing a lower level of exercise within each class. The Strength Sanctuary wants you to be happy and pleased with your workouts!

This is how a typical day would look like:

  • 07:00-08:00 Session 1: wake up yoga
  • 08:00-08:30 Breakfast smoothie
  • 08:30-09:15 Session 2: running session
  • 09:15-10:00 Breakfast buffet
  • 11:00-12:15 Session 3: bodyweight strength circuit or boxing
  • 13:00-14:00 Lunch and rest
  • 15:00 Session 4: mountain biking / local hike
  • 17:00 Snack
  • 17:30-18:00 Session 5: phwoar core (core stability)
  • 18:00-19:00 Session 6: evening yoga
  • 19:30 Evening meal

Tania's love affair with yoga began with her dad as a teenager. She enjoyed years of many schools of yoga, where she experienced first hand first the healing power of yoga in dealing with her own back pain and life journey. As her studies and practice grew more intense, she became a yogi mama to two beautiful boys, it lead gradually into a path of teaching yoga full time, which she has been doing for 10 years. She now loves and is totally committed to sharing her studies and passion for yoga with others.
Amy Lamont
Amy is a YMCA fit qualified personal trainer and group exercise instructor. Since qualifying as a personal trainer, Amy has worked with a diverse variety of people, supporting them to reach their personal fitness goals. She has worked with people who are new to exercise as well as experienced competitive athletes and many others in between.
Lysa Whatmore
Lysa first found a passion and an interest in exercising following the birth of her second child, having had very little enthusiasm or confidence in exercise previously. Her aim is to ensure the smooth functioning of the time at the retreat. She will be a listening ear, always available to make sure each guest has what they need and that they are safe and well supported during their time at the retreat.

Retreat location

This retreat will be held in a beautifully converted Victorian Oast house surrounded by traditional hop gardens and farmland. It is located on the border between Kent and East Sussex and sits within one of Kent’s prettiest areas of outstanding natural beauty. It is conveniently situated within 1.30 hours from London by car or train. Surrounded by peaceful countryside, the location lends itself to amazing hikes, bike rides, and revitalising outdoor training sessions and yoga.


The Strength Sanctuary does not believe in counting calories or depriving your bodies of the fuel that you need to build strength in the muscles and the mind. They have designed a clean menu that excludes processed sugars, wheat, alcohol, and caffeine.

The Strength Sanctuary adapts your daily changing menu according to the groups’ dietary needs, intolerances, and allergies. They balance the nutrition by mixing good fats, healthy proteins, and low glycemic complex carbs with an abundance of delicious locally sourced organic vegetables, fruits, and grains.

This carefully designed menu rids your body of harmful toxins and replenishes these with the correct nutrients required to function optimally. The Strength Sanctuary practices clean eating without deprivation. Fuelling your hard work and feeding your muscles. Drinks are served all day but there is no alcohol.

The Strength Sanctuary nutritional ethos

  • Eat five to six times a day
  • Use organic and locally sourced produce
  • Provide abundance of water and herbal tea’s daily to flush the system and hydrate
  • Eliminate processed and refined foods. This includes wheat, sugar, and pasta. You’ll enjoy complex carbs such as whole grains and The Strength Sanctuary removes anything high in trans fats preservatives, colour additives, and toxic binders, stabilisers, emulsifiers and fat replacers. They will limit and identify your use of dairy products.
  • Consume healthy fats
  • Aim to have essential fatty acids, or EFAs, every day in main meals

Cancellation Policy

  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 2 days before the arrival date.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
